I've been a loyal Ford customer for five years with my Ford Fusion Hybrid and have been working…read morewith Carman Ford for the past year and a half. Unfortunately, I can no longer trust them for anything beyond basic services like oil changes. In October, I brought my car in for a concerning sound coming from the dashboard. Since they were too busy to perform a full diagnostic, the technician only did a minor check. Fast forward one month, my car overheated while driving on the highway. I took it back to Carman Ford, and they claimed to have run a full diagnostic. They told me I needed to replace the thermostat cap and possibly the water pump, with a repair cost of $1,100. Two days after picking my car up, the check engine light came back on. I had to return it to the dealership, and this time they told me I needed a full engine replacement for $10,000, citing a common Ford manufacturing issue. So, the $1,100 I spent on the initial repair was completely pointless, as the car wasn't fixed at all. I towed my vehicle to a mechanic with over 30 years of experience who completed the repair and stated the $1,100 spent with Carman Ford was pointless as the entire engine had to be removed regardless (which included the piece they "fixed") I'm extremely disappointed with the lack of professionalism and competence. I will not be returning to Carman Ford for any major repairs and highly recommend seeking service elsewhere if you value your time and money.

I keep my car very up to date and have had little to no issues and with it being at 80k miles I wanted to Carmen ford where I purchased the vehicle, thinking they would take the best care of it. At Carmen Ford I was greeted by a man who loosely informed me that I'm getting the works package. I let him know that I've heard a screeching noise recently and it may be the belt if they could also take a look. He quickly informs me that they will not look or try to fix anything unless we give them the $170 "to search". I said I'd wait and to only fix it if it's obvious. Don't go out of your way but hopefully it's something you guys see and can do for me. He made it seem like it shouldn't be a problem and they will just replace the belt if it's obviously worn down. The next day, first thing in the morning my car is ready. It seemed quite fast and I asked what was all done. He informed me that my oil and tires have been rotated (The most expensive oil change and tire rotation I've seen). Quickly realizing that unless I pay 170 they are not even going to look at my car. So I give the green light, and say please fix the screeching sound I believe it's just the belt from my research and he also mentions spark plugs needing replaced. I give them the go ahead. I receive a call the next day and my car is ready. $1,180 for tire rotation, spark plugs, and putting a clamp on something to stop the rattling noise. The man working the front desk was very avoidant and I had to ask him to explain what I am paying for. He had NO intention. Nearly 900 of this is labor cost. FOR WHAT? On top of this, my electronics in my vehicle have not been the same since. Black screens, and tire pressure alarms changing daily.

WORST CAR BUYING EXPERIENCE EVER!!!!!!!!!!!! DO NOT CHANCE GETTING A CAR FROM THESE SCAM…read moreARTISTS!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I bough my 2015 Ford Explorer 3 months ago from Larry. Who by the way has crap customer service and thinks that its okay to raise his voice at his customers. So me and my husband bought the car and told him we needed to get it registered in MD where we live. He said that they would be able to do that with no problem. They give us a 3 month temp tag which I though was weird but they said was normal in DE. So I double checked and asked him they where going to mail us our permanent tags or would we have to come pick them up and Larry was very clear that he would mail them to us. Then when our 3 month temp tag expires we call them and speak with Larry and he says that he never said he would mail our tags to us and that we had to take the car to get a MD state inspection. Fast forward we go get the inspection done the next day and the car fails inspection for multiple reasons. The back tires both need to be replaced as one had whole plug to close to the tire wall to be a good fix and the other tire had cracks that stretched all the way to the tire wall. The driver-side outer tie rod had excessive movement and inner tie rod boot is damaged with the clamp lodged inside the pinion. Both mufflers have rot holes in them and its leaking break fluid. Now there where other things wrong like the battery was bad, rear axel seals have been leaking for a while. So I call Larry and I'm pissed. He says well your cars out of warranty there's nothing I can do about it. So now I'm paying out of pocket $3400 just to get the car to pass a state inspection and I'll be having our military lawyers take them to court. This is was just crazy. Larry and the rest of the store knew what kind of shape the car was in and sold it anyway. THE WORST KIND OF PEOPLE. WILL NEVER BUY FROM THEM AGAIN!!!!!!!!!!! DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY!!!!

    Hertrich Hyundai

WARNING - Do NOT purchase from Hertrich Hyundai of New Castle…read more This has been one of the worst experiences I have ever had with a dealership. I purchased a brand new 2024 vehicle (under 1,000 miles, straight from the showroom), and within the first month it needed a full steering column replacement. Within two months, the sunroof began leaking. When I brought it in for repairs, the dealership outsourced the work--and returned my vehicle with additional damage, including exterior scratches, a ripped interior liner, and a still-broken sunroof. After returning the car immediately, they attempted another repair and then claimed a rodent nest was found, with damage to the airbag system--damage that was not present during the first repair, meaning it occurred while the vehicle was in their possession. The car has now been at the dealership for over 60 days. Instead of taking responsibility, they tried to push me to file a claim through my personal insurance for damage that clearly happened while the car was under their care. That is completely unacceptable. The situation became even more frustrating when the manager, Chris, demanded we pick up the vehicle immediately--even though it was unsafe, with a rodent nest still inside and a chewed-up airbag system. Our insurance company attempted multiple times to contact him and received no response. We showed up before the deadline he gave us, only to be told the paperwork wasn't ready and to come back the next day--completely wasting our time. As we were leaving, he came outside, crossed his arms, and laughed at us. It was incredibly unprofessional and disrespectful behavior. To make matters worse, the dealership even tried to argue that this was "not a new vehicle," despite selling it as one. The vehicle has since been acknowledged as a lemon, which says everything about the situation. The lack of accountability, poor workmanship, and rude, dismissive behavior from management is unacceptable. I highly recommend staying far away from this dealership. I will never purchase another Hyundai and will never return to Hertrich again.

We were told the entire sunroof needed to be replaced. We were told the new sunroof would be in on Sept 3, 2015. The sunroof finally came in on Oct 2 or 3, 2025. We were then told to bring the vehicle in on Oct 13, 2025 and it would take 3 days to replace. We dropped it off on Oct 11, 2025 and told Tom(Service Mngr) wed be out of town and would pick up the vehicle on the 20th or 21st. On the 20th, on our way to pick up the vehicle, I spoke to Kevin(Service Advisor) that it would be ready on the 22nd. I asked to speak to Tom to find out WTH was going on. Tom told.me a part had to be ordered and it would be ready on the 23rd. I then spoke to Brenda Daniels(GM of Service Dept), she informed me that our vehicle would be ready on Oct 27. I already had our situation escalated to Hyundai Corp of America and Muhammad is our representative there. I contacted him to express our displeasure of what's going on. He said he'd look into it and get back to me. Muhammad called back the next day to tell me our vehicle would be ready on the 23rd or 24th. Shortly after that Kevin called to let me know our vehicle is on schedule to be ready on Oct 30th or 31st. This place is so F'd up nobody knows what the F is going on. Avoid Hertrich at all cost is all I can say, and that includes the Dodge location in Elkton, MD. I've had an issue with them too.

We have experienced an issue with them when it comes to the pandemic and losing income. We were told by a person in customer service that we would get put on a reduced payment plan, and they never put us on one even after having our car for 2 years and only 2 prior missed payments. Both missed payments due to the pandemic. But that is the only issue we have ever had. This company has worked with us and if it were not for the incident mentioned above, I would have given them 5 stars. They are simple. If you miss a payment, CALL THEM BEFORE THEY CALL YOU!!! Make a payment arrangement and if you cannot keep that arrangement, CALL THEM BEFORE THE PAYMENT IS EXPECTED TO COME OUT and work something out. COMMUNICATION is the key to having a good relationship with them. Let's face it...Flagship is a subprime lender for those of us who have less than perfect credit. So use them until you can do better! I will have to also say that I would refer them to anyone else we know. They have been faithful to honor our past payment arrangements and they only start calling you when you are 30 days past due and when you don't honor your payment arrangements. They can get VERY OBNOXIOUS with their 50 calls a day from random numbers etc... But again, if you make your payment before your 30 day grace, and you stick to your arrangements, you will not have a problem. Sincerely, A current Flagship customer.
