I am so over the generic Starbucks so I dive I don't a local coffee shop when I see one. Lots of baked goods, and the cinnamon bun was very tasty, just wish it was warm (I also needed not ask if I could get it warmed). Coffee selection are almost overwhelming; lots of choices...but it is not Starbucks I did have very high expectations for the sweet potato biscuits with eggs, ham, and Gouda...but if you order it note the scrambled egg and very thick Gouda slice. I was recommended this coffee shop by many and was not disappointment. I let the staff member know I was new to the coffee shop and she went over the whole menu with me. All of their baked goods were freshly baked. I got the blueberry scone and it was the best I ever had! I ordered a iced vanilla latte with oat milk. It was made just right. This is my favorite coffee shop in Hampton roads. Really, I love this place! Their coffee always perks me up, hot or cold. I usually come in on my lunch break or after work for a pick-me-up and a snack. I love their dirty chai. Robin's baked goods are to die for! My favorite is the rosemary Parmesan scone. Everything I've had from here has been great except for the other day - I got a piece of what was apparently leftover cake that fell extremely short. There is no way that cake should have been served... it had clearly been sitting open in a cooler absorbing other flavors. Maybe leftover from a holiday, or a cake a customer never picked up? It's been a few years since I've been here but let me say their Apple Bourbon Walnut cake was out of this world! The cake was very moist as were the apple slices. And the icing just topped it off with a hint of bourbon. This is a quaint local coffee/bake shop where everything is made from scratch. The young lady working the check out was very pleasant too. They have quite a menu of foods especially quiche, coffees and desserts. Quiche is definitely a favorite of mine so I'll be back to enjoy some of that. Decided to go here because we have heard nothing but good things about it. Let's keep this short and sweet, we ordered 3 quiches and 3 scones. She-crab quiche is by far my most favorite one! It's definitely a must have. Broccoli cheddar and spinach and artichoke were good as well. The biscuit was soft and sausage patty seemed to be made in house. Double chocolate cookie exceeded our expectations! It had a slight brownie like texture and a rich cocoa flavor. I also purchased bread pudding with Carmel sauce, which was flavorful and light. I was excited about the pecan sticky bun, which was the last one. The flavor was perfect, but the bun was stale. We just recently moved and discovered this little gem is only a 4 min drive from where we live; SCORE! This was our first time here and we decided to get a couple savory/sweet items: a slice of the ham/cheese and she crab quiche, a slice of the carrot cake and a molasses cream cookie. They have a HUGE menu selection here and it can be overwhelming! I recommend asking the workers here for any suggestions. You pick up your food order on one side, and drink orders on another side. Everything was ready within 5 mins of ordering. The cashier did inform us to get their cheesecake next time as it's "award winning" and we will definitely do that. We got home heated up our quiches and were ready to chow down. The crust of she she crab is PHENOMENAL. I can't just eat that all day long. The carrot cake was enjoyable and I would get it again. I would consider myself somewhat of a coffee snob and have tried just about every local coffee shop in the Norfolk, Chesapeake and Virginia Beach area and have to say, this cafe here has to be, hands down the best! I'd rate this establishment a 10/10 because the customer service was outstandingly accommodating and personable even though it was filled with a line of customers. Not only was the cashier taking orders in an orderly and timely manner, but he was also kind enough to make menu suggestions and help out with any questions about their specials. The ambiance is very cozy and familiar allowing a perfect spot to study, catch up with friends or loved ones. We ordered online the bacon egg Gouda biscuits, Lorraine quiches and a lemon blueberry scone and all were delicious! However, my son didn't care for the sweet potato biscuit. Not sure why they were sweet potato and not the regular homemade biscuits used for our dishes, unless they ran out of the regular ones and didn't let us know. We have been trying to knock out the punches on our punch card for the trail but on our 3rd punch at 17 hands we've been slowed down - because we've now been here 3 days in a row instead of continuing the trail. It is stupid good. 10/10 recommend The key lime pie was also amazing! & The banana pudding cake is a dream if you're a banana pudding fan. They have so many options for drinks and baked good that you'll be visiting for a while to try everything. They have an abundance of coffee flavors, teas, they even make their own lemonade. They have breakfast sandwiches, and a vast selection of baked goods. My only hang up is that they need more space. It can be crowded waiting for your food and drinks to come out and finding a place to stand and wait can be a little awkward. This is at no fault of their own, they're obviously killing it. This place was very disappointing and extremely expensive. The atmosphere was chaotic, messy and a bit disorganized. The drinks (a Winter Cranberry Matcha and a SF Vanilla Breve) were average, but $20 for 2 small drinks?! Never in my life had I been to a coffee shop with drinks that expensive with such an average taste. After waiting 20 minutes for 2 slices of quiche (Mediterranean and Keto Lorraine), it turned out they never put the order in and one of the flavors (Lorraine) was out of stock which the employee failed to say. A different employee refunded the quiches and apologized for the inconvenience. She prepared us one of the original quiches that was in stock and gave us 2 free desserts on the house. After receiving the quiche we took a bite and it was one of the grosses things we had ever tasted! It was mushy, undercooked, and the flavor was disappointing. Wanting to get the taste out of our mouths, we tried the desserts we were given (a Lemon Blueberry Scone and Keto PB Chocolate Cheesecake) and both had absolutely no flavor! Short story to tell: Today we ordered two cups of coffee and a feta-spinach bread. The coffee was ready in 5-7 minutes, but the staff forgot to give us a feta-spinach bread (and it's understandable coz there were a lot of ppl coming over and the staff was busy). And I decided to ask them if we still could get our bread. There was a young man who was working at the checkout (unfortunately, I do not know his name, but he was wearing a multi-colored T-shirt and a cap), he apologised for waiting and gave us a piece of delicious cake as an apology. That was so sweet of him!! Also, he was so kind and patient when we were making an order, and he recommended us which coffee to choose (coz we didn't know what we wanted) :)) Thank you so much for such a good service! The only reason I docked a star was because the cafe is so small, therefore seating was limited and it was a tight cramp to maneuver around. Not really a place to study. I moved to FL after being in VA for 10 years, I was here when 17 Hands opened up. Always loved their coffee and bake goods, would go there once to twice a week. I came back this week for business trip looking forward to the coffee. I don't know what happened, but my love for their coffee is no more. I ordered 1 16onz cappuccino and 1 12 onz cappuccino. On both more than half of the cup was milk froth, and both coffees had coffee ground residue at the bottom. I am sorry to say, but it is the worst coffee l've had so far. Please go back to what it was. The 16 onz was maybe 10 onz and the 12 onz was maybe 8 onz. Complete heartbroken. read more

Why did I wait so long to come here? I absolutely loved my visit to this coffee shop/bakery. The staff was friendly, the atmosphere was clean and inviting, and the food and coffee = perfect. When I took my first sip of coffee, it was SO smooth. I didn't even have to add any cream of sugar - and that says a lot because it is rare for me to drink my coffee black! The Mediterranean Quiche was flavorful, so fresh, melt in your mouth, and filling. You can get the quiche with or without crust. I opted in for the crusted quiche and i'm so glad I did because of how flaky and divine it tasted! The Cheddar and Bacon scone was pretty good too. It had the perfect crunch and consistency throughout, with a nice flavor. My daughter enjoyed a Blueberry Lemon Scone and a hot chocolate. We will definitely be back!! I want to try everything! Side note: There were some cake samples at the front...the Chocolate Mint cake sample was enough for me to want to bring my parents by... haha Also, I need to get in in the 99 cent drip coffee during the first hour of the day! Yes, yes, yes! I had wanted to try this place since I first heard about it. I've now visited twice and enjoyed both times thoroughly. I've tried three of their scones and they are all incredible. Truly crave-worthy and enough to make me go back for one alone. But thankfully, that's not all they have going for them! Friendly staff. Fast WiFi. Comfortable seating options. Fun & seasonal coffee drinks. And many other delicious looking options from the bakery! This will be one of my top spots for remote working as I can get a nice breakfast and yummy drink at once. There are outlets at the counter tables by the window to charge up, as well as by the table toward the back which serves as the go-to spot for getting work done. After hearing rave reviews about 17 hands I had to come by and try it. I took my food to go cause I was meeting a friend elsewhere. The line was rather long and only one cashier. I waited a good ten minutes to place my order. Right before I got up there they opened a second register. Wish that had happened sooner. The gentleman was very friendly and nice getting me rung up, though I did feel a touch pressured to get a drink when I was only planning on getting food. I ended up getting a strawberry lemonade as I don't like coffee. I know let that sink in. Moving on. I then waited about another ten minutes for the food to be warmed up and headed out. When I arrived at my destination I was pleased that the food was still warm and had held up nicely. We are at an outdoor picnic table and the sandwiches were pretty spot on. The biscuit gave it just the right amount of sweet to balance the salty of the bacon and cheese. As you can see in the picture the sandwich was not lacking in ingredients. A nice thick egg, beautiful slice of Gouda, and thick cut bacon. The biscuit held up nicely not breaking apart as I ate. The cinnamon roll was flaky and tender. I ended up sending most of it with my friend as I was very full. All in all a good visit. Though I did knock one star for the surprise bill. As the menu has no prices listed which did not thrill me. Located in a strip mall near the neighborhood wal mart, this shop would also fit perfectly in an arts district or small town.
