More than once now in just the first month we've used this place, kids and shown up and being told they are "not on the list". They have been moved to another slot, and we get no communication or warning (or being asked if the new time/day even work!). Having kids who are over and over again and at this point a 50/50 chance of going home disappointed. Maybe it gets better later in the "season" and I'll update, but somehow I doubt it. Teams are routinely placed in leagues they don't belong in, resulting in blowout games, aggressive behavior, and zero competitive balance. On top of that, there have been multiple serious assaults, including me being hit in the face by a player wearing a watch and one of my players being punched and kicked in the head with no consequences. Instead of addressing safety issues, their solution was to move my beginner team up a division without notice, after we had already paid and no refunds. I would strongly warn others that if you value fair play or basic safety, look elsewhere.

There is an online training, an in-person option to learn coaching skills, and a concussion/safety training, plus an app/resources for planning practices and drills. (It sounds like a lot but was manageable and what you want from a coach teaching your child!) I really liked the experience overall and found the league was well run and communication was good. Families and other coaches were very friendly and it felt like the type of league I played in as a kid for 12+ years-- well organized practices, actual games on the weekends, etc. The emphasis really is on teaching kids strong basics but also having fun (they remind the coaches of that many times!). I looked into other leagues, and was wary of reviews that said some teams in other leagues didn't really play real games and it's more instructional than a league (I9). Lonestar seemed like a good option for more intensive soccer (some options for more than 1 practice a week) but other than that seemed similar so we're sticking with NASA for now and are excited for a second year.

The splash pad has a dedicated fenced in area for the water fun, and a nice grassy area with tables and seating. Perfect for a picnic! I love taking walks with my daughters along the lake, admiring the views and enjoying the wildlife. If you're adventurous you can rent a canoe or kayak from the boathouse and take it out onto the lake as well. This park is a beautiful place to spend time on a weekend!

You can also walk on the unpaved trail along the water (it's very smooth and stroller-friendly). There is a playground. It's split into two areas for different ages. It's great in theory but I found it a bit lacking. There's a rudimentary playground that's labeled as 2-5. And a crunk playground (3-tiered, with gnarly slides) labeled as 5-12. Don't get me wrong -- this big playground is awesome for older kids. But it's a bit too advanced/scary for a 3-year-old. Meanwhile, the little playground was too simple/easy for her. So there's a middle age that isn't really catered to. But, great for 2-year-olds and 5+. There are also multiple parks with playgrounds within a short driving distance (Champion, Olson Meadows) so you can easily park hop.
