8/10/2022 Yesterday…read morewas my first visit.. It was a little nerve racking when you are switching from an office that you have been visiting and then finding a new provider.. I changed because my old pt office stopped covering my current medical insurance.. I did my due diligence and research that led me here.. My first initial impression of the office and Boyd: a small but very caring environment.. As I answered the standard questions and of me explaining my situation, I felt comfortable and had complete individual attention. As time went on with the assessment, it was very transparent that Boyd is compassionate about his patients and enjoys his work. I think with those two qualities, you are in the best care possible. I was given homework stretching to do and will be back next week. Last night, was a great rest in a long time.. !

His tasks and diagnosis seemed accurate and I feel he genuinely knows what he's talking about. With years of experience and expertise within athletes, it was nice to know he is optimistic I'll be back up and running and also running fast again. I've been dealing with plantar fasciitis for almost a year and it seems to have moved to the top of my foot/ankle area. Really hoping the exercises he assigned to me will help!

Healing Hands Physical Therapy and Body Work in Reno has completely redefined what I thought…read morephysical therapy could be. I've worked with many different PTs over the years--from the Mayo Clinic in Arizona to multiple high-end facilities in Las Vegas--and nothing has come close to the attention to detail, level of personalization, and genuine care I've received from the Healing Hands team. From day one, Jamie and her staff took the time to truly understand *me*--not just my injury. They looked at my whole body, my lifestyle, my stress levels, and my goals, and built a treatment plan that went far beyond the standard "do these exercises and come back next week" model. They combined hands-on work, targeted exercises, and supportive guidance in a way that not only relieved my pain, but actually helped my body heal to the point that I was able to avoid surgery. That is something no other clinic has ever been able to do for me. What really sets Healing Hands apart is their complete mind-body-mental wellness approach. I have never seen anything like this in any medical practice. They don't rush, they listen, they explain what they're doing and why, and they make you feel like a partner in your own recovery. Every visit felt purposeful. I left each session not only feeling physically better, but also more hopeful, calmer, and more confident in my body. I will absolutely be returning for preventative and maintenance care, not just crisis care. I recommend that *everyone* experience Healing Hands' proactive, whole-person approach--especially anyone who has been told they "just need surgery" or feels stuck after trying traditional physical therapy elsewhere. See Jamie and her team first. They will change your perspective on healthcare, give you real hope, and very likely make a meaningful impact on your quality of life.

I had a very frustrating experience at the ROC Express location in Galena…read more Earlier that morning, I used ROC's online chat to let them know that my 10-month-old son's splint was coming apart because he had been pulling at it. I uploaded a photo showing the stuffing coming out. A few hours later, a ROC employee called me back and specifically told me I could go to any ROC Express location to have his splint rewrapped. I even asked if the Galena location was okay since it's closest to my house, and she told me yes. Before leaving home, I completed the online check-in, explained exactly why I was coming, and provided my phone number and email. I checked in about 30 minutes before arriving. By the time we got to the office, my 10-month-old had actually kicked the splint off completely. I even held it up and showed it to the receptionist because I was genuinely concerned that he no longer had any support on his injured leg. When I got to the Galena office, it was completely empty. No customers. I walked up to the front desk, and the receptionist (Jocelyn) simply stared at me without saying hello or asking how she could help. I told her who I was and that I had checked in online. After reading my online check-in, she told me (rudely) they couldn't help because my son had an appointment scheduled for Monday. I explained that I had just spoken with someone from ROC who specifically instructed me to come there to have the splint rewrapped. She insisted they couldn't do anything--not even rewrap the splint--and that he needed to wait for his appointment. Despite showing her that he had kicked it off completely. She was very rude & uncaring. What made even less sense is that ROC Express exists to evaluate and treat orthopedic injuries. If I had walked in off the street with my son after his injury, they would have treated him. Instead, despite having an injured 10-month-old with no splint on his leg, I was told they couldn't even rewrap it. The explanation simply didn't add up. To make matters worse, they had all of my information from my online check-in. If they truly believed they couldn't help, they could have called me before I drove there with my baby. Instead, I made the trip only to be turned away. I then spent about 30 minutes on hold trying to reach someone at ROC. By chance, the same employee who had called me earlier answered. She told me the Galena office was mistaken and instructed me to go to the downtown ROC Express instead. Within an hour, my son was seen at the downtown location and placed in a cast without any issues. The difference between the two locations was night and day. The downtown staff was knowledgeable, compassionate, and efficient. Unfortunately, my experience at Galena was the exact opposite. Between the misinformation, poor customer service, and unwillingness to help an injured infant, I left feeling extremely disappointed. I sincerely hope ROC addresses the training and customer service at this location because families shouldn't have to drive from office to office with an injured child due to incorrect information.
