The 3.8 rating doesn't make sense to me. Food was very good and there were very generous portions. Riley, our waitress, was very attentive and remembered details for my order -- ice and club soda separate from my wine. Most servers have to be asked more than once! Seafood was fresh, club was HUGE! Fries seemed to be made in house. I would return if I was local and do recommend! P.s. Minor comment -- Three of the five/six TVs were showing a cheesy ad for a jacuzzi bathtub on a loop. Came here for my birthday! Was anticipating linner (lunch dinner) but my brunch meal was so late in the day I wasn't very hungry. It was a Monday afternoon so very quiet at the time. I did ask if I could sit next to the open window seats and they were more than welcoming and let me sit where I wanted! Their drinks were very good, I tried the drunk dialer. We did split an app of fried calamari for a snacky. The server was so friendly and just very personable. I absolutely would love to come back and try the pizza or gnocchi and definitely plan to visit again in this year around the sun! The downside is there is no parking so either lucky out with a street or pay for one of the parking lots nearby. Some would no like it, but if this place had Keno I think I'd be here every chance I could get. They also have other events that go on and worth checking out on their social media page. I love Rocco's! If you're in the area, it's the best place to watch a Bruins or Patriots game. They have several screens! Bartenders are always nice and they have a full bar menu. This is a nice sports bar in the North End if you are looking to watch any of the games. It's a little small but the service is nice. And there's enough TVs to see what's going on from anywhere. We had a group come in and order 2 pizzas, the broccoli rabe and the vodka sauce, both were really good. But the vodka sauce was my favorite for sure. And they were priced extremely reasonably. I wouldn't say it's best pizza in the area but still up there. And we also got the fish and chips which were just ok. In all we will be coming back if there's ever a big game day. read more

However, after a left turn onto Commercial Street, I popped into Rocco's to find it rather hopping inside. Several televisions were brightly lit with different sports playing. A bar lined the far right wall of the wide narrow space, with tables set with chairs by the left side, while high tops filling the right. I was immediately greeted by the hostess and led to a table. For my early dinner - Steak & Cheese Wrap $10.95 (Shaved steak with peppers, onions, mushrooms, and cheese. Served with your choice of sides - french fries, sweet potato fries, onion rings, side salad). The wrap was stuffed with meat, a generous portion of cheese, and a scattering of veggies. Juices unfortunately oozed out onto the plate soaking the wrap. The sweet potato fries were lightly crisp on the outside, and a good sized pile on the plate. I asked for some honey mustard for dipping, and at the end of my meal was surprised to be informed of a small surcharge of about half a buck. I came to realize that I prefer my steak and cheese to be stuffed into a crisp crusted chewy roll for a greater contrast of textures. But yes, a wrap is likely the healthier option. Service was fine, and I witnessed the care and consideration set upon a nearby table with a young patron, as bread and a basket of chips were quickly delivered. read more

I had the ravioli with meatballs and my partner had the gnocchi. The meatballs were fantastic; you can tell they really care about the quality of their food. But let me tell you... the cannoli!! They were the best cannolis I've had in years. I wanted to make a pit stop on our way out of the city just to get more of them. If I lived here, I would go broke. Do yourself a favor and keep walking by Rocco's up a block and turn right on Hanover Street. Not one thing was good during our experience unfortunately. From the flat soda, flat aperol spritz (served in a hurricane glass to make matters worse) to the rancid, dry chicken on the pizza to the mealy flavorless tomatoes on the caprese salad, without basil... some of the worst food and service we've ever had anywhere. Julie our server was aloof and unfriendly and couldn't be bothered with us. The manager made no apologies, defended everything, and didn't offer to to remove anything from our bill which wasn't even the point in sharing everything with her. She herself stood at a table behind us and talked with her friends the entire time we were seated. We had the buffalo wings to start. A-OK with the right amount of sauce on them and a good heat. The small cup of blue cheese was a little challenging not to double dip but we poured it out in halfsies. Nicely plated and delicious. For main, I chose the ziti with chicken and garlic and broccoli. It was tasty with a lot of excellent garlic. I found it to be quite oily though, getting through it and down to a one inch pond of it in the bottom of the bowl. Perhaps too much oil for my taste, but it was good. With the windows open and a view of Commercial, it was a pleasant dining experience. It is in the North End for sure, but around the corner from the usual strip of Italian restaurants on Hanover. As such, it's more "cucina" than "ristorante." Rocco's is A-OK in my book! read more

Stopped in for a few drinks with a group of 7 on a Saturday afternoon. The place was pretty crowded but we were able to find some room near the bar. The upscale italian-ish sports bar concept falls kinda of flat- the semi upscale interior clashed with the cacophony of commercials blaring during college basketball games. Re-runs of the golf channel were also playing. When I asked to change the channel to another game, the bar tender was pretty annoyed but she eventually found the channel. read more
