We needed lunch in Boston's Financial District. Saw "Lily's" on Yelp with solid reviews. That's my daughter's name. Done. Lincoln's hung behind the bar. You've got tin ceiling tiles, red neon spelling out XO Lily on wallpaper with brown patterns, red booths with buttons everywhere. Abe running the place like a speakeasy decorated by an Italian grandmother. It works. We ordered house made chips and a pepperoni pizza. The chips came out warm. Actually warm, not "we nuked these 20 minutes ago" warm. Kettle style cut, seasoned right, crunchy. Someone's slicing potatoes in the back. You can tell. I kept eating them even though the pizza was coming. No regrets. The pizza showed up in a metal tray on pink branded paper, big enough for two people at lunch. The sauce hit first. Bright, tomato forward without going sweet. You could taste the oregano salt and basil doing something, not just sitting there. The pepperoni cupped up with crispy edges like it's supposed to. The crust. 24 hours fermenting that dough. You feel it in the chew. That's gluten development from time, not from shortcuts. Crisp where it touched the pan, soft enough to fold. It carried the sauce and cheese without showing off. Some places build their whole identity around crust, make you listen to the fermentation timeline before you can order. This one just made good dough and moved on. The server was perfect. Not hovering, not missing. Never waited for a refill but she wasn't standing there asking how everything was every four minutes either. That balance is tough. She nailed it. After 67 pizzerias across Rhode Island, I can spot the difference between a kitchen and an assembly line. Lily's is a kitchen. They're doing the boring work. The stuff that costs more and takes longer and doesn't photograph well for Instagram. Making chips from scratch when buying them's cheaper. Fermenting dough for a day when you could rush it. Hiring people who understand timing. Would I go back? Yeah. The chips were great. The pizza was good. Saw sandwiches, burgers, desserts on the menu that looked good too. But honestly? I'd drive back just for those chips. Still warm. Worth every single one I ate before the pizza arrived. Lincoln approves.

Great ambiance with retro vibes. The chicken bacon ranch was delicious with thin crispy crust. The chicken on the pizza seemed like it was fried vs grilled which only added flavor. I believe the ranch was buttermilk. The pepperoni pizza was a little too greasy but that did not take away from the amazing flavors and crunchy pepperoni. The red sangria was sweet but not overwhelming. The espresso martini was perfect if you enjoy a more creamy vs dark. I would not recommend the cucumber lemonade cocktail, way too tart.

CHOPPED SALAD

First time here on Friday night for karaoke! Fun place, cool interior, very interesting artwork on the walls, great vibe. Place was already packed and all tables seemed reserved when we got here around 7. They were able to make a table available for our group of 6-7 though right near the karaoke setup, so that was great! The karaoke system is essentially you put your name & song down on a sheet of paper and the DJ Gene calls you - that's it. Not too many people sign up so you can get to sing 3-4 songs through the night which goes until 11. For food, I only ordered the chopped salad because I had already eaten dinner beforehand. It was good - crispy lettuce chopped bite size, shredded carrots, tomatoes, avocados creamy ranch dressing. I actually quite enjoyed it although I think it was a bit small especially given that it's $18 - but this is downtown so prices like that are to be expected. Others ordered pizza and enjoyed it. Service was good, very efficient. The place is super busy and the servers are all running around. Pro tip for parking: We lucked out with SpotHero parking in the garage (Pearl street) nearby for only $9! What a deal for almost 4 hours of parking! Fun vibe, with lots of regulars and some really good singers. So a really fun time was had by all. The DJ's wife Sandra was sitting right there at the first table. She was really sweet! Will definitely be back for karaoke and hubs will have to try their pizza one of his favorite foods!

I came here twice already and loved their pizzas and cocktails. The patio seating is very cute but the inside is super cool with fun decorations and an open karaoke bar. My favorite pizzas were the mushroom and margherita ones. I highly recommend coming here for a fun celebration.

Lily's has hands down the best tacos I have had in Massachusetts since I moved here from San Diego, CA 1 1/2 years ago. The service was amazing and a very nice ambiance in the patio. I will come back here over and over again.

We stopped by Lily's to enjoy some carby-cheesy goodness post marathon. Upon entry, you feel a little lost, which we observed with other guests after we were seated. You walk in and it feels like it could be seat yourself, but there is a host. The restaurant is eclectically decorated to say the least. Kind of a weird vibe for a pizza bar, but it was very clean and the service was prompt We ordered buffalo chicken dip, a pepperoni pizza, and a spinach and artichoke pizza. The buffalo chicken dip was a bit mild, but we enjoyed it. The pepperoni pizza was quite good. The pepperoni was the small slices that cup upward and save their greasy goodness. The spinach and artichoke pizza was disappointingly bland. Normally a flavorful combo, but the flavors were severely underdeveloped.

Was on a business trip in Boston and needed somewhere to grab a bit and if you're looking for a casual bar with good food this one is recommend from me. The server was friendly and the music was reggaeton so my bias is at play when I saw the ambiance was great Lol. And I just include that the fries and pizza hit the spot for me so I would definitely revisit.

We stopped in here for a drink and a good a Shareable if that menu was worthy. We sat down and ordered our regular drinks and saw they have Chicken Parmesan Spring Rolls! We had to try them out for ourselves. They were perfectly cooked with a ton of flavor and we were wanting more. We were trying to pace ourselves in the food realm so only had this appetizer and marked this place to come back to. The other thing I loved about this place was that they had multiple charging stations with multiple charger cords for all phone types. What a very thoughtful add to a place that really helps out the customers.

Love the dark moody vibe here. We came here around 7pm on a Tuesday and it wasn't crowded. We were seated promptly. Our waitress was very quick and attentive. Our drink order and food came out ultra quickly. We loved almost everything. The popcorn chicken was crispy and we loved the sauce it came with. It was reminiscent of General Tso's chicken. We also thought the elote dip, buffalo chicken dip and the quesadilla were delicious. The Margherita pizza was very flavorful and I loved the chunky tomato but the tomatoes gave off too much water and that made the pizza soggy and the toppings fell off. Otherwise it's an inexpensive spot for some comfy food and a cool vibe.

Lily's Pizza & Bar, and Patio offers indoor seating, bar seating, a private off street patio, and a pandemic street patio. I guess that might make it a quadruple threat. Service was pleasant. I got a Margherita pizza to go. Thin crust. Fresh mozzarella. Slices of tomato and a couple of basil leaves. With one pie cut into 6 slices, not every slice had basil, but the tomatoes at least made the round. They were a bit too generous with the black pepper to our taste, but we liked the crust and still enjoyed Lily's pizza.

Enjoying my Downeast

We decided to enjoy a last minute Valentine's Day dinner at Lily's! And we are glad we did! As we walked in someone was there to ask us if we had a rez and we got sat right away. The server immediately took our drink order and service was prompt. I had the Downeast cider on draft and my hubby got a spicy margarita. Both were delicious. We shared everything - taco salad, bang bang cauliflower, cheesy bread add pep, and nachos. The taco salad is one of the best I've had - I love the flour tortilla shell and grilled chicken. Cannot wait to order the bang bang cauliflower again. The cheesy bread did not disappoint - we loved dipping it into the marinara sauce. Nachos were perfect - lots of toppings and flavorful. Overall, this place is amazing. We cannot wait to come back - the vibe is so cool with good music. Cheers!

Came here for a late(ish) night snack on a weeknight as we were visiting Boston! The restaurant is located on Broad street with a decent bit of outdoor seating available. There weren't many people when we visited, but it seems like a place that would look very different on the weekends. The sausage and cherry pepper pizza was solid with a crispy crust, a slightly spicy sauce and a sprinkling of sausage throughout. Honestly a pretty solid pizza if not for the relatively small size of the pizza. Service was quick and the servers were nice as well when they let me know that they didn't have the 2 beers I was looking for.. overall a good place for a dinner option in a pinch if you're looking for pizza!

So we made the trek up to Thacher...it's not in the middle of all the Italian places, but not too far, either. Of course we had blistering heat on July 4 and there was a line. We were told 20 minutes to wait and the line did move as promised. Note that there were some locals in line with us. Regina's is not a tourist trap. We wanted to do a half and half pizza with pepperoni and chicken pesto, but were told you had to do a "build your own" for that. Two small pizzas were not too much higher in cost than a large. Prices are reasonable, we spent less than $50 for two small pizzas and two drinks. The pizzas were very good and the crust was excellent. Service was good. The place is small and I hear the Thacher location is better than the Fanueil Hall location. The menu has quite a few options, including a couple of vegetarian pizzas.

We had the meat lover's pie and oh my. Wgat a delicious fusion animals, cheese, tomatoes and crust. The taste took me back to a pizza I had many years ago at a place in Cambridge--in a great way! They only sell whole pies, which at first seemed annoying (the first time I tried coming here a few years ago I was by myself and couldn't eat a whole pizza alone) so I had to make this my inaugural tasting). But I see that as ensuring you are only eating a fresh product, where all the ingredients cook into each other and come out hot and ready, instead or something reheated from four hours ago because the day was slow. The menu is simple: pizzas and meat skewers. They know what they do well and lean into it hard. The ambiance has a rustic feel, with tall, weathered wooden booths that make eating a close experience, so please bring people you really like! The servers are present but not hovering and checked on us with the kind of frequency that says, "yeah we should let you eat but not forget you are there." I will be back for sure.
