Ventured out to OOB on the first 70 degree spring day in Maine. Most of the strip doesn't open up until May so my "go to" is usually Lisa's Pizza. I noticed Rocco's a few doors down and decided to give them a shot. I've been going to Lisa's for 30+ years but haven't been impressed with my last few visits. Well I'm glad I gave Rocco's a shot because I just found my replacement. The pizza was out quick. The fried dough and chicken tender basket was cooked to order so they took a few minutes but were out in a reasonable amount of time. All the food was great and the counter service was friendly. I snagged side street parking right around the corner so it was free and didn't have that pesky half an hour limit. Do yourself a favor and hit this spot before the tourists start pouring in. read more

Maine most not how to make pizza because this is the second pizza place i've had wow you guys can not make a good pizza it's actually crazy and disappointing. also the customer service here is horrible to say at the least. id suggest literally anything else (even dominos) then this place. have a great day ! read more

You're on the beach and you want some pizza, this is footsteps away and beside many other pizza shops slinging pricey pizza (you're in a tourist town at the beach it's not a $1 slice). The pizza is going to hit the spot, it's pizza, it's fresh. But that's about it. You are only going here if you're on the beach and already paid for your $10/day parking and aren't driving anywhere. This pizza is oily, very oily and is going to need to drain. It's lacking structure, and if you try to taco the pizza the end is going to be limp. You might get a breakout the next day from the oils, but you will be fed. The ingredients are nothing to write home about either, it's just cheap pizza made decently enough to probably be just as good or slightly better than the other pizza shops around the beach. The turnaround is reasonable. The line as long as it is about the same everywhere. You're waiting 10 min to order and another few for a slice or in my case 10-15 for a full pizza to be made. TLDR: if you're stuck on the beach this pizza is fine. If you have a car and are willing to drive for pizza... do that. read more

Debate settled in my opinion. I'm a big pizza lover. Bills has good flavor and the pizza is not too thick, but the crust seems like it comes in frozen and does not taste that great by itself. However, of the 3 pizza joints downtown OOB, Bill's is 2/3. Lisa's is 3/3 (too thick and doesn't taste great) and Rocco's wins #1 hands down! Flavor is solid both sauce and cheese and the pizza has a nice thin fresh tasting crust with nice crunch. And the dough is stretched right in house. Thats my kinda pie!! All places are walk up so no comment on the atmosphere except that the area is really busy. Love OOB! read more

If you're looking for some American-Italian style pizza at Old Orchard, this is the spot. Crust-sauce-cheese ratio was pretty much perfect and even though we got slices, they weren't stale like at some other places at OOB. They were reheated in the oven to the point that they were nice and melty and pretty much indistinguishable from having a slice from a whole fresh pie. I also always appreciate the end crust being fluffy. Will come again! read more

My son is a picky pizza eater and he ate two slices. He even opted not to eat his fry dough to eat more pizza because it was so delicious. Definitely a hidden gem in old orchard beach. We got pepperoni and cheese and bother were good. It has a good crisp and crunch to the dough but not chewy hard or burnt. Probably the best food we had in old orchard beach. Service is quick for the slices. You order at the window and pick up from a window. Would be nice if there were more benches in front to enjoy the food. read more

Rocco's is the only pizza worth eating in OOB. Perfectly cooked NY style pizza, we don't know how the other places remain in business unless it's because people don't want to wait in line at Rocco's. To be fair, we went to Bill's and Lisa's and there's no comparison. Rocco's is the gold standard all pizza places should aspire to. My fiancé took a bite before I was able to and I was able to actually hear the crunch of that heavenly crust. I'm salivating just thinking about it. We went to Rocco's three times and got a large on our last night. Service was fast and friendly. This is the only reason I want to go to OOB every year. read more

Got a large mushroom pizza last nite. The pizza was a great size with one topping for the beach area about $18.00. I had two pieces very large and my husband had three. He loved it I thought it had a little too much cheese well worth the money for the area and they only took about 10 minutes to cook. read more

This is the best cheese pizza in Maine. It is a simple, delicious, New York style pizza. Note: If you order a slice and add toppings, they are just put on when it is reheated. Good pizza! I've been a few times and would not hesitate to go back. We ordered a large pie, took it to the common area & sat at a table to eat it amongst the sweet little chickadees while people watching. It's a whole experience. Wanted to believe the reviews, but I am cynical. I ordered a slice to test it out. First off, they have 5 or six shelves of cheese pizzas for slices. They weren't that busy to serve dried out product. They had just taken a 6 th one out and I asked for my 4.00 slice from that one. They refused telling me they go in order. My slice tasted like take out pizza I reheated in the oven. Moral is if the rack is full move on Updated to include time and picture. The picture was taken July 8th at 1:24pm. My niece rants and raves about Rocco's Pizza as being the best pizza in the OOB strip and she insisted that I simpky had to try it out. Well, to be perfectly honest, it really wasn't all that special. It was heated and not freshly made which was conveinent for fast service, however was reflected in the taste and flavor. We decided to try Rocco's instead of Lisa's based on the reviews. It was good pizza and a pretty good deal, however, very annoying that they don't accept credit cards in the day and age of square. I got to try both Lisa's and Roccos during my stay at OOB, and if you favor traditional New York style slices, then Rocco's is definitely the way to go. If found Lisa's to be more dough-y and skimpy on the cheese, while Rocco's was more like gooey, drippy cheese on a thin cardboard crust - the way NY-style pizza SHOULD be. I later found out that no one who knows their pizza actually orders the pizza at Lisa's, only the fries. Shame on me for not doing my research ahead of time. read more

Was it awful, I guess not, but it was also a pretty big letdown to hat my wife has been making fun of me for since we went there. Overall, Lisa's Pizza is an Old Orchard Beach classic and boardwalk pizza that exists for a reason. Will I be back? Eh, hard to say. But I might have to try Bill's for the fun of it next time.

I watched one employee go into the refrigerator, take out a head of lettuce that was still wrapped from the super market and just start pulling pieces off and putting it in a sandwich without washing their hands and without washing the lettuce. Apart from how unsanitary this place is, the food was atrocious. They should be embarrassed for the quality of food they put out. We ordered several items for a group while visiting Old Orchard Beach. I had the lobster roll. It was all bread and barely any lobster. The lobster that was in it was mushy, flavorless and was not fresh. We also ordered a turkey sub, which included a single slice of turkey on the entire sub. We ordered a few other subs including a tuna sub, which were all the same as the lobster roll - nothing inside and just a dry sub roll. We paid $2.99 for the fries and coleslaw with each of the sandwiches. We were told they were out of coleslaw but still had to pay $2.99 for the fries. After we brought our order home, all but one of the sandwiches had fries with it. It is a complete lack of care and customer service. This was probably one of the worst takeout experiences I have had in a long time. We tried calling after we brought our order home, but nobody picked up. Given the unsanitary conditions, horrible quality of food, and terrible customer service, I would AVOID this place at all costs. There are lot of better options in the area. They should honestly be shut down and not allowed to operate.

Obviously somebody forgot to turn off their orders on GrubHub, and it was a big deal for us because we were ordering food for a group to eat before a funeral. Luckily Domino's was terrific and got us some pizzas made in just 10 minutes.

It was a pretty busy Sat evening, for sure. Only one size of pizza....all large. Pizza orders of 8, 4 and 5 were pumping out the kitchen! Three workers and one register clerk made up the staff. There are 4 small tables and chairs if you want to eat-in, as well. When our order finally came out, I was a bit hesitant. I am a fan of lightly cooked and no bubbles. The pizza, when it was being cut, looked charred up a bit and had a bubble or two. As I walked to the car, I was not very confident that things would turn out the way they did. When we each started to eat the pizza, we were both thrilled with everything.....crust, cheese, overall taste and cook-style! The veggie was "delicious" and the cheese pizza was in the Louie's class (Woburn, MA). Boy, were we happy! The price was a little high but very well worth it. You get what you pay for! This business has been around for a few yet it seems like they make a handful of doughs and then close. Why have hours then because when you try to show up if you don't check social media or their online ordering you will be out of luck. Why not make more pizza dough if you know you are busy and people enjoy it? Also tried to order online and got charged, showed up and they said they never got my order and I would need to figure out the charges with my bank. Connect with the bank and they tell me the restaurant refunded me already and it's processing. So it seems like once again they ran out of dough even though I ordered online ahead of time when it opened. Just unfortunate experiences I have had all around.
