I have been using it for a few years and finally decided to refinish it and bring out the natural warmth of the wood grain. I started sanding myself and after about 10 minutes I rethought the do it yourself option and decided to subcontract it all. I had no idea were to go and started asking around. A friends mother recommended Mary Beth's in DT Rochester. I gave them a call and talked to Jessica. She suggested bringing a photo of the piece and a drawer to see if the piece was worth refinishing and to give me a estimate. They are located in a workshop behind a house in the neighborhood just west of the downtown. Jessica took lots of time to look at my photo and drawer and then showed me several pieces they were working on in various stages of completion. We agreed on a price $500.00. This included pick up and delivery, stripping it down to bare wood, staining to my color choice and a finish coat. This was in May, I had to stop in several times to approve the stripping, approve the stain color as it was applied to my piece and then final inspection before they delivered back to me in August. It is now the best looking piece in my place. They did a great job. The finish was flawless and to my surprise even the inside of the drawers were done as nice as the outside. The final test was when my granny came over, When she saw it she had to sit down and stare, as she cried a little she said it was more beautiful then when she got it as a girl. I don't think there was a dry eye in the room. So nothing to compare then to in my experience, but in my case they are grandmother approved !

So I've been coming to Nabil's for years (his name means Noble). I thought for sure I'd left him a…read morereview before, but alas no. Here it goes... Nabil is not just an ordinary tailor. He studied art in Paris and is a full blown fashion designer in his own right capable of totally redesigning and creating clothes from scratch. His shop is small and unassuming but his professional expertise is second to none. His prices are completely reasonable and I bet if you shopped around you would see they are actually a bargain especially for someone of his skill. At 6'4" 200# I've always had a problem with pant length and blousy shirts that billow out at the waist. As an adult I'm totally done with clothes that don't fit properly and will not subject myself to looking and feeling like a clown. His opinion is honest and informed and is geared towards making you happy not charging you more. It is very refreshing to be honest and I know he will steer me in the right direction when I'm honest in return. In this world you get what you give, so I will say leave your attitude at the door or don't come in if you believe you are more important than everyone else. Does Nabil have an attitude? For sure but it's an attitude that has serviced and treated people from all walks of life equally and as human beings. We're all flawed which is why we all need a good tailor.

I guess the previous owner of this laundromat must have sold it to a new owner! I've been coming…read morehere on and off for a few years now to wash random items that I prefer not to do at home like comforters and rugs. This particular trip, I had a small load of items to use since we had a small pipe leak in the laundry room which just ended up being a leaky faucet. Anyway, I've been to a few laundromats in my day, and they can get pretty ugly and gross. This one is really super nice, clean and affordable. Everything is in good working order. They have plenty of washing machines both double and triple loaders, along with an entire wall of dryers. The double loader washing machines are reasonably priced at about $2.25 I think? They look brand new too. The triple loaders are about $2.75 to wash and do a pretty good job. Their clean, don't smell and each load runs about 30 minutes long. Dryers are plentiful at 25 cents for 8 minutes. They also have a really nice change machine built into the wall with two slots for bills. I think it goes up to $20 for change to use in the machines. I also like that they have detergent, dryer sheets, Oxy clean and a few other incidentals for sale in a vending machine in case you need extra supplies. I think it's a dollar a box, which isn't bad. There's also a few folding tables with a couple metal carts to move your laundry around from machine to machine or to a table to fold. Plenty of garbage cans and the place is always clean. The only downside is I never see an attendant here, like ever. So, if money gets stuck in the machine, I think you have to call a phone #. I wish they had a human here for sure. Overall, a nice laundromat with plenty of space to move around, clean and in good working order. I will be back in the future!

I'm leaving a 1 star rating which I'll go through fully and explain my reasoning as to such…read more The neighborhood house clothes closet. This is now a former shell of what it use to be. For context I've been going here since I was a baby, now I'm currently a adult as we speak. When I was a child the staff there use to be extremely kind and greeted people, for clients such as what I and my parents fell under we were able to gain stuff to help us immensely due to low wages. Such as every month you can come in get 3 tops, 3 bottoms, a jacket or winter coat, a blanket/sheets every 6 months, socks, underwear, bra, shoes every 3 months. The staff there would even point out stuff to people there whenever they would have good items such as clothing or furniture, Because the clothes closet was intented for people not making enough money to get clothes on their back, and necessities. Not to mention everything they get is **donated** not sold to them it's given. They didn't have it open to the public originally due to it was connected to neighborhood house, however slowly they started to implement cost if clients wanted extra clothing however at highest something would cost was $5 at most and that's if it was furniture, and slowly was open to the public after years. But ever since they got new management they have become a former shell of what the use to be, now they're using their donations given to them to make a quick buck and it disgusts me. Clients now can only go 6 months out of the year when 2 years prior they could go every month because it was intended for families who make less money. You can only get a winter jacket and light jacket once every 2 years (so if you have growing children good luck keeping them warm) and same thing for bedding. Next they now have become full on money goblins, everything they have is given/donated to them and they are taking those donations and selling them for ridiculously high prices raging as high as $100. In fact they are even putting aside items for resellers to buy off them before anyone else can get to them which I overheard the visit I had today. Furthermore they now have implemented tables/racks that clients cannot even get items off them for free like this was intended for selling purses as high as 20-60 dollars. And due to them now trying to make a quick buck their racks are over filled to the brim with clothes to the point you can hardly move the clothing to see what's there in the racks at times, especially the coats it's absolutely ridiculous. And last their staff is extremely disrespectful. Everytime I try to great them I'm always met with a scoff or annoyed sigh, and they nit pick the clothing like it's coming out their own wallet. Overall I'm disgusted at the Neighborhood houseclothes closet it's a former shell of what it use to be and is now a money grab for resellers or outrageous prices. If you want to donate high valuable stuff to reach a family in need, don't do so here I'd suggest Facebook market place and putting it up for free for or gods helping hand if you want your donations to hit a family in need because they'll use your items here for a quick buck, and very limited for families who actually need it.
