Very sad to see that this Rock & Brews is closing. I have been going to their locations since the El Segundo one opened so many years ago. I have been to the El Segundo, Redondo Beach, Buena Park, Downey, Orlando, Florida, and this one at the colony since moving to Texas. I love them all. Great environment, awesome music, and amazing food. I'm glad at least there's the one in Grapevine. I will have to drive the extra 10 minutes to go to that one now which is fine I'm not complaining, but the colony one was very convenient. The service this night was also amazing. The food came in great proportions. They had quite a selection of options to choose from on the menu. We had a BYO pizza and a kids cheese, pizza, and the sweet heat chicken. So we were at a nearby furniture store mega mall (), and had already tried the BBQ joint around the corner, and was looking to try something new... and what better than some good ol' Americana cuisine, brews, and some Rock n Roll?!! Talk about a fun atmosphere! This place had so many nifty memorabilia on the walls that I related to (Especially the KISS skull heads). The place was jammed packed, and we considered ourselves lucky to get a table. The live music was jamming some classic rock and sounded great! Folks of various ages were out there dancing away, with not a care in the world who was watching. Something liberating about that, I guess. Our experience with the staff was spot on, despite how busy the place was, we never were left parched or unattended to. We started out with some spirited drinks and a couple of appetizers. Plenty to go around and damn right delicious. I had the Nu Fashioned and my better half had the Ginny Hendrix. I believe we also split a Mango Rockin' Margarita (XL)... all of which was perfectly balanced in every way. Not too strong and not too sweet... hats off to the bartenders. We shared some Crispy Calamari and Sgt. Pepper Jalapeño Poppers before diving into our meals. My wife had the Crispy Chicken Sandwich and I had the Key Club Turkey BLTA Sandwich. What's the A in the BLTA, you ask? Avocado baby!! All in all, we had a great time of nostalgia while eating, drinking, yapping it up with friends, and of course... ROCKIN' to the music! Got seated right away the decorations are entertaining by itself with displays of different rockstar icons and awesome theme even for somebody who doesn't listen to rock, cool place to stop by. I absolutely love this place. I came here during lunch and just wanted to try it out and get a quick drink. The place is enormous and has the best rock andnroll vibe with paintings and pictured. Was sat immediately and given menus. Menus were a bit faded and hard to read but honestly wasn't the biggest of deals. Our wonderful server, I feel so terrible I forgot their name but I came on 3/25 at around 2-2:30pm so I hope management can find out who they were and please recognize them for their outstanding service. We ordered the Calamari (lemon basil dressing needs to be offered on everything) and the Quesabirria with a locust cranberry cider. We went here for dinner to celebrate a birthday for a friend. It was ok. 1) It's very loud. We were lucky that it wasn't crowded too or else I never would have heard anyone else. 2) Food is so-so. I got a filet steak, which I knew was a bad choice just looking at the place. It's a burger and beer joint, don't expect great food here. The steak I got was most definitely not a filet. The cut was, ok, but certainly not a filet. And I know - you - the owner or whatever is thinking "Why didn't he say something?" - It was our server's FIRST DAY and we were the FIRST TABLE EVER for him. So there. Sometimes you can't. Also, I didn't want to be the one guy complaining at a party. The steak I got was chewy and a little bit of gristle but not what I was expecting. Drinks are OK. They have a few special mixers. The "Nu Fashioned" was good. We also had their pretzel which was all right. It has an "outdoor" section - kind of - it's a nice covered other room separate from the main dining area and I think you can bring your dog there which is kind of awesome. The queso and chips appetizer stole the show for me! The queso was extremely seasoned and tasty! My wife got the fish and chips. The fish didn't seem to be seasoned, but it was fried perfectly. She had to add salt and extra malt vinegar. Her loaded fries were good. I had the birria dip. It was my first time trying birria. I enjoyed the sandwich, but it definitely requires the dip because the sandwich was a bit dry. The atm is very nice here with the old school rock music videos playing around you. The service was pretty good. The employees help each other out when the other is occupied, so that's always a good thing. I'd definitely come back, but I would try another dish and my wife would, too. read more

Order a basic hamburger no cheese. First hamburger was brought with cheese. The second hamburger the meat was raw. So I had to return it. Would I come here again no. You get one chance to do it right. Believe it or not there's an order in which a hamburger or sandwich is built. Meat on bottom, not the lettuce or tomatoes so you place the mustard there next to the meat. Then on top of the meat you place your lettuce, tomatoes and onions. Then your ketchup and mayo. Seriously disappointed that they don't even understand the basics of how to make a hamburger. read more

Came in today with a party of four. They were fairly busy but I've seen other locations busier. Hostess said it would be about 10 minutes, okay not too bad. Then a group of 5 came in, we moved out of their way so they could check in with a man (hostess had walked away) and they were told "a couple minutes". New group was still standing in front of us when the hostess came back and sat them first. Then she came back and grabbed a party of 3. When my husband said something to her she said they were waiting...okay, fine but the other group was definitely not. After that, and the way she responded we just left. Can't comment on the food at this location, obviously. And will definitely not be coming back but other locations have great food and great customer service. read more

My husband and I had an okay experience at this establishment. For a Sunday evening, there wasn't that many people during the dinner times but service was still rather slow. Our server was a nice guy though and it appeared that he was a trainee. Not entirely sure what happened but he only came by twice during the entire service to check on us and one last time to help us get checked out. One thing that would've needed improvement was I wish he would've refilled our drinks without prompts instead. The place itself was clean and had a good atmosphere. We arrived for lunch and it was freezing inside! They had the huge glass doors all open and the ceiling fans were spinning like a top. We had to put our jackets back on it was so cold. They finally closed the doors and turned on the heat. I split the cheeseburger and fries with my lunch date and the food was just so-so. The French fries had a texture to them but no real potato flavor. The hamburger bun was really good but the hamburger patty wasn't as good as it looked. The spicy chicken tenders weren't spicy or tender. I had to ask for a bottle of pepper sauce to give them some flavor. The french fries were another disappointment. I waited almost 15 mins before someone came over to offer us a menu or anything. And the person that came was the guy working behind the bar. Service wasn't the best. We went for our dogs birthday and he ate his meal all up! The waiter brought him a dog bowl of water without us having to ask. We were playing cornhole and he informed us our food was ready since we couldn't see our table from where we were playing. This is an awesome place!   I had a small party for my daughter's 21st birthday here, and we all had a blast. They were kind enough to take my daughter's birthday cake and store it in their kitchen until we were ready for it. When I gave our server the go-ahead for the cake, they put the cake toppers on, lit the candles, and brought out the cake with dessert plates and utensils. Our server even sang Happy Birthday with us. It was such a relief that I didn't have to worry about anything, I was just able to sit back and enjoy myself.   The food here is excellent, everything tasted fresh and delicious. They have a wide variety of menu options to choose from, and if you're Vegetarian or Vegan like me, you won't be left out. I had the Impossible Burger and it was delicious.   There are three dining areas to Rock & Brews, inside is posh with nice leather seats and booths, a beautiful mural, and artwork of some popular Rock Stars we all know. The patio has windows that open up, very comfortable patio chairs, foosball table, corn hole, and other games. It's nice to get up, stretch your legs, and play some games, especially when entertaining a group. There is also an outside area we didn't get to see on this trip.     Michael was our server; he was absolutely fantastic! He was very personable, attentive, kept our drinks full, spaced-out the appetizer and entrees perfectly, and kept checking in with me to see when I was ready for him to bring the birthday cake. Since my daughter was now 21, he spent some time talking with her to see what kind of drinks she may like based on her tastes. This really made her feel like a VIP. Michael really made this day special for all of us, and we were grateful to have him.   Overall, I highly recommend Rock & Brews for excellent service, fantastic food, and going above and beyond to make our experience a memorable one. Dallas, Texas, my first visit on a business trip After a successful meeting with the client, I was soooo happy. So I came to Rock & Brews, The Colony branch, to celebrate with draft beer by myself. It was around 3:30 p.m. Since it was already past lunch time there were not many customers in the restaurant. After being guided by the host, I took a seat at the bar and looked through the menu for what beer to drink. The person sitting next to me recommended a beer brewed at Karbach Brewing Co. in Texas. So I ordered the beer to try. Love Street Blonde Beer by Karbach Brewing Co. is a Kölsch-style beer that has a good flavor and goes down well, making it the perfect beer to drink on a hot day. The Crispy Calmari I had with beer at the recommendation of Bartender, James, also went well with beer. Next time I visit, I will try other beers and other foods. Highly Recommended!! read more

Music ranged from 60's to current rock n roll. We states with drinks and appetizers. The poppers was our favorite. The cocktails were very enjoyable. The food was very delicious and made to perfection. While we there, there was a band jammin' out in the patio area, they were very good and was packed full. Rock & Brews The Colony is one of my favorite places to frequent for any type of food. Brunch, lunch, dinner I'm in there. I especially love the desserts all though I have to say the portion size is so much I have to share. The food is always fresh. I noticed I never finished my previous review so this is a combination of of more than one. It's a Father's Day, my son's 20th birthday celebration and just a normal "drop in" outing review. Serenity is a great server/ hostess if she available on your visit ask for her. I also love how attentive John on management staff and Kirsten with reservations/accommodations made me feel like family. Sorry I don't have a lot of pics of food because I think reviews shouldn't always be about the food but sometimes about the smiles and fun that was caused and had by the high frequency vibes emitted from the experiences! I'm telling you...each piece of food I ate was delicious. I think the best thing I had was the fries. Hands down, the best most fresh fries ever. Pairs well with their ranch. Now, I knew there was hot sauce on the burger, but I needed to get the whole experience without removing any ingredients. I cried, literally. My eyes were watering at the beginning and whew, but it was very good. It was just the first bite that had me wanting a gallon of milk, but I survived and ATE IT ALL. The poppers, purple rain drops, and the bread pudding we also had, were all so so good. There was other food, but weren't pictured - wings, steak sandwich, pulled pork quesadilla, and bread pudding. All delicious! I did enjoy the decorations in the bathroom, by the way. Very rock n roll! The only downside was the plumbing wasn't working properly, but that's another issue. read more

This was our first time visiting Rock and Brews. The restaurant reminds me of Hard Rock cafe because it has a lot of music memorabilia decorating the whole restaurant. The restaurant had a nice long beer selection, and some interesting margaritas. The menu had your typical bar food (e.g., sandwiches, wings, burgers, and salads). We ordered the Sweet and Spicy Asian wings and the Caribbean Jerk Wings (dry rub) between the 4 of us to share. Between the 2, I definitely liked the sweet and spicy wings better than the Caribbean jerk wings. Usually I love dry rubbed wings, but this one wasn't as tasty as I'd hope. Every time I go to this place, I feel like you have to beg for service and the place doesn't even be packed. The outside board bartenders are blah last time I went. I ordered some fries and the girls spent the ranch on my plate and she laughed about it and said I just spilt a little bit. I guess you can really consider this ranch on the side. We came here for a family birthday lunch on a Saturday Feb 2025. Our experience was just ok. The weekday lunch menu insert stays in the menu full time which caused some confusion for our party. The reason given is "because the happy hour menu is on the back " Only a tiny portion of the "happy hour menu" even applies to the weekend, refer to the pic I took. Our waitress expressed frustration over this as well. I will say the decor and ambience was pretty cool if you are a music/rock lover. Lots of cool murals and artifacts displayed. The food was just ok, I would compare the menu offerings to a Chili's. My steak tacos were good, except the meat was clearly stored in some kind of juice/broth and when scooped out was not drained, resulting in a flash flood of liquid out the back of the taco when eating. The burgers and pizza were fine according to my family members. I mentioned a birthday in our open table reservation but it seems like they don't even refer to it, not sure why they even use it. Daughter and I went here for a casual Saturday lunch. We were seated right away. They were pretty busy but we were greeted quickly. We ordered a glass of wine and a cocktail. These took a bit to get to the table but they were great once they arrived. We ordered the pretzel to start us off. The presentation was good but the pretzel was very dry. The mustard and beer cheese were great which was lucky for us because you needed the sauces to counteract the dry pretzel! We ordered the chicken bacon ranch pizza for an entree to share and it's a good size for two. We ended up taking some home. They put a flavorful garlic bust seasoning on the crust and that was good. The pizza was better than the pretzel but it wasn't anything special. All in all, it was fine but I won't be in a rush to come back. read more

This is my 2nd time visiting this restaurant. This time my party of 3 sat inside. The décor in the inside was musical. Remember to look up at the ceiling! This restaurant is known around town for great cocktails, music, and fun. The pretzel on my first visit was perfect. The pretzel on my second visit was inedible this time. It was a bit like a crouton and the beer sauce was a bit burnt. Which was disappointing. They really should have thrown it out and start again. We then proceeded to order a second appetizer. This Louisiana girl wanted something season full and hot. The Jalapeno Pepper Poppers were fresh, hot, and perfect. The chicken pasta and Cajun pasta were delicious.
