We love our pool. It took a bit of time to construct and the crew wasn't the cleanest, but very happy with the quality of construction.

Lack integrity, dishonest, and greed. From the very beginning we had our concerns given there Google rating. It all began when we decided where we could place the spa equipment. We have a big Eucalyptus tree and behind it would be perfect and out of sight so we thought. Kenny agreed to the locating and proceeded to paint out the dimensions, 3' x 9' requiring a depth of 18 in. which was within the required measurements. When the crew arrived Chuck (owner) stated they could not lay the equipment there because it would kill the Eucalyptus tree....not true and I was willing to hire an Arborist. The truth was Chuck didn't have the means or equipment, given the space, to take on the excavation and his staff later confirmed that with us.....Chuck your dishonest. Secondly, Kenny suggested the equipment be placed in front of the Sunroom, I did not think the wife would agree because who would want to look out the Sunroom and see equipment, so I told Kenny to hold off until I spoke with her, however, when I came home from work I discovered the excavation had already taken place and the existing concrete had been cut and removed. The wife was furious. I called Kenny and he had no answer apparently there wasn't any communication with his staff to hold off on the excavation....complete disaster. Thirdly, the 70 sq. feet of slate that we used for the floor and partial steps of the spa looked great and we decided we wanted the remainder slate on the 2nd step of the spa which was an additional 30 sq. ft. Originally we purchased a crate of slate from National and the crate of would cover 130 sq. ft which was more than enough to cover the 2nd step. We expressed our interest to Chuck, however, since it wasn't in the original contract he stated he would sell me back the unused slate...that would equate to a 110% mark up.......pure Greed! Fourthly, the concrete that was cut was supposed to be replaced with a French drain (layers of sand, crushed rock under a layer of gravel) that was what Kenny had proposed and we agreed upon. Upon completion, Kenny assured us that it what was done that way, however, my security camera indicate otherwise, there was no layers rather it was all gravel......Dishonest. Fifthly, the crew do not have portable toilets so they use our flowerbed as a urinal....unprofessional and disgusting. Lastly, the spa cover was supposed to be cut to the dimensions of the spa but instead they dropped off an oversize square shape cover that looks hideous. We would not recommend Rock Bottom Pool. read more

We had a great experience with Rock Bottom Pools! All the staff was very nice and we were so impressed with their contractors who came. All of them were very friendly, professional and answered any questions we had. The process was easy and so quick! They gave us exactly what we asked for and finished well before the original completion date. The only "negative" thing I have to say is that I would've liked a little more communication as far as when contractors were coming or directions once the pool was filled. With that being said-if ever we called for questions they did answer everything in detail. We just had to call. Highly disappointed I entered a contract back in July, I paid cash for my pool, after several months of complaining about my discoloration on my concrete and the my plaster needing to be repaired they sent someone, to drain my pool and repair the plaster, the owner came out and said the discoloration is normal, my highly expensive pool looks terrible and all they can say is nothing can be done to fix the concrete, if the ready mix is the issue and it making the concrete look like this something has to be done. How is this the customer fault or how are we not getting this resolved, the way they resolved it is by sending someone to treat the concrete and each time it just made it worst. The most important piece which is the cement that makes the pool elegant is ruined. The picture speaks for it self. read more

Due to substandard poor workmanship my dream pool remains a gunite hole in my backyard YEARS later. The owner of Rockbottom Pools Chuck Holmes and Subcontractor for concrete work at the time Adam Stone refused to remedy problematic substandard work, then Rockbottom's lawyers cancelled my contract and then they abandoned the project. Pool project Won't pass city code and has also issued a citation. California state licensing board has cited Rockbottom Pools on multiple items after they (CSLB) hired an Industry Expert who found many problems. I spent Thousands of dollars to hire an additional Industry Expert who found even more problems. Rockbottom Pools still refused to accept responsibility to remedy and repair. I had no other option but spend thousands of dollars more on legal representation which the process is still ongoing. These are the unfortunate facts of my personal experience of a nightmare that I would never wish on anyone else. I hope my honest factual review will help others. read more

Well, 16 months later and one of my pool jets is completely blocked with quartz and has stopped. I called Rock bottom 4x and they told me someone would call me back to discuss my warranty. No call back. No, "hey we can fix it and charge you this". I get it if it's out of warranty but a clogged jet? I took off the trim and pulled out a 6 inch piece of quartz. I guess the line is filled with quartz. Don't fall for their salesmen. Once the construction starts so do the nightmares. read more

Rock Bottom built my pool October of 2023 and they have been amazing to work with. I had a couple small issues that I needed taken care of and they were out the next day with their crew to get it done. If your thinking about having a dip pool or splash pool which are small in size and very shallow ( around 4ft. in depth ), regular square shape ( 10x10, 8x8, or anything smaller ) price starts at $40,000 they said. Had our swimming pool built last summer by Rock Bottom Pools and have enjoyed it so much. Kenny came out and designed a computer rendering of the pool shape using the dimensions of our backyard and it surpassed my expectations. They built an awesome retaining wall, rock waterfall and fire pit. The pool equipment they use for their basic package has worked very well and is actually probably the best equipment on the market. With their busy summer schedule last year they were still able to finish the pool in time for a few months of swimming. They use their own work crew to do almost all of the work with the exception of gunite and concrete decking. The only problem we've had is keeping our Yorkshire Terrier out of the pool, he loves swimming in it! Thanks again Rock Bottom Pools and Kenny for making our backyard paradise. read more

We got a ridiculous quote from them, obviously the sales guy (wont mention any names) did NOT listen when we told him what we wanted in our design. Took him weeks to get back to us. Then when we told him the changes we wanted and followed up with an email, we have yet to hear back and it's been 2 months. Would never use them! Poor customer service and horrible and getting back to customers. Obviously they don't want our business! Would rather support a more friendly family oriented company willing to listen to their customer and provide a higher leave of service. We researched all local pool companies for our pool. We decided to go with Rock Bottom since we heard good reviews about them. We had visited their show room and looked at their pools and waterfalls since we had decided to do a waterfall and slide. Construction started as scheduled. Things seemed to progress in a timely manner. But after awhile things came to a stop. I called every day to see what was going on and the receptionist said the owner made out the schedule every morning at 6:00 a.m. We were not on the schedule for quite awhile, even though I told them this was not acceptable we were just as important as any other customer. We paid cash for the pool, which for some reason the owner didn't really car for and we paid on time. Their workers were using my yard as a trash can to throw away their lunch.I complained to the company and they said they would talk to them about it, but this kept happening. I'm not talking about the materials they used because they left that to clean up later. At one point when they had built our waterfall I told the owner that i was not happy with it because it was not what I requested. He was very rude and said well what do you want me to do about it, I wanted what I was paying for which was a $7,000 waterfall and slide. When I asked for them to come clean the rocks on the waterfall and the cement that was left on the rocks their employee laughed at me and when I called the project manager to come over he told my husband we were very difficult customers. I found out that I was not the only customer with complaints, other people were not happy with the waterfall they thought like me that they were ugly and no one cared. We had other people in our neighborhood who were thinking about building a pool, at first I would have recommended them but after all the problems we had with them I would tell people to stay away from them. The pool school they offer is a joke, it took them a month to come over and finish some very small stuff, I sent several e-mails and they were ignored. read more
