I've come here many times over the years, most often it was for a work meeting or team happy hour, but most recently it's because I have a gift card that never seems to end. It has a prime Pruneyard location, but I always wonder how it sticks around because the food isn't good. The service is always fine and the atmosphere is fun, they have a good size patio, and there's lots of sports on TV, but the food is just so mediocre. I've gotten everything from flatbreads, nachos, burgers, sliders, cocktails, beers, I've tried a lot of it, and it's always so meh. I think the best thing I've had here are the nachos and a flatbread, but I've had a couple different flatbreads and they can very much be a miss. Dated, kinda dingy and the only Rock Bottom restaurant still standing in California. Food is more like a Sizzler's, Applebee's or Chili's while cocktails are ultra sweet and coarse like at a dive bar, not worth the prices. Bartenders are so nice though, and some brew the beer in their kegs :) Lots of interesting taps, and there's a happy hour for cheap eats. Service is very sweet so it makes up for the rest. What a long night my son and I had after he hit a pothole on 17 and it took us basically three hours to get the car towed!! I was so glad this particular restaurant was open at 10:30 PM!! We were starving and tired and cold from waiting for a tow truck! I was really excited to have a Happy hour beer which was really delicious!! $3 - perfect! My son was able to get a whole plate of ribs and I got fish and chips so we're actually pretty decent since it was so late at night and I'm pretty sure they were frozen. Lol I have a number of stupid food allergies so I was really happy I could eat fish and chips and not have any allergic reaction!! my son loved his ribs and only ate half of them and then saved the rest for later. We were thoroughly impressed with the service, especially since the server had 5 existing tables before us in the bar area. Everything was rather dark, but like a normal sports bar and the environment was interesting with weather and news on, which was great for me since I was missing my 11 PM news anyways. Pretty underwhelming visit to Rock Bottom I have to say. I used to frequent the chain and haven't had it in years so figured it was a nice place to grab a bite and drinks. The menu is your standard 'American' bistro: complete with burgers, flat bread pizzas, starters and steak. I choose the Nashville chicken pizza as I thought it sounded intriguing. It was literally chicken strips layed atop a flat bread. Even the sides left much to desire. 3.5 to be honest but I feel okay rounding up. Fiancée and I had plans to watch a 930pm move at Pruneyard so decided to grab a bite and finish the football game at Rock Bottom. Lots of seating and lots of TVs everywhere which is a plus. Got seated at the bar right away. I was itching for an espresso martini, it wasn't on their cocktail menu but they made me one which I really appreciated. Parmesan Garlic Fries 5/5: my favorite thing! Lots of garlic and perfect fries. Chicken wings 4/5: flavor was good but I like my wings crispier. Nashville hot chicken pizza: I liked the concept. The chicken was good. I think the dough was just so slightly doughy. I had to dock a point cause some of the plates and silverware were dirty. On the front of the menu it says elevated food and drinks. She kept checking on us, bringing refills of food and drink, wasn't bothered when we weren't all ordering together. Beer selection could be better, IMO. For a place that has Brewery in their name, II thought there'd be more options, but the hazy IPA I had was pretty good. But a very weird name (Juice #32) and I don't know if they recognize the significance. IPAs are usually referred to as juicy when they have that IPA "bite", but OJ Simpson was called The Juice and wore #32 with the Bills. So I'm not sure if this is an homage to OJ (weird) or they're not aware. But the beer was good. Food was meh. Typical fried, bar bites and other stuff, but it was okay. This place has probably the slowest service I've ever experienced of any establishment. It took a long time to even be greeted at the front, the host who had taken us to our seats... everything. It's like you're moving in slow motion just to find mediocre food and an ok ambiance. It's still a good value, with lots of beer options (although sometimes they do run out of flavors) and you can often find seating on a busy weekend. Last time I had the veggie burger and fries ($14). I really appreciate that the veggie burger is made in house but it was soggy and undercooked and falling apart. The waitress was awesome and said she could swap it out, but I was on a time crunch. The Pinot (OR) was pretty good. The onion rings were okay. $6 for onion rings happy hour pricing, which she said was a good price. On a Friday night we were seated right away and they were able to provide a table that fit our stroller. This is a great place for beer and appetizers and is family friendly. The service needs improvement in terms of cleanliness--our seats were dirty--as well as the timeliness of food delivery, especially considering we had young children with us. However, the beverages were served promptly. We were the first customers in the restaurant when it opened at 11 a.m. Since it was a weekday, there were only a few other people inside and outside, so we expected that our food would arrive quickly. Unfortunately, we had to wait about 45 minutes. With the children getting restless, we didn't manage to take any pictures of the shareables or main dishes; we simply dove into the food as soon as it arrived because we were so hungry. Did we leave a tip? Yes, we did, to appreciate the staff's service. It wasn't their fault; perhaps the cook was just taking his time with the dishes. I like Pruneyard, but will I return? We came today, drawn by our positive past experiences with their decent beer and food. However, since the recent change in ownership back in February , our experience has notably declined. Upon arrival, we were promptly seated outside on a beautiful day. Despite this, it took approximately 15 minutes before anyone approached our table, and it wasn't even our assigned waitress; another staff member took our order. She also took other tables that were assigned to our original waitress who was complaining about this earlier. Afterward, it took an additional 15 minutes to receive our waters and drinks. After an hour, we received our appetizer--the fried pickles. While the accompanying dressing was delicious, the pickles themselves were disappointing: burnt and clumped together in the batter, resembling a ball rather than individual chips. Priced at $17, they were certainly not worth it; a more appropriate price would be around $10. Our waitress was very sweet, and it appeared that only two servers were working, despite the restaurant not being crowded. We had yet to receive our main dishes--a pizza and a salad. Additionally, they were out of half their beers, including all IPAs, which is surprising for a place that brews its own beer. This has been, by far, our worst experience here. Whatever issues are occurring in the back of the house are significantly affecting the guests. I would not recommend coming here if you want to avoid long waits, even for basic items like water. It was just not a very professional experience. If I compare how the servers looked, dressed and acted to literally any other food establishment at the Pruneyard, it puts this place at the Rock Bottom. It's a place where you can watch any sporting events in a very comfortable bar with mass large televisions for viewing from every corner of the place. Great time watching the Olympics. Also if you are craving a craft brew you can't go wrong with this place. Now let's get down to business....the food. I definitely recommend getting here in time for Happy hour. The entire restaurant no matter where you sit is part of happy hour and that is rare. Also the happy hour portions are regular size not cut in half like most places so it really is a great value. We had onion rings, fried pickles and mozzarella sticks. They were good and surprisingly not greasy. I do have to say the mozzarella sticks were very basic. I had the Habanero Chicken and it was very tasty. The glaze had just the right kick and I like my food very spicy. My hubby had the Chicken Fried Chicken. It had a light creamy gravy. Allot of times gravies out in a restaurant can be very bland but not here it had real flavor. Rock Bottom is a restaurant I wanted to love with a nice spacious interior, lots of TVs, impressive bar, interesting menu, and friendly service -- but the food I had here was so uninspiring that I find it difficult to recommend this over other options -- though the menu makes claims of elevated eats. What I experienced was fairly standard bar food -- which didn't really stand out either in terms of flavors or textures. The chicken tenders were alright, not really overcooked but not really juicy either. The batter on them was fairly standard and a little crisp -- but not really as good as options from popeyes or KFC for me. The this is q'd up! and sweet smokey glaze sauces didn't really impress either, which tasted similar to sauces I could buy off the shelf in the supermarket. The brisket sandwich was a bit lacking in flavor, with meat that wasn't incredibly tender and very mild flavor. The waffle fries that came with the meal were semi-crispy and didn't have much flavor outside of the salt. I have never experienced such horrible customer service in my life. ZERO STARS. when it was time to pay i asked to speak to the GM. Even the GM was dragging her heels. took a few minutes to come speak with a patron. My visit to Rick Bottom Brewery was very disappointing. My family and I dined there on a Sunday at around 8:30.L and there weren't many people at the restaurant. Despite it being so empty, service was insanely slow. It took our server 20 minutes to get our water and probably 40 minutes to get our nachos and bison waffle fries. For a place that's barely had any customers, this was unacceptable. When the food did finally come it was just mediocre. The nachos are extremely spicy even though we got jalapeños on the side. The spicy sauce overpowered the nachos that I barely tasted any of the flavors. She even forgot the sour cream which she eventually bought over after 15 minutes. This was the worst 19 bucks I've spent in my life and I left with a stomach ache. The waffle fries were better but came in a tiny portion. The bison meat was flavorful but definitely not worth 10 bucks. Overall, we had a bad experience and I'm shocked with the poor quality of service. I won't be coming back again. Went to rock bottom last night for dinner for the first time in almost 15 years. It was a pretty good experience all around. It took almost 5 minutes on a Thursday evening for someone to walk over the host stand and seat us but once they did, the service from there on out was really good. Our server was attentive and friendly. We got the Bavarian pretzel sticks with queso dip as an appetizer and they came out piping hot and were delicious! We ordered the chicken fried steak and the top sirloin with mac & cheese substituted for the mashed potatoes. Both were solid. I wish the steak had come with some kind of flavored butter or sauce but it was juicy and cooked well. The mac & cheese had a great taste but needed more sauce . The chicken fried steak was super juicy and flavorful. I ordered a lemon drop and it was pretty good too.
