Good seafood restaurant. Their first location was more original. It is what it is. I like it.

Checked out the new location. Sad to say the quality has sharply declined. Their burgers used to be one of the best in town. Now they are dry and bland. The fried shrimp were also no good. They used to be crisp and crunchy, but now they are soggy and greasy. Also kinda pricy and a long wait, spent over $35 and completely regretted it. I can't believe that I've not reviewed this place before. The service was quick and friendly and my half and half tea was perfect. At the Cairo location I usually get fish and shrimp. That's what I ordered here. Cheese grits are great and the green beans were flavorful. They were out of mullet and backbones that are usually good. This is my go to place for seafood. read more

Food was mediocre. Smelled like grease floating in the air so we sat outside. Waitress did not even try to arrange a single table for two people. She did not bring condiments such as napkins, salt, pepper or sweeteners. The portions did not equal the price. Way overpriced. No butter on baked potatoes which were tennis ball size. read more

This is where the locals go. This was the 5th time we ate here. Drove 30 miles from tally. Worth it every time. The service was excellent even though they only had two servers. My tea glass never got low and the phenomenal seafood was at or table in approx 10 minutes. When ever I get a great seafood meal I always crave key lime pie. The service was really good but the food compared to other seafood places to me was sub par. I ordered the catfish filet platter with cheese grits and fries. It's a nice little hometown seafood restaurant that does a great job preparing their food. Service is pretty quick whether to go or not. Reminds me a lot of the restaurants in New Orleans Louisiana and surrounding area, just as good too. The seafood is from Florida coast and it's what they get from the gulf. Thankfully their shrimp NOT imported from overseas. I will need to try other things on the menu to rate them better, but so far the fried oysters fish and shrimp make me want to keep going back. Dined at the Thomasville location Saturday. Not impressed. Ordered a regular order of shrimp that was 15.00. I got 6 shrimp which was small. Food was cold and the wait was long considering when we were there. The shrimp was served on a small salad plate so you could imagine the size of the shrimp. a lot of folks that came in after us had their food way ahead of ours and we didn't order anything out of the normal for a seafood restaurant. The pics on yelp do not represent reality. This place is a small shack, packed with tables and chairs. The menu online is not the same ( no grouper or pangasuies), the catfish was small the type you throw back when fishing! The condiment containers were greasy, hot sauce was rancid, the food was barely warm and not seasoned, the shrimp was large and tough, they smelled like cake batter. I was so disappointed in the appearance. The salad was straight from a bag "not the Greek salad in the pictures, there was no brick walkway with landscape! The restroom was atrocious. I live in the Atlanta area and was visiting my boyfriend's family near Cairo. They asked us to dinner and Rock Bottom in Cairo is the establishment they frequent. After getting our drinks I asked for a replacement because I didn't like the tea. I told my boyfriend the tea tasted like it had been refrigerated. Our waitress (a heavy set female with glasses) I don't remember her name loudly commented from across the restaurant that their tea is not refrigerated. If she had come to our table to make me aware of this I would not be upset but that was not the case. I'm very disappointed in how unprofessional she was. The Aunt and I ordered Mahi Mahi and it had to be returned because it was over cooked even after she asked for it not to be. It was very dry and noticeably overcooked. Needless to say we won't be returning. There are other options and other towns including Tallahassee that would be worth the drive for a better and respectful service. read more

All of the food is good. The problem can be select seating at times. I think that speaks for the good taste of the food and the great service. I've had the coleslaw, cheese grits, hushpuppies, cat fish and shrimp. (I have not tried the Tilapia as most of it is imported). The shrimp are extra large. To be honest I always eat the child's portion and it's plenty to eat which is about $9. On a Friday or Saturday just try to get there a little earlier than the normal eating times. It is noisy in there so turn down your hearing aid or turn it up so you can hear your own conversation. The building has a low-slop ramp for easy access for the disabled (like me). If there's no room here, then try Hot Diggity Dog located to the left or behind this restaurant. You can walk to it. They have great food of all types as well. read more

I was introduced to Rock Bottom by someone who frequently travels to South Georgia for work. I have been at least 10 times for lunch a dinner during the week and weekend. The portions are huge, the quality is excellent and the cooking is consistent. The seasoning is exactly right. I usually order tilapia and shrimp dinner with cheese grits and fries. The hush puppies are crunchy on the outside and fluffy on the inside with a hint of onion. I can't finish all my food. Sometimes I order the kids portion. The "House wine of the South" Sweet Tea is PERFECT. The service is quick and friendly. The restaurant is clean, cozy and charming. When the inevitable remodel happens, I hope the owners will keep the quaint style. I enjoy restaurants that don't have that slick, franchise look and feeling. I came here because I heard great reviews from colleagues. Everyone raved about the portion and the quality. Portion size, yes. Great for the money. A child's plate was more than enough for me. I had the fish and oyster combo platter. $13. Included 2 sides and hush puppies. Plenty of oysters and 3 filets of fish. The fish - you get to choose from catfish, catfish filet, tilapia, grouper, and one other I can't remember. I picked the tilapia. The tilapia was...tilapia. The fish fry was flavorful and the fish, well, tasted like fish. The fried oysters, oh my. They were the most bland things I have ever had. Texture was far from oyster-like. The 2 sides I picked were green beans and coleslaw. Very ordinary. Nothing to write home about. The hush puppies were typical fare as well. Based on the packed dining room, you might think that the food was good but you would be wrong, wrong, wrong. The quality of the food was on par with Captain D's or Long John Silver, maybe not as good. The only difference is that they bring the food to you and there is carpet on the floor. The fried catfish is wonderful. They give you a huge portion. It is breaded, seasoned, and cooked well. They would get 5 stars if they would elevate their side items a bit. The hush puppies are great, but the baked beans are canned with no extras, and the fries are fries. I do think they give you a great portion of everything for the price. Service was good, but the restaurant needs a couple fewer tables in the dining areas because it is really crowded. read more
