I'm surprised Richard only has one review since he as so responsive on Yelp. I put out a quote request to multiple Yelp electricians and Richard was one of the few that responded effectively for my request for an estimate to install an outdoor outlet to charge an EV vehicle. Other electricians either did not respond, gave estimates way too high or too low, and did not walk through the process. Richard came out for a free assessment and was very flexible on scheduling right up to install completion. The job was installing wiring from the breaker to a location close enough for charging. The circuit was a 240v/30amp line to a bell box. The job was completed in a timely manner and looked professional. As chosen by my landlord, we decided to surface mount the line in pvc, but it still looks very clean and is more economical than other means of running the line. Richard also followed up afterwards to guarantee his work. I would recommend him to anyone looking for efficient communication, professional install, and great customer service. He works as if he still wants to earn your business which is great nowadays where many businesses have forgotten about that. read more

Richard responded to my yelp request in less than 5 minutes! Not only was his response quick, but he was able to give me a rough estimate where others just threw out their hourly rates. He offered to come out on a Sunday night but we told him Monday morning would be fine. He arrived on time and cheerful the next morning. He tested our circuit panel, told us the problem and said his labor quote would be exactly as quoted and the parts would be additional -- as expected -- no surprises! He did not try to up-sell the job or make it seem like a larger issue. I interviewed three electricians and Rock Electric (Richard) by far impressed me with their professionalism, knowledge of trade, recommendations, and translating technical aspects into layman's terms so I could understand. We had can lighting, a fan, and switches updated in several rooms; everything looks amazing. Rock Electric worked around my schedule and communicates effortlessly so that I never wondered about what was going on. Rock provides all licensing info on a comprehensive quote so that everything a home owner might take into consideration is already there. Richard answered the phone right away, gave me a quote and came within 30 minutes. He didn't find anything wrong except that we were resetting it incorrectly. AND he said there was NO CHARGE! I usually take care of electrical problems in my buildings, but this one stomped me. I got Yelp to send out for quotes and I got several responses. Richard from Rock Electric told me he can can fit me in the very same day, at the end of the day. Rock has few reviews here, but they are all solid, and he sounded real good on the phone and quoted me a reasonable price, so I told him to please come. We met at the appointed time, and he started investigating. It turns out, there was a reason why I was stomped. Without going into details, he figured it out. When he showed me the problem, I thought fixing it would entail a rather big job, but he made such a clever suggestion that I could then go get a part and fix it myself (which took, literally, five minutes). All in all, it was very much worth the price I paid, and I would definitely call on him should I get stomped again or should I need some major work that is beyond my skill level. read more

I started having issues with frequent power shut-offs and all of a sudden the power would not turn on in the living room. I contacted multiple electricians through Yelp and most of them were booked out 1-2 weeks. Rock Electric Service was one of the first ones to respond to my message. Richard was very helpful with providing me information, an estimate and scheduled me the same day. Lucky for me, there was a cancellation and they were able to send someone sooner. Valentin showed up on time and was very friendly. He was able to determine the issue and fix it. I don't own the house so Valentin was able to explain the situation in a way that I understood and was able to explain to my landlord. I asked Valentin a question about possible work for the future and he provided me with useful advice. The total price was also very affordable and very close to the initial estimate.
