Had a great early Sun morning watching the USA men's hockey game! The bar is quaint but great and Nicole the bartender was awesome! I come here frequently. The food is always great and so it the staff. They know gluten free and will work with u. I never have a problem. The patio is heated and comfortable even when super cold out. Go here. U will be so happy u did.

It looks like we accidently started a new tradition. This was the 2nd year we visited Rock Kitchen on the 1st Friday of Lent. We again both ordered the fish fry. The fish is flakey with a nice beer battered coating. The fries, which I look back and see were greasy last visit were fried better this time. Though I did think it was strange that there was a combination of straight & crinkle fries. They tasted ok though. Overall decent meal. 2925-17

This is a classic Buffalo NY tavern style place which offers covered outdoor seating. Perfect for an early summer evening. Service was great, offers specials and a wide menu. Steamed clams were on the menu but I went with a chicken gyro type pita sandwich which was delicious and the fries perfect too. Very casual with a good happy hour. On a Monday night it was very relaxing. Also offered a substantial veterans discount.

Food 4/5 generous beef patty, side of fries or onion rings (which were large and d delicious). Steak house burger with onions, mushrooms, A1 and Swiss cheese was in incredible. Just needed a little more salt, which is easy enough to sprinkle yourself. The spicy sweet sause for dipping fries was tasty. Tuesday is probably burger night - $2 off burgers! At least it was tonight. So my friend ordered the stuffed pepper burger. He enjoyed it. I enjoyed the margaritas on the rock with salt were yum and had a kick - after all we were at the Rock, so had to order on the rocks! Service 5/5 was excellent. Our waitress was super friendly and attentive. Made sure the heat lamp was turned on, as it was a bit chilly in the outdoor dining area. Ambiance - 5/5 casual. Clean and simple patio enclosed for now until it warms up outside. Reasonable prices for East Amherst. I will definitely come back.

We stopped here during the of the summer as part of our patio preview on a weekday afternoon We each had a burger and fries. The service was great and the good was pretty good. They have a large selection of burgers from classics to BBQ burgers. Everything was quite fresh. They had some great hand cut seasoned French fries. I enjoyed the ambiance, mainly because they had televisions hanging and you could watch sports or whatever. But the actual scenery is just the rocky parking lot. There is nothing that makes you feel like you are getting away ... I am a person who loves a great view ... I'd love to see them enhance the experience this spring and perhaps add more greenery around if possible.

We finally got around to checking this place out last week because we wanted to try something new with my mother in law. We were seated at a big table in an enclave so it almost felt like having a private room. There were a lot of fun seasonal drinks to choose from. I wish the almond joy was dressed up with some chocolate syrup, but it was good. Not great like similar drinks elsewhere, but good. The chocolate martini was better, but I really wanted to get my chocolate and coconut fix in the same drink. My husband raved about the lasagna. One son enjoyed his wings. The other enjoyed his chicken tenders. I forget what my MIL had, but she really liked it. I think the calamari was corn dusted. I prefer flour, but that's a matter of personal preference. The batter on the bang bang shrimp tasted like fried chicken somehow. I liked the sweet and spicy chili sauce, though. Next time I'll try a burger instead. Service was great.

We've heard some good things about this place so we had to stop and check it out. We waited at the host booth for a few mins before being seated and then an additional few minutes to place our drink order. First impressions were that the floor was clearly Mopped recently (standing water) and the table was a little sticky and could have used a better wipe. Drinks came quick though and we placed our food order. Kids love chicken tenders, theirs were decent sized but the one thing I think everyone likes is crispy fries. These were not. The house sauce though, I liked it. The misses gave the goat cheese pizza a lot of great praise, definitely one of the better ones she's had. The wings they're my thing.. I'll say they were entry . Solid effort on them though (decent sized, very thinly sauced, not crispy). I like bleu cheese and seeing different takes on it from place to place, but Ken's is the easy safe bet for bleu. We also got the wing soup (not pictured), very fancy bowling with rock written in hot sauce. Spicy, but a little too much for the misses but perfect for me. Loved it. Solid meal. Decent pricing. Will return.

The building always looked mysterious to me, because of the black and red theme colors they use. So I finally had to come and check Rock Kitchen out. Soon as you step in you see the bar, to the left there is the hostess stand. Once you speak to the hostess, you have a choice of sitting. In the patio section, or you can dine inside. The menu offers plenty of options such as, Burgers, salads and wings. Pretty decent tasting food and would come back again. Philly cheesesteak egg rolls- very cheesy and delicious Cajun dry rub wings- loved the crispy the wings were cook. Rub could be a little to much for some though. Garlic Parmesan wings- really good tasting and nice size wings Signature rock hot and sweet- again wings cooked perfect and the sauce was really good Cheddar burger- choice of cheese (but it's a up charge) Burger nice size and cooks with a side of fries, plus a side of aioli dipping sauce. I used some of the sauce for my burger, it was really good.

Decided since it was a Friday, we would get a Fish Fry. We settled on Rock Kitchen as where we would go. They don't have an online reservation system so I had to call to make a reservation. We took advantage of their early bird Fish Fry special. The Fish and the Cole Slaw were good but the fries were too greasy for my taste. It is served with a house made dipping sauce for the fries. I didn't care for the flavor of this mayonnaise based sauce but others seemed to enjoy it. Maybe if we came l later so that the french fry oil had more time to get hot, everything would have been worth a 5 star rating.

Also other nights when they have an in house magician perform at the tables especially ones with kids - it's really great and added a unique twist to the experience. The service staff and everyone in general seems to do a good job, although there is a lot going on at any time in this place. It's large like a brewery would be, with the vats in the back, with a garage feel and outdoor tables which is nice, and seems to be self serve which is a nice alternative to waiting for a table. There is a back patio with full service and lots of other areas within the restaurant to suit any size party. The reason I give it 3 stars is the food has been somewhat disappointing lately. Nothing earth shattering but to someone who is a long time customer, you start to notice the subtle changes likely brought on by the higher cost of the food no doubt. But they keep innovating, we lost the half price, dozen claims, but gained $4 tacos during the week, including a beef and chicken that are not usually on the menu. It's still a popular place and conveniently located just across the border in Niagara County on Transit Road. Lots of parking, I would recommend it to someone who is unfamiliar with the area and wants something not known for pizza or wings. And can bring the kids too.

It was not busy and we didn't have to wait for a table which is a plus. I ordered smoked turkey, with salad and sweet potato fries and a pg13 which was ginger beer, mint and I added a shot of vodka. When our food came out I had to question what was going on with the sweet potato fries because they had a thick coating and looked beer battered, not at all indicated on the menu. I asked the server, Kelsey W., and she paused and said yea I don't know for sure but if you can't have gluten I wouldn't eat them. I was annoyed at the situation and just took them off my plate but I understand this can happen. The server seemed annoyed and goes on to blame me and says I should have told her. Now will say I did have to go through the salad ingredients and pick most of them out, she didn't ask me about allergies either. And it's not common to add a beer batter coating to sweet potato fries without indicating it in the menu. The menu should be updated asap for other guests. Any other server would apologize for the situation and ask how they can make it better and not blame for a customer for a misunderstanding. After that I realized there was an extra sauce on the tray, I asked her to check with the kitchen to see what was in it, is it safe for me to eat? She came back 15 minutes later and said she will check and have an answer soon. It was not busy, this was not acceptable. Again clearly not showing any help for your guest with a food issue. This showed me she had zero concern or care about this or trying to smooth it over. Finally, towards the end of the meal I realized my water was leaking, had thought it was condensation as it was hot out. My glass, water cup had a huge crack in it. You would have hoped that someone would have seen it before serving it to someone. Clearly a safety issue. I hope I didn't ingest glass. I handed it back to our server and told her this glass needed to be tossed in the trash. Her response was another blank look, she didn't really care and just gave me another shallow I'm sorry. The rest of my meal was tasty and it was a large portion. Everyone else at my table had nice looking food and was happy with it. I will personally not come back here. District 37- it wouldn't hurt to update your menu and add what is gluten safe and indicate what kind of coating is on your sweet potato fries because a lot of people who choose these have special dietary needs. You should also train your staff to help bring up allergy issues with your guests and have more empathy if an issue arises. If this is something a server isn't able to work on they might consider an alternate employment opportunity.
