First time. Will be back. Cocktail was fair but I've been spoiled by Rochester's "Velvet Belly" which only a hotel bar in Ithaca has managed to come close to, and I've been looking for 5 years. Just enough jalapeño bite to keep things interesting. Sides: Mac and Cheese very good. Creamy and also with a nice kick. Sweet potato fries perfect. The honey dipping sauce very tasty. Tried the "sweet corn pudding". Interesting. Cornbread stuffing and corn. Might make for Thanksgiving. Cornbread a bit too smooth, more cakey than coarse. Our first visit to District 37 did not disappoint. The service was excellent, and we were able to enjoy dinner on the patio, which made for a great experience. My girlfriend and I shared the apple pecan salad and a Detroit-style pizza. Both were delicious, and the portions were very generous. We asked for one salad to split, and they brought out more than enough for both of us. Great food, great service, and a great atmosphere. We'll definitely be back! read more

I would recommend optional shades on the window for the canal side of the restaurant, as it was extremely bright. In addition, it was very loud. Unavoidable in this setting but should be noted when looking for a place to quietly talk with friends. Nice atmosphere for drinks, but not so conducive for group trying to talk. Overall nice place. I love coming here. The place is open and nice. They have a lot of seating which is good as they are always busy. That is due to the food. Everything is soooo good. I have had dinner with friends here many times and everyone has loved. They have a fantastic gluten free pizza and they have a dedicated fryer which means as someone gluten free I can have the fries. I wouldn't say we are at the point of being "regulars" but we easily are here once every other month or so. We have never had a bad experience. The food is always incredible, the serves are very pleasant and great at what they do, and we LOVE that the owner is out and about, always helping his staff, thanking the customers, and wanting feedback. Today, I'm here to RAVE about the nachos. We have always seen other tables get them and finally last night we went for it. As soon as they got to the table, we all knew we weren't going to eat our dinners. The 4 of us ALL insisted these were the best nachos we have ever had, and I truly could go on and on about why. The first bite was the absolute freshest bite I have ever taken of nachos. Fresh pico, fresh jalapeños, nothing seems canned or like it has been sitting around. There is hot delicious cheese even UNDER the tower of chips. No chip goes uncovered. Enough toppings for every chip. The ground beef was delicious. The best part... under the weight of all of those toppings and delicious cheese, the chips did NOT get soggy. We even had a few stragglers we couldn't finish once our meals arrived. That is if you would like to consider yourself a sports bar. I agree with the other reviewer that it gets very noisy in there. Love this place. We frequent there often as we are typically available later in the evening and they will take your food order late! We enjoy sitting at the bar to watch sporting events. They do have igloos for winter dining! Everything we have had is really tasty. The turkey club, apple pecan salad, and the pimento chicken sandwhich are our favorites. If you do the bbq you have to try the corn pudding and baked beans- my personal favorite sides. The nachos are huge definitely shareable! And don't sleep on the burrata or fried pickled apps. All the bartenders we have met while there are beyond friendly, knowledgeable, and accommodating. We visited District 37 for a company dinner and many of us had traveled to the area from Texas. Had to say I was impressed! Atmosphere was perfect for our dinner and enjoyed the large draft beer selection. Our service was excellent for as large of a group as we were, more than 15 people. Food was excellent and everything came out correctly. I had the two meat plate with turkey and ribs and got to sample several of the apps ordered for the table. Been meaning to try it here and finally made it. What a cool place and great location! There is a lot of street parking nearby and they're right on the canal which will be awesome in warmer weather. We found this place on a whim and decided to check it out. We were a bit nervous when the hostess said there were 11 parties in front of us. 10 minutes later and we were seated! Been here twice in 4 days! Pizzas, chicken sandwich, HUGE nachos, burgers and fried pickles are mouth watering. The pizza crust is cheesy and melty, sauce is delicious! The Cuban Cigar appetizers rock too! If it says spicy on the menu, believe it! Wait staff is stellar, fast and very nice. Brendan was one of our waiters on Saturday. Very nice and very respectful. The restaurant has the main floor with seating and a stocked bar, and then there is another area a couple steps up. Not too loud, and the Sabres were on! No less busy on a warm summer evening- probably even busier because they have a large, covered patio that was filled. No reservation so we waited about 20 minutes for a table. Enjoyed a draft at the bar - large choice of many popular local craft brews available. After being buzzed for our table being ready, we were quickly brought icy waters, and new drink Order taken. Grabbed a beef Birria egg roll appetizer and a "Detroit style" pizza to share. Not sure how we couldn't finish the pizza but it was great for lunch the next day. The Cuban Cigars were good and captured the flavor of a Cuban sandwich. I do think they should either be 4 to an order or lower the price, $20 for three is a bit steep. Beer prices are a tad high too, the 5oz size used for flights was $4 for most of the beers and some were higher. Lunch for two with two flights of 4 and the appetizer was $100 before tax and tip. My friend wanted to have her birthday get together here since they have a gluten free pizza that she likes. It is definitely an absolutely gorgeous spot. However for her reservation she did request to be seated outside due to medial conditions of her guests (lighting issues). We arrived 15 minutes early and was told the party that is where we will be seated has been there for 2 hours and will be getting up shortly. Log story short that party did not get up until about 15 before we left. The food was good, nothing to rant and rave about. The service was okay, very basic. I didn't appreciate that some of the staff had their bottoms hanging out of the shorts... no I am not jealous of their figure, it's just not something I want in my face when eating. Saturday afternoon, reserved an igloo on the patio for lunch. There is a space heater inside, so it was toasty warm, with 7 of us in there, it got too warm, we ended up shutting it off. There is a Bluetooth speaker to connect to, so you can listen to whatever you like. Our server, Jack, was fabulous, he called everyone by their drink name, and when he said "I'll be back in 4 minutes, he was back as promised. Every time I drive into NT after 4p I get hit with this delicious aroma! I look to my left and see water, I look over to my right and I see District 37 tucked away. I told my wife we are definitely trying that place, and tonight we did just that! We went in with a huge appetite so the menu stood no justice lol. We sorta pregamed before we arrived but once we looked over the menu all bets were off. We were seated immediately upon arrival and our waiter greeted us right away with a drink order and our appetizer. We opted to get the Birria egg-rolls, and a bowl of Chili to start. The egg rolls with that sauce were tasty and the bowl of chili was very filling and satisfying. For our main dish we got the Texas 2 Burger, Turkey Club, and six signature smoked wings with sriracha bbq sauce. The burger was huge! Very well put together and flavorful. The turkey club was delicious and made to perfection. The wings were finger licking good and the service was impeccable! We sat out on the patio which was enclosed with heat so we were just fine! The ambience of the place was very pleasant! Good people and good vibes... I got a chance to meet Frank upon leaving which was a great opportunity now that I know who he is! I'd been seeing District 37 Kitchen and Taphouse pop up on my social feed and then I heard they made Detroit-style pizza, so into my "Pizza Places to Try" Yelp Collection they went. After a fun day in downtown Buffalo, a group of us were looking for a spot to grab some pizza so I suggested District 37. All-in-all, we had a good experience and definitely want to come back, but maybe not during dinner-time on a Saturday. My group of three arrived around 6pm on a Saturday and, somehow, were able to find a street parking spot literally right in front of District 37! As far as we could tell, there's no parking lot, it's all street parking, and with it being 6pm on a Saturday, there was virtually no spots so we were VERY grateful. We walked in and asked for a table for three for inside and we were put on a waitlist. The hostess took my name and phone number and I received a text, which directs me to a "toasttab" website that shows how many others are before us, in real-time. This part was a bit rough as there's no time estimate, you just had to keep checking the website and watch the number approach zero. It didn't help that my group was REALLY hungry, so they were getting anxious about the wait. Ultimately, it took an hour for us to be seated, which is a long time, but it was a Saturday night at prime dinner hours, so not completely unheard of. Inside is pretty big and open with lots of tables (regular and high-tops), a large square-style bar, and a covered outdoor patio with even more tables. The sound-level inside was loud but we could still have conversation, while not raising our voices too much. Our waiter, Marcus, came over right away with waters and menus and gave us a moment to look. We all wanted one of their Detroit-style pizzas so it didn't take too long to decide. We ended up sticking with waters but ordering their Thai Chili Brussel Sprouts as an appetizer to munch on while our pizzas cooked. The brussel sprouts were great, a nice way to take the edge off. One thing to note though was that one of our group had to use the ladies room and noted there was no toilet paper - Not good during peak dinner hours on a Saturday. When Marcus took our order, she told Marcus about the situation with the ladies' room and afterward he walked over to the hostess station and told the group of girls working the situation, which was good to see them take care of that fairly quickly. For dinner, I ordered their Four Cheese Steak Detroit-style pizza (four cheese blend, mild banana peppers, caramelized onions, sliced steak strips atop a garlic butter sesame seed, caramelized cheese crust, and a sprinkling of Parmigiano Reggiano) - This was so worth the wait! Four thick slices with that crispy, caramelized cheese crust and the airy dough, cooked to perfection. The steak pieces were tender, I really liked the bigger slices on top, and of course all of that cheese! The banana peppers weren't overly spicy and added great flavor, while the caramelized onions were the secret delight of this pizza, really good! I demolished this pizza, filling me up perfectly. My pizza was over $20, but I felt it was well worth the price. I'm so glad I finally could grab a Detroit-style pizza from District 37! Their take on Detroit-style pizza is phenomenal, as well as their take on steak pizza, a favorite specialty pie of mine. I can't wait to come back and grab another pizza, I want to try a pizza with their red sauce, but I'll wait and pick a day of the week that's less popular/busy. haha read more

Headed up North a bit to a restaurant we've been wanting to try. Clean and comfortable atmosphere. Large bar with seating and TV'S 360° around the bar. Open patio overlooking the canal. Service was very good as well. I had half rack pork ribs. They come out dry and you sauce them to your liking. Very good variety of BBQ sauces to choose from. Chose poppyseed coleslaw (not a fan), but the pimento mac and cheese was incredible. Wife had Texas Brisket Sandwich and she really enjoyed it. Watching some of the other dishes coming out of the kitchen looked amazing (turkey club, wings, loaded nachos to name a few). We will be back to explore some more menu items for sure. read more

Someone is making a great living off of this place... it's packed here the last 2 nights for hours, and there's not really any way I can see that someone can spend less than $30 on dinner... which isn't crazy, but with tax and tip, that's a cool hundred for a few ppl. The location is really sweet, I loved the 70s and 80s music they had on, and it's a lively joint. Bar was pretty packed along with the tables. The service was better than average, pretty attentive. One thing I really liked about the place is all of these custom sauces they make. I counted 6, all in squeeze bottles. I just wish they had enough for every table. A waitress asked if she could take ours for another table... she was really nice about it, made sure that we were ok with it, but once they were gone I felt kind of badly (an 8 top nearby had 2 sets of sauce). While we had them, we had fun putting a dab of each on a small plate, trying them all. All of them were good and unique. I liked my Asian Chicken Sandwich (an October special not on the regular menu) and liked putting the vinegar sauce (I forgot the name) on the sandwich. We weren't crazy about the mushroom pizza, but I think that's mainly because we're accustomed to NYC pizza which usually has tomato sauce and isn't as deep-dish style. There was nothing wrong with the quality. My wife's favorite thing was the ginger beer, which she was glad they had in stock. My daughter really liked the lobster roll and sweet potato fries. The place was LOUD with people, and smoke from ppl smoking just outside the fence of the outside space where we were sitting permeated the whole space. It's really hard to find parking here, so we arrived about 8:30pm to find some open spaces and we were seated right away. If you can do a late dinner, I advise that if your only reason for coming to North Tonawanda is District 37. If not, maybe come really early, as you'll be able to check out some interesting stores. Looks like a cute little area. In any case, they've got a very strong, creative menu, good service and good food. Worth a try. read more

In a nutshell, fantastic! I took my girlfriend here for her birthday and it did not disappoint! We did have a little wait, as it was very busy, but it was worth breathing the fresh air on the patio (there's also indoor seating and seating at the bar). Our server, Samantha, was a doll! She was very sweet and did her job to perfection! On the table, you will fine an assortment of BBQ sauces ... all of them were good, but for me, Bourbon Peach was top notch! (My friend and I shared a bit of our food, and I sampled all of the sauces on a rib). We both ordered cocktails - they were a bit pricey, but what can you do on a summers night on an outdoor patio but order a pretty fruit cocktail? I had the Blueberry Bloom, my friend had the Tiki Tini off the summer menu. Was it worth the price? Eh ... I think I would try a mocktail next time instead. The menu was the type of menu that took me forever to decide what to order because literally everything on there I would have eaten. It's menu of comfort food, really, but there are some salads too for the health-conscious. I landed on the four cheese steak pizza, which was an abnormal choice for me, but absolutely worth it! It was hearty and enough to fill multiple people. It came with thin steak pieces, banana peppers, and caramelized onions. Speaking of caramelized, the edges were perfect! My friend ordered the 2 smoked meats combo. She settled on turkey and ribs. As I said earlier, I enjoyed a rib with an assortment of the sauces. I had a bite of her pimento Mac and cheese which was a new thing for me, but it was very good with that bit of spicy to it. I took her word on how great the turkey was, as I couldn't bare another bite of anything. Our waitress brought us to-go boxes and paper bags that had handles to wrap up the night, and didn't force us out as we wanted to finish chatting before going our separate ways. One of the coolest features is their igloo seating, which you can reserve for a unique and cozy dining experience--such a great touch! I ordered the smoked dry rub wings (which I usually don't like, but absolutely loved here!) and tried with the 5 different sauces they have at the table. We also got the Chilli Honey Blazed Detroit-style pizza which was the perfect blend of sweet and spicy! Let me tell you, that pizza is so filling--it's definitely enough for 3-4 people. One of the newer hot spots in NT. It is always so busy so you're better off coming on a weeknight or when they first open. You can also reserve an igloo for a group. I really like their Detroit style pizzas and for $20-$25, that's not bad as they're huge. My favorite is the pepperoni. There is a decently sized bar that's first come, first serve.
