I don't make it out to North Tonawanda often, but recently I had an event in the area so I took that opportunity to stop into District 37 afterward for dinner! Their Detroit-style pizza is REALLY good, you definitely should order one if you go, but that night, I wanted to try something else. All-in-all, a good experience, albeit a little pricey for what I got. About 7:30pm on a Wednesday, I found a parking spot across the street, right by the entrance. As I walked in, I was greeted by a nice, young hostess who immediately seated me at a table. Not long after that, my waitress for the evening, Brooke, came over with menus and water. Brooke was great - Friendly, checked in regularly, was knowledgeable about the menu! I whittled down the menu to three choices and she helped me decide with a great recommendation. With dinner ordered, I sat back and took in the ambiance - Plenty of TVs with sports on, classic rock music playing over the speakers, and LOTS of people enjoying the evening. This place was just as packed a year ago when I came, but this time, the staff were way more synchronized! Maybe 10 minutes later, my dinner arrived - I was impressed with the quick turnaround time! For dinner, I went with their Pimento Chicken Sandwich (crispy battered chicken breast topped with a house-made pimento cheese, sweet & spicy pickles, and Alabama white sauce, between a toasted brioche bun) with a side of fries. The sandwich was great - The pimento cheese was creamy with a nice "zing", the sweet & spicy pickles were plentiful and not too sweet, not too spicy and had a decent crunch, and the Alabama white sauce married it all together. The chicken was cooked perfectly and the toasted bun held it all together with ease. The side of fries were cooked perfectly and nicely seasoned but I was a little disappointed with the portion of fries. For over $20, I was expecting a little more, if I'm being honest. The quality was excellent but I would've liked either a little bigger chicken breast for the sandwich or more fries - The metal "boat" they were served in is small, at least to me it seemed small. District 37 is a solid restaurant in North Tonawanda! It's full of energy, friendly staff, plenty of drinks, and good food. I'm glad I had one of their sandwiches, it was very good! But for the price, I wish the portions were a little more. Next time I come though, I'll probably order another one of their Detroit-style pizzas, they're soo good! read more

I stopped by for lunch recently with a group of friends. It was our first time here and it's really cute inside, there is a lot of seating and there is a nice big bar. It was not busy and we didn't have to wait for a table which is a plus. I ordered smoked turkey, with salad and sweet potato fries and a pg13 which was ginger beer, mint and I added a shot of vodka. When our food came out I had to question what was going on with the sweet potato fries because they had a thick coating and looked beer battered, not at all indicated on the menu. I asked the server, Kelsey W., and she paused and said yea I don't know for sure but if you can't have gluten I wouldn't eat them. I was annoyed at the situation and just took them off my plate but I understand this can happen. The server seemed annoyed and goes on to blame me and says I should have told her. Now will say I did have to go through the salad ingredients and pick most of them out, she didn't ask me about allergies either. And it's not common to add a beer batter coating to sweet potato fries without indicating it in the menu. The menu should be updated asap for other guests. Any other server would apologize for the situation and ask how they can make it better and not blame for a customer for a misunderstanding. After that I realized there was an extra sauce on the tray, I asked her to check with the kitchen to see what was in it, is it safe for me to eat? She came back 15 minutes later and said she will check and have an answer soon. It was not busy, this was not acceptable. Again clearly not showing any help for your guest with a food issue. This showed me she had zero concern or care about this or trying to smooth it over. Finally, towards the end of the meal I realized my water was leaking, had thought it was condensation as it was hot out. My glass, water cup had a huge crack in it. You would have hoped that someone would have seen it before serving it to someone. Clearly a safety issue. I hope I didn't ingest glass. I handed it back to our server and told her this glass needed to be tossed in the trash. Her response was another blank look, she didn't really care and just gave me another shallow I'm sorry. The rest of my meal was tasty and it was a large portion. Everyone else at my table had nice looking food and was happy with it. I will personally not come back here. District 37- it wouldn't hurt to update your menu and add what is gluten safe and indicate what kind of coating is on your sweet potato fries because a lot of people who choose these have special dietary needs. You should also train your staff to help bring up allergy issues with your guests and have more empathy if an issue arises. If this is something a server isn't able to work on they might consider an alternate employment opportunity. read more

I love coming here. The place is open and nice. They have a lot of seating which is good as they are always busy. That is due to the food. Everything is soooo good. The first bite was the absolute freshest bite I have ever taken of nachos. Fresh pico, fresh jalapeños, nothing seems canned or like it has been sitting around. Love this place. We frequent there often as we are typically available later in the evening and they will take your food order late! We enjoy sitting at the bar to watch sporting events. They do have igloos for winter dining! Everything we have had is really tasty. The turkey club, apple pecan salad, and the pimento chicken sandwhich are our favorites. If you do the bbq you have to try the corn pudding and baked beans- my personal favorite sides. The nachos are huge definitely shareable! And don't sleep on the burrata or fried pickled apps. Been meaning to try it here and finally made it. What a cool place and great location! There is a lot of street parking nearby and they're right on the canal which will be awesome in warmer weather. The food was fantastic I didn't know they had BBQ so I had to try that their sauces I think there were five were all fantastic and the brisket, turkey and pulled pork I tried were great! Beer prices are a tad high too, the 5oz size used for flights was $4 for most of the beers and some were higher. Lunch for two with two flights of 4 and the appetizer was $100 before tax and tip. Been here twice in 4 days! Pizzas, chicken sandwich, HUGE nachos, burgers and fried pickles are mouth watering. The pizza crust is cheesy and melty, sauce is delicious! The Cuban Cigar appetizers rock too! If it says spicy on the menu, believe it! Wait staff is stellar, fast and very nice. Brendan was one of our waiters on Saturday. Very nice and very respectful. Log story short that party did not get up until about 15 before we left. The food was good, nothing to rant and rave about. The service was okay, very basic. I didn't appreciate that some of the staff had their bottoms hanging out of the shorts... no I am not jealous of their figure, it's just not something I want in my face when eating. Every time I drive into NT after 4p I get hit with this delicious aroma! I look to my left and see water, I look over to my right and I see District 37 tucked away. I told my wife we are definitely trying that place, and tonight we did just that! We went in with a huge appetite so the menu stood no justice lol. We sorta pregamed before we arrived but once we looked over the menu all bets were off. We were seated immediately upon arrival and our waiter greeted us right away with a drink order and our appetizer. We opted to get the Birria egg-rolls, and a bowl of Chili to start. The egg rolls with that sauce were tasty and the bowl of chili was very filling and satisfying. For our main dish we got the Texas 2 Burger, Turkey Club, and six signature smoked wings with sriracha bbq sauce. The burger was huge! Very well put together and flavorful. The turkey club was delicious and made to perfection. The wings were finger licking good and the service was impeccable! We sat out on the patio which was enclosed with heat so we were just fine! Headed up North a bit to a restaurant we've been wanting to try. Clean and comfortable atmosphere. Large bar with seating and TV'S 360° around the bar. Open patio overlooking the canal. Service was very good as well. I had half rack pork ribs. They come out dry and you sauce them to your liking. Very good variety of BBQ sauces to choose from. Chose poppyseed coleslaw (not a fan), but the pimento mac and cheese was incredible. Wife had Texas Brisket Sandwich and she really enjoyed it. Watching some of the other dishes coming out of the kitchen looked amazing (turkey club, wings, loaded nachos to name a few). We will be back to explore some more menu items for sure. read more
