I love this coffeehouse and bistro. The Van Halen is my favorite coffee drink, with vanilla/hazelnut syrup, espresso and foam. A great chill spot, I usually come here in the evenings or Sunday during the day and it's never loud or overly crowded. They play an assortment of FREAKIN' AWESOME music. This coffee shop is the social and pedestrian center of Caldwell. The owner is very friendly and ensures his servers are also. Great coffee and tea menu. The vibe is great and very laid back. The front windows are often opened to Bloomfield Avenue in the summer. There are chairs outside for relaxing with your drink. The menu is great for breakfast and lunch. Staff are nice, bathroom is clean, my friend seemed to enjoy her sandwich and caramel coffee beverage. This is one of my favorite coffee joints. I really, really love the coffee. The menu is pretty good. My wife likes the menu more than I do. The food I have ordered is pretty good. The price point is perfect. I like that you can simply sit around and not feel rushed. I know that is the same at all coffee places, but something about this place makes it work. Not a lot of outlets. And they are by pretty uncomfortable places. I'm more of a, I have to sit at a table to work kind of gal rather than have my work on my lap. The WiFi doesn't work for some computers. It's weird because I've never had this problem before in other coffee shops, first time for everything I guess! The gentleman who I'm thinking runs this location said in return, "I guess you have to do real work now"...kind of need WiFi to do "real work" sir haha. I've been to other Rock 'n' Joes before like the one in Westfield, and they were really good! This location, however, not so much. read more

I have come in here on occasion for coffee and sometimes something to eat. Food is always good and I love the coffee. Today I came down because our power was out. After I ordered, there were no more tables available. First they brought me a chair and then a table. I would have been fine with a chair but they said they could not have me eat without a table. A little over priced. Okay upgrading to 4 stars. This morning the manager or owner served me. He doesn't smile and is not very warm. But he did say good morning and gave me a great iced vanilla hazelnut coffee and apple pie. So he is probably just an introvert but a nice guy. Downgrading to 3 stars. The more I think about this place, the more I say what were they thinking. Their place corners on 2 roads. With no parking on either side. Sure you have lots of visibility but if you're driving and want to run in and out with a drink, forget it. Came here one evening for an after dinner beverage and dessert. I went simple and just got a hot tea-which was really yummy and recommend-apple pie tea. Also, I picked up a cookies and cream pie to share with my boyfriend, oh so creamy and delicious. The ambience makes you feel like you could just hang out there all day, very chill and relaxed. I have been here a handful of times now. Usually meet one of my girlfriends where we sit, drink one of the many delicious teas and tasty fresh sandwiches or salads. We particularly enjoy being here during off peak times so we can hang out, put our worlds to right. The staff are attentive but leave us to it so we feel very comfortable. As a self proclaimed coffee shop-aholic, I love finding comfortable places like this in North Jersey. As a matter of fact, I'm yelping this review from here now :) The place has a great cozy feeling to it, nothing too stuffy. The tall ceilings give it an openness, and the variety of seating arrangements helps with the overall vibe.
