TL;DR - Fun atmosphere, but some of the food didn't meet our expectations. First time trying this place, and I'm kinda torn. We got the Stage Divers appetizer, which was nice. Definitely try both sauces, as I couldn't really pick a favorite. My wife ordered miso soup with her entrée and I asked for the ginger salad with mine. Neither of us were terribly pleased. The ginger salad was literally just romaine lettuce and a ginger-flavored dressing. Okay, but could've been better. My wife felt the same about her soup. When it came to the entrees, my wife was elated with her dish (one of the hibachi options), but mine was a little underwhelming. Maybe it's because I chose the Rainbow Roll, which admittedly had a pretty mellow flavor, but the sides didn't help any. The sliced ginger was a little dry and had maybe half of the flavor intensity that I was used to, and the soy sauce (in a Kikkoman bottle, but no idea if that matched the actual contents) was *exceedingly* salty. Usually soy sauce is a good complement to most rolls, but this literally overpowered what little flavor the roll had. For dessert we tried the Mango Coconut Rockstars. It kinda felt like their spin on the mango sticky rice that some restaurants offer. Again, a bit underwhelming. The fried sticky rice stars had decent flavor and texture, but the mango was diced into tiny pieces. They were surprisingly firm and tasted a little under-ripe, almost with a pineapple-like acidity. Our server was pretty good, though it kinda felt like she was rushing us once our dessert was served. The atmosphere was kinda cool. The menus are tucked into vinyl album covers, and each menu has a different classic album cover on the front. There are a few TVs in the place playing old rock music videos (all the same, thankfully), and it added to the nostalgia. All in all, it was okay. We may come back to try some of the other menu items, but it's not likely to be my go-to for sushi. read more

We had a great lunch today at Rock and Roll Sushi! First off, the place has great decorations and atmosphere! What's not to like about eating a sushi roll while Pat Benatar is on the big screen singing Hit Me with Your Best Shot? My wife had the Headbanger shrimp, which I also tried, and it was fantastic. We shared the fried wonton appetizer, which was decadent. I chose to try one of the house special tools: the Crowd Surfer. Very tasty!! Everything we had was excellent. Our waitress and the hostess were both friendly and helpful, kept our glasses full of water, and checked in with us often. If you are looking for sushi in Rome, you should definitely give them a try. I cant say anyone thing disappointed it was several things that added up. The first was that they did not have a selection of nigiri, maki, or ebi. The only nigiri were priced to push you into a roll. Second, we ordered saki, they didnt ask us what kind or which brand, so what we got we had no clue and it wasnt good. Third, the rolls here are small and looked pre-made, the rainbow roll for example only had three one inch pieces of fish on the whole roll, the rest was avacado. The spicy tuna was smaller in diameter than any maki I have seen. The place gets three stars because it seemed clean, the decor was cool, and we left content. It was not great, just good. Great would have been four stars. Excellent was not an option here. read more

Bad hospitality very stuck up and wear I come from the customer is always right and for the food part of it they will tell you they have rice paper for their sushi rolls, but it's actually soy paper with a complete different texture and then they complain about their tips not only that don't need outside. Because they have a fly problem landing on your food. read more

The high price sushi was good. But the regular sushi is a rip. You only get 4 small pieces, but you pay the regular price. We were the only ones there and it took forever to get our food. No soy sauce on the table... you have to ask for it. Slap some guitars on the wall and show MTV videos and call it what it is. We won't be coming back. read more

We loved the VIP sushi roll. The server was so nice and the vibe was like no other. They did a great job on decorating the place and my favorite part was the music videos playing on the wall. Such good music and food. I will be going here from here on out for Raman or sushi. read more

I have eaten here several times now and the food and service have been great. The Hibachi and fried rice are really good. I have tried a variety of the sushi rolls and haven't been disappointed yet. Carrie is the Best!! Her recommendations are spot on. Nice variety of Sake. Love watching the videos on the screens and spending time with friends here. read more

Rock 'n' roll sushi left me singing the blues! I ordered the same thing, two days apart and essentially got two different orders. First order, the egg rolls were exquisitely packaged in a bed of lettuce. Appearance of the appetizer was beautiful and the taste was beyond delicious! Fried rice with steak, chicken and shrimp added, was the best I've ever had anywhere! But ordering essentially the same thing today was the complete opposite! Both the eggrolls and fried rice order were completely saturated in black pepper! With fresh ingredients and great recipes, nothing needed to be added! The taste of everything was atrociously ruined! Not many non-spicy things on the menu, fried rice should have been a safe bet. Dish should be renamed fried black pepper because it was the only taste that came through. DISGUSTING! And let's talk about serving size. The first order was in a full size to go container, with large enough portions to last two meals! Today's order didn't even fill the tiny 5" x 5" container it came in! And to add insult to injury, this half scoop of rice and scarce toppings was $13.70!!! Buyer beware and order at your own risk! Me and my partner had a really good time here! The wait times were really short and we barely had to wait for our food. Our waiter was super friendly and chill, very easy to talk to. The ambiance was really fun. There was rock music playing and visuals everywhere. We got the Jalapeño Poppers were DELICIOUS. Me and my partner agree that it was the best we've ever had. Super creamy and crunchy 11/10. I got the Tonkatsu Ramen and as much as I wanted to love it, it was unfortunately really salty :( everything else was super yum. The meat was tender 6.5/10. My partner says his Spider roll was a 9/10. We both got the Eel roll, we both think it was weirdly squishy and chewy and cold 6/10. My partner also got the Unplugged roll. I thought it was pretty good but my partner didn't really like it and said it was off putting. We both give it a 7/10. If I could give an overall 3.5/5 I would but I gave a four since the service and Jalapeño Poppers made it lean towards a four. read more

Ate here for the first time today. Pickled ginger was extremely dry and tasteless. Sushi did not hold together. It didn't seem like it was real sushi rice. Ginger salad dressing had no bite. We got edamame as an appetizer and it seemed like it came out of the microwave steamer packs, and unseasoned. I got the chicken and filet hibachi. The meats were okay, but the whole dish was lukewarm. The vegetables had no structural integrity whatsoever. They were complete mush. The fried rice seemed to have an over abundance of white pepper. A really fun and cute new addition to Rome! Classic rock music playing, neon signs, and a wall of electric guitars! I devoured my "punk rock roll."
