My emotionally and physically exhausted daughter waiting for hours in a cold small chair
    Amy M.

Do NOT bring your child to this facility. Very short staffed and the staff that we encountered, Shelly, Gina, and Michael fed us lies about the time we would be received, although my daughter had an incident and had just been brought by stretcher to this facility after her ER hold at BSW, bc they're within network and we were scrambling; we called rock springs to have her seen and potentially admitted hours in advance so that her transition would be as smooth as possible: hours in advance! by the time she arrived by stretcher they brought us to a dirty small room and ended up waited over 3 hours in a cold small room w one chair for our very precious daughter that needed rest immediately: they kept telling us 30 more minutes, 30 more minutes. After a full grown man in handcuffs was brought in and taken back and the screams we were hearing, my husband and I decided we had changed our mind and wanted to get her home and try for another place in the morning: our gut told us to get our daughter out of there: we politely said we are leaving and to please unlock the doors so we could leave: Michael, who could barely speak English indeed told us her room was ready don't leave they needed 5 more minutes: yeah right lol we left with our daughter and placed her in our bed at home where she slept next to me all night: the next morning we took her to dell children's where she will be staying regardless of the cost, I would never have taken her to rock springs in the first place if I had read these heartbreaking scary reviews before hand, but we were in a bit of a state of panic and they were within network and close to our home. Gina the red hair dyed nurse NEVER Came to look at our daughter or even made eye contact although she walked past 3 or 4 times. her presence had a very stuck up, sassy, selfish and rude aura. Michael, might be new to the United States from Nigeria, i can't really tell by his heavy accent, and is definitely new to the facility, as he seemed to have no clue what was going on: Shelly the supervisor of intake I can only assume, although she seemed over worked and exhausted handed us paperwork that was nearly 5 years old, saying that her schedule would be "kinda like this" like what? Seriously? These are children's lives we are talking about here: get up to date; clean your facility; hire people who want to be in the field, and be professional: that's not asking a lot: to make matters worse. These fools called CPS on my husband and said we were denying our daughter the care she needed: so on top of the stressors of our daughters suicide attempt we had to deal with a CPS investigation during our already time of crisis. CPS without our knowledge then pulled our 11 yr old son from school the next day to ask questions and was thankfully unable to reach our other middle daughter that same day. The CPS worker then came to the current hospital, DELL Children's to speak with our troubled daughter who is not feeling her best, prodded more nosey nonsense questions and had to ask her another round of exhausting questions: thankfully Elizabeth, the very bright enthusiastic CPS agent we were placed with opened up and even thought it was ridiculous and told us herself she has heard TERRIBLE stories about Rock Springs and told us she doesn't blame us one bit for scooping our daughter up and getting her the hell out of that place: the CPS case thankfully will be open and shut. God was with us that night and always, and we trusted our parental guts and instincts. I decided to write this negative yelp; the first I have ever written in my life, bc | feel w every ounce in me that if you're a mother or father who was in our position, scared and confused and in a whirlwind of being blindsided by teen depression and suicide, to know this at the very least: Do NOT take your child to ROCK SPRINGS : just don't: I hope soon Rock springs can hire better nurses who aren't self obsessed and uncaring in the least other than with her caked on makeup, fake lashes, nails and hair dye and crappy attitude to boot.. I hope they better screen their staff to hire better individuals who weren't as rude as Michael and who weren't as overworked and exhausted as Shelly, the only one who did make an attempt, God was with us that night and always, and we trusted our parental guts and instincts. Excellent behavior health and addiction treatment, you are treated like a person and given a place to recover and get better.

Hopefully he won't need hospitalization again, but if he does, this is the only treatment facility he will consider.

The campus is smaller than other hospitals I've been to, which helped me arrive on time, and avoid getting confused about which building my appointment was in. With multiple heart doctors on my team, I can mix up who's doing what when and where. This hospital was manageable. I was in a shared room, (my first) but I had the window side, with a curtain drawn between the two bed areas creating adequate privacy. The single TV on the wall seemed to be more on my side, but there wasn't time to even turn it on. The very attentive nursing staff were busy asking me all the standard questions, double checking my medication list and fasting requirements, what I was there for, etc... all very professional, pleasant and efficient. When they had me ready for the cardiologist, I was wheeled into the surgical area and a new group of faces introduced themselves, went over a few more questions, and then the anesthesiologist said hello and I next thing I said was goodnight! Afterwards, back in my room, I was able to order lunch and had the salmon with veggies and chocolate pudding. The entree was so good! The BF (and my ride home) had arrived just in time to feed it to me as my right arm was in a contraption from the procedure. Discharge came with lots of aftercare notes, phone surveys and a handwritten thank you note signed by all the nurses. Nice touch!

I have been trying since August to have a huge over-payment refunded and they give excuse after excuse. Even if they finally agree to return MY money, I was told it will be a minimum of 12 weeks to process the reimbursement. By then, they will have held my money hostage for almost a year. I found out about my over-payment accidentally - they only send statements when you owe them. Watch your account because there's no telling how many patients have overpaid and will never know it. Another annoyance is that the billing department takes forever to process insurance claims. You can't trust them and they couldn't care less about helping you. And an update: I had (my final) well-woman exam where lab work was done. In the past, a copy of my results came in the mail but after a month and no contact from them, I called the nurse practitioner. She said the new Little River policy is that she could tell me if I was in normal ranges over the phone, but if I wanted a copy of my results I would have to fill out a form and pay $25. WHAT? It's my blood, I paid to have it tested and I have to pay more to find out the results? Little River must really be in financial trouble to extort this kind of charge from patients. Another reason to go elsewhere.

Georgetown orthopedics was recently bought out by Little River Health Care. I went in about a month ago and had an Xray (it was not Dr. English I saw that day) - the bill I revieved was super high.I've never seen a bill for an Xray that high - I had an MRI done for $150 less just last year. I called and was told when they were bought out by LRHC, the cost of xrays more than doubled. So - lesson learned. Great doctor, who I will continue to see, but go somewhere else for the Xray. Make sure you ask the cost before you allow them to do the Xray at the office - you will be shocked!!
