Was at Coco Beach with some friends on vacation and was starving so we decided to walk along the street and saw Rock the Guac. At first glance, it looked like any old beach restaurant but when we went inside we were pleasantly surprised. The restaurant itself is cozy but still gives off the tourist feel. The workers greeted us warmly and explained how the process worked. The restaurant works just like Qdoba or Chipotle - picking your food and bases and creating your own quesadilla or burrito (or taco if that's your thing) I ended up getting the Jalapeno Tortilla quesadilla with steak, spinach, cheese, queso, jalapenos and mushrooms. The quesadilla was GREAT - loved it. The chips and queso were great as well. I also was feeling frisky and decided to get their house made sangria - loved it, sweet but you could definitely taste the alcohol. Definitely would love to come back. read more

Let me preface this review by saying I was excited to eat here; really wanted to like it and look forward to coming back. It's like Chipotle and Tijuana Flats had a baby, plus workers were super cool. The problem I have is that they claim that their guac is homemade and as someone who makes homemade guac all the time and also orders it out at restaurants; their guac is not home made. I'm sorry, it's just not. It tastes exactly like the stuff you buy at publix or aldi, that chemically - preserved taste. My friend who shared the guac with me agreed, we were not given homemade guac... but don't take my word for it; taste it for yourself. It just bothers me that they claim to have a "world famous guac" when it clearly isn't and then $6 for something that leaves a chemical aftertaste in my mouth for hours... There was a 10-15 min wait for fish tacos, so I opted for steak instead. Maybe the fish would have been with the wait. The steak was tough and a bit cold. Tortillas were dry and borderline stale. The toppings were better and generous, but dropped in so haphazardly that as much was out of the tacos than in them. The atmosphere was nice and clean, but the food was lackluster. read more

Solid burrito spot in Cocoa Beach. This is a good alternative to Chipotle for a unique burrito experience. Having been spoiled by near three years of having Mission style burritos in the Mission of San Francisco feel am a fan of Rock the Guac. The best thing that Rock the Guac offers is they have a Jackfruit option which I never experienced in the numerous burrito spots in the SF Bay Area as feel those spots were perhaps more traditional. The drill at Rock the Guac is your choose your instrument: flour or wheat tortilla or burrito bowl or three tacos choose your rhythm: white or brown rice black or refried beans choose your melody: vegetarian or jackfruit or several non-veg options Choose your tempo up to giving toppings: lettuce, diced tomatoes, onions, cilantro, spinach, scallions, black olives, fresh or pickled jalapeños, & banana peppers Choose your salsa: hot or mild, pico de gallo, salsa verde, or corn salsa Chips are additional charge either w/ salsa or guacamole. Not a good meal. Had a steak burrito. Only wanted 2 tacos, but the only option was 3 tacos or a burrito. For me that was too much food so had to throw 1/3 away and I hate wasting food. There was no cilantro that day, no limes, and the burrito was bland. The beans and rice tasted like they were cooked with no seasonings whatsoever. There's no salsa bar, so the only way to get any salsa freshness and flavor in the burrito was maybe to ask the staff behind the plexiglass? There was a line of people the whole time so I didn't feel comfortable butting in to ask for a container of salsa. There were squeeze bottles of a sauce - something quac? No idea why it's called that, there's zero avocado in it. It had a bad flavor, can't really describe it. My companion said we would've gotten a better meal at Taco Bell. Music was too loud IMO. I just absolutely love the decor from the parking lot to the inside. You often hear about how important the food presentation is, and I completely agree. This place proves that even before that, the presentation of the restaurant matters too. This really helps establish a fun vibe, especially for vacationers. However, I am sure this place is a favorite for locals as well. The setup is much like a fresher, higher quality, and tastier version of chipotle. Ordering and meal building works in the same fashion of picking your entree, then the protein, and finally the toppings. The steak was generously portioned, juicy, lean, and tender. The chicken was braised and falling apart tender. The food was excellent. They serve a queso and guac combination called quesomole. It was really good and unique. This place was like a high end chipotle! Super fresh ingredients, delish meals and margs, and friendly and fast employees who handled a large crowd with speed, efficiency and friendliness! The owners and staff were constantly picking up the dining room and ensuring everyone was having a great time. I accidentally spilled a drink and an employee, Riley, cleaned it up without hesitation and even an ounce of annoyance. Another employee made sure the beans were vegetarian-made before serving them in my burrito bowl. First time here but not our last! Simply delish! read more

We were staying in cocoa beach on vacation and needed a place to eat that has gluten free options and this seemed to be a great option. Although we didn't have any reactions to the food it just didn't taste good. The guacamole seemed like the avocados were going bad. The steak was tough, the burrito was very bland. The only thing we liked was the cheese and chips. Everything else seemed less than great quality. I can't even make a comparison to chipotle because chipotle has great flavor and their meats are tender. This was very bLand and not worth the money we spent. read more

We were craving Mexican food and this place was right down the street from our hotel, walking distance! Unfortunately the steak tacos were awful! Sad excuse for steak! It seemed like the pre made meat that you buy at the grocery store to heat up in the microwave! My husband did enjoy his chicken quesadilla though. Kinda dissatisfied I've been here a couple of times and liked it but I went today and it was not a good experience the maker of burritos seemed in a rush even though there was no one in the building other then me and didn't warm either of the tortillas and as I'm watching her make them she only used half the scoops and kinda seemed annoyed. Normally when I go here the service is very friendly, maybe she was having a bad day so I wasn't gonna say anything but when it came to wrapping it she didn't just pushed it all and wrapped the paper. Then I wanted to buy some of the sodas they have for my dad and I but she said I could only buy one which I don't remember being a rule before(but maybe I missed it). Also i bought the queso dip app with chips and it was only filled half way but I've gotten it before and it was full. I'm very disappointed with this and I probably won't recommend this place as much as I used to unfortunately. read more

Not a good first experience, sorry. It tastes ok, but something about the 'bib' of the place and food. We were the only ones eating there about 7:00pm one night and I guess they do a lot of carry out. I had the jackfruit, which was good and I appreciated that they even offered that to vegetarians. Busy spot for lunch and we now know why. You order your food along an assembly line a lot like other places. The staff were happy to help us out and make sure we understood what we were looking to eat. The food was decent and filling. Tacos are my thing. I have my spot in Cocoa Beach, but figured I'd try something new to shake it up. I regret it, unfortunately. You can do better a couple miles down the road. We got a to go order: - Jackfruit salad bowl - not great at all. Bland and bitter. - Chips, guac and queso - pretty hard to mess this one up. No problems here except the packaging. - Hard shell pork tacos - rookie mistake getting hard-shell tacos to-go, but the flavour was good and the portion was large. They have single beers in the cooler, bottled drinks, soda fountain and a few beers in tap. And at its core it's reasonably priced, mediocre "Mexican" food. The staff was kind of what you'd expect in a beach town: perma-stoned and pretty confused on how to do their jobs, it seemed. However the biggest problem for me was their egregious use of single use plastic, plastic bags and styrofoam - the latter of which I didnt know was still legal. Come on, folks - you live and work in turtle habitat - you think you'd be a slightly more environmentally conscious business for that reason alone. read more

This is a locally owned establishment the food was not bad it was average I did try the jackfruit which was good but overall it was OK. Customer service was good the person who was standing behind us suggested the jackfruit and he was right that part was good. Large portions. Just not a lot of flavor in the black beans. Immediate fan!! Rock the Guac was a great experience from the second we walked in until we left. My family and I were visiting the Orlando area and decided to drive to Cocoa Beach for the day. We are so pleased to have found Rock the Guac through yelp and decided to give it a try. It's a super fun, clean, and absolutely tasty little shop where you get to customize your burrito, tacos, etc. It's similar to Chipotle, but I liked some of the twists they put on things here. They had some new ingredients that Chipotle doesn't have, and they also had a jalapeño cheddar tortilla option which was legit!! Drew was our server, and he was so friendly, helpful and genuinely seemed like he cared about his customers. He definitely helped make the experience great. He also kept his cool well when a woman came in and cussed them out because she couldn't be served without a mask. It was pretty shocking! He didn't seem phased by it for a second. We are planning to go back to Florida sometime in the near future, so I hope we have a chance to go back to Rock the Guac! read more

It's essentially the more authentic mexican version of chipotle. It's good but I feel that at chipotle I can be so full that I'm good for day where as at this spot I ate my burrito and still could of eaten another one. Also I got the vegetarian burrito with obviously no meat and still had to pay the extra dollar for Guac which didn't make much sense to me. So my veggie burrito cost 9.50 compared to chipotle that fills me up at 7 something and I get free guac. It was a good burrito but I don't think you get the bang for your buck at this place. My boyfriend also still had an appetite when chipotle on the other hand fills him up as well. read more
