Pot Roast and mashed potatoes special
    Rob K.

I made my return to Rockefellers after at least a 10/15 year absence. My wife and I were attending an event nearby and decided Rockefellers would be a decent choice for a meal. We were promptly seated. After being seated our waitress kind of disappeared. She eventually reappeared, but it is obvious regulars are favored here. We placed our drink orders the same time as our meals. My wife and I both ordered draft beer and felt they tasted flat. I ordered one of the specials (pot roast) and it was supposedly sold out, 90 minutes after the on sale. Minimal to no check ins. My wife had a fish sandwich and had to ditch her soggy bun midway through. I'm in no rush to return. Portion for the pot roast was beyond lackluster. Atmosphere was average at best. Definitely more quality options.

I was in PA on Thursday the 5th for a regional service manager meeting. Rockefeller's Grille came highly recommended. There were 5 of us so we walked in and the hostess promptly seated us at a large enough table to accommodate our party of 5. The waitress came over a short time later and took our drink orders. She came back with our drinks and we ordered our food. We didn't wait too long and our lunch was served. The portion sizes were very generous. I ordered a grilled cheese with tomato & mushrooms on it and it came with French fries. The sandwich was delicious and very large, I ate 1/2 of it. I needed a to go container for the other half. I would definitely visit this restaurant if I make it back to PA.

We've done TakeOut & have eaten at the Restaurant. Their Ribs & Chicken Combo is a Good choice if you are Hungry along with their Burger & their Italian Hoagie.. When getting the Italian Hoagie, I go for a Side of Fried Zucchini to go with it.

The food is always top notch. I love the chicken sandwich. But my favorite is the homemade Caesar dressing and croutons!! And always their homemade bread the services is great. I always do take out and still great!!

    Langostino Over Linguini

Stadium Fries. Seasoned nicely, tons of cheese, on beer battered fries. Langostino Over Linguini was properly buttery and well seasoned. The garlic bread crumb finish was what really brought everything together once mixed in. Seated fast. Swear we received the fries within 5mins of ordering. Plenty of bar area seating to watch sports and also a lower area for more dining style and a back room for privacy. 9/9 not going here again would be a crime.

It has been a long time since I ate here and believe me it did not disappoint. The place is very modern looking with an event area attached to it. They have an extensive menu but today I was looking for the traditional hamburger. Note these are not patties but rather made from scratch burgers. I had their Rockefeller burger which came with the works along with a side of fries. This was one of the freshest burgers I had in a long time and oh so messy! You can always tell it is good by how messy it is. Was also well seasoned. The fries were cooked piping hot and came in its own separate dish. Had an excellent wait staff who catered to my needs. Rockefeller's grille is located in a small strip plaza near the Kennedy Giant Eagle. Since there are other businesses there parking is very easy and convenient. Can't wait to return to try out their other offerings.

    Soggy zucchini

Just didn't hit the mark. Ordered the happy hour fried zucchini, arrived looking great, tasted like wet cardboard. Seemed like the zucchini had been breaded and then sat in a cooler than fried. It wasn't crispy at all, was limp and soggy. Asked for wings well done & they were barely cooked. The fries with my fish were stone cold. The only decent thing was my fish but I was so disgusted by everything else we only ate a bit and left. Drinks were good & service was good too. Considering how expensive it is to eat out now a days I'm expecting the quality and cooking of the food to match. It's not cheap to ho out to eat and when you get multiple dishes that are just horrible and disgusting it's very disappointing.

I've been coming here for years off and on. I gotta say I never leave disappointed. The specials are always good. Atmosphere is always cheerful. Service is always friendly. Menu is excellent. If you leave here not happy I gotta think it's you. Love seeing locals support each other. The tables are so nice. Some of our favorites on there as well. We feel at home here.

Call me picky, but when I see a mouse running across the floor during winter, I know there's more than one of them in the place.

Downey's House provided the local spot I needed. An ice cold Yuengling on draft went down very well, and while I didn't find pierogis on the menu, I settled for a phenomenal bowl of spaghetti & meatballs. Local marinara & meatballs made with the same recipe of the old Main Hotel that was in Carnegie for nearly 100 years. That bowl of pasta was SCRUMPTIOUS and just what I was after. I even talked my lovely wife into doing up her salad 'Pittsburgh style', which means adorning the salad with fries. And yes, it's as good as it sounds. Thrown in a protein like grilled chicken and that is a banger of a meal. Great dining area with a square-shaped bar and TVs with sight-lines in any direction. The service is friendly and helpful, and prices are probably lower than at some chain-y eatery that just makes your food via assembly line. It's local and sensational!

BEST PITTSBURGH WING…read more We were absolutely not expecting this and still can't believe it. We didn't have major expectations but hoped it would be at least a top 5 wing and average meal. It was beyond that The French onion soup we saw online and everyone seemed to enjoy that. We're whores for it so had to get. I like mine a tad bit salty which this was and PACKED with onion chunks and breaded leeks on top. It was impossible to get a spoon fully without any inclusions. My new favorite The Tavern Burger. I'm coming fresh off 9 years without 5 Guys (elite) and this rocked me harder than that. This isn't a stupid smash burger. We got a juicy COOKED PERFECT RARE 8oz patty, topped with sautéed onions, and bacon that isn't crisped to smithereens. I like my bacon medium rare and that's exactly what I got. Then covered in one of the craziest sauces I have ever had, their gorgonzola cream. I could drink that by the gallon The wings.... I have never had a wing itself cooked more perfect in my life. The smoke and meatiness on them was so nailed that I could get 2 dozen plain and still have the same reaction. We got the Buffalo Garlic and Dry Cajun Ranch. These wings don't need drenched in sauce by any means or it would honestly ruin it. The buffalo doesn't ned to be creamy either. Perfect amount of sauce to cheese ration. The dry cajun ranch was a fucking knockout. For how great the wing is I would love to see more dry season options with them Cam got a Tavern Dip. I hate dips. I loved the shaved ribeye on it and horseradish, but I have never been an Au Jus man. Would 100000% eat it without the au jus Then the fries. Always team psoriasis through and through. Not sure if I'm coming off the Five Guys high but their cajun boardwalk style are even better. Get some spicy honey aioli to dip them in. Truly just shocked at how amazing this place is. Right over the bridge and cannot recommend enough going here before a game and walking over. Great spot right before, after and during sports. Very high Pittsburgh atmosphere going on I will be back so many times and absolutely worth going Downtown for

We found an adorable part of town to walk through and then we spotted Moonlit Burgers and decided to stop for lunch. They have limited table service in the sense that you place your order with the cashier when you walk in and they bring your food out to you a little bit later on. They even checked on us a few times while we ate. Very nice staff too! The restaurant is a good size with lots of tables for two and few bigger tables as well. They also have a separate bar if you want something other than soda with your burgers. I ordered the Moonlit Smashburger and the hubby ordered a chicken sandwich; we also ordered fries and a drink to share. The cup for the drink was super duper tiny though, and we weren't sure about refills so we just took shallow sips. Next time we'll make sure to get two drinks. The smashburger was so good!! Everything a smashburger should be. The moon sauce was tangy and complimented the meat so well. And those crispy edges!! The fries were nice and crisp too and the hubby thoroughly enjoyed his chicken sandwich. We left the restaurant satisfied and full!!
