Not to much good to say here. Rockfish grill is located on fisherman's wharf in Monterey. We originally chose this place because it was the only place on fisherman's wharf that didn't have a host of someone yelling outside abt how great they were trying to get people to come in. Well maybe we would have been better off at one of those other places. We started with drinks my Sauvignon Blanc was good nothing exceptional, it was a very classic New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc. My partners drink on the other hand was their house old-fashioned which was way overly sweet. Next onto to food I got the steamed garlic clams, which was basically just steamed clams in a water, tomato broth. Not good I couldn't even eat more than two just very bland. my partner got the Caesar salad the clam chowder and fries. Caesar salad, he said was was average starring at a five out of 10 the clam chowder he starred at a 6.5 saying that it did feel very fresh but was nothing special. Fries were crispy can never go wrong with some fries. Other than that, we were seated right by a window on the water, which was very nice. The view is very pretty. Their service was mediocre as well and took a while for food and someone to come around to check in on us. Definitely room for improvement here I would not suggest nor come back.

The food here is incredible. Not only does everything taste so good, but each dish is a work of art. Prices are very reasonable..if i only lived closer i would go all the time

Ambiance was nice as its on the Fisherman's Warf. Restaurant is nice, fancy vibes and you get cloth napkins. Staff were attentive and very quick. Food was all pretty good, except the clam chowder didn't have much clams at all. Very pricey but as to be expected because of location. Total was 142$ for 6 items.

Delicious and fresh food! The staff was polite and pleasant. Our drinks were staggered coming out but overall good experience. Plenty of seating with harbor views.

Ambiance is really perfect as you are at the end of the warff and have beautiful views of the water and wild life. Can't beat the spot. Food was ok. Had the rock fish tacos. Fish was fresh and tasted good but tacos left something to be desired. Service was very good and fast!

Haven't been to the wharf in a few years and when we did we always had a good dining experience, albeit a bit pricey. On this trip we decided to try Rockfish. This was our first time. It was just about noon but the the restaurant was nearly empty, except for one table of four. We seated at a nice table with a view of the bay and harbor. Lots of boats and seals to watch. The waiter came by in short order and took our drink and food order. I ordered the sourdough crab sandwich and my wife had the fish tacos. Two things. One, the entire restaurant empty they chose to seat a large noisy party right next to us. Two, they chose to clean the windows during service? I actually had to move out of the way while eating while the guy wiped the windows during service next to me. Now the food. We both started with the clam chowder which was very good but they don't give any sourdough, you have pay for it? We opted for crackers instead. My sandwich was grilled nicely but the crab did not taste fresh to my mind. It tasted more like canned crab. I love Dungeness crab and grew up in the Bay Area where it was readily available. I asked the waiter and he assured me it was made fresh daily from fresh crab. My wife's tacos were portioned generously and she said the fish tasted good but they over did the aioli sauce. Overall given the location, the price and the service it was just ok.

A very quiet February night on the old pier in Monterey, we took an Uber over from the Seven Gables, about $20. The pier was empty, a couple here and there certainly not like the day in mid summer. Weather was and has been spectacular and the stars were showing off tonight! We walked to the end of the pier, I've been here several times over the years. As we were seated there were only four tables with dinner guests, that's how slow it was. We knew M was going to "sample" the chowder and she did. A new rule was instated a while back...no fish n' chips unless there are fried shrimp too. wouldn't you know the Fisherman's Platter had it all, calamari too. So we got our cup of chowder and we shared the platter. The chowder was too perfect and I'd question whether this was made on the premises or just stirred up in the back. The Platter well...Let's say it was a decent meal for one but we made it work for us. Slightly over cooked didn't help justify the price they were charging. From the iced tea not being refilled to reminding the server with "some ranch dressing please", I got the feeling that the chef and manager overseeing the operation tonight wasn't happening. I felt sorry for Raymondo our server the only guy left working the floor, so we tipped well. I think we'll try one of the other half a dozen places next time. Foodguy-Martin

Pretty good! It's hard to know where to go on the boardwalk because there are so many restaurants that seemingly look the same and feature similar menus. I had the rockfish tacos that were really good. Firecracker shrimp was also delicious and side of fries was very hardy and could feed the table. Views were great! Service was lacking but food and views made up for it.

My meal was delicious. I ordered the stuffed salmon with crab meat, mozzarella, spinach and mashed potatoes and veggies. Had bread pudding for dessert (yummy). My husband had the spicy fried chicken sandwich that was cooked to perfection. Everything was so good. The service was constant. Meaning it was good to have someone checking on you but like 2-3 people almost every 5 minutes like they were rushing you became a little irritating but after you let them know I'm good, just give me a few minutes then they leave you alone for awhile. That way you can have a full conversation without being interrupted. Ambiance was nice. We had a few sea lions swimming near us. Great view even though it was a cloudy day. 4 out of 5 for service and 5 out of 5 for food.

At the end of the wharf easy to find. Amazing menu of delicious seafood and pleasant atmosphere. I sat at the bar and was greeted and served professionally by the bar tender. Rafael was awesome! Sand dabs were yummy and so was my day here in Monterey.

Loved the clam chowder and the fries here. My friend and I split the crab melt sandwich and all I could really taste was the bread and cheese..nothing to get excited about. They weren't super busy and our server could have been a bit more attentive with refills, but the view was nice and it was an overall okay lunch. Don't skip the fries!

Rockfish Harbor Grill is a winner! Killer panoramic views of Monterey Bay and the harbor. Loved the Harbor Seafood Pasta--jumbo shrimp, scallops, clams, fresh fish in a delicious garlic-white wine sauce. Fresh, loaded, and spot-on! Desserts were delicious and indulgent, service super friendly and attentive. Perfect waterfront seafood spot--definitely recommend!

I'm surprised at the low rating given to this restaurant. The service was a bit slow but they got the food out hot. Drinks weren't filled as quickly as we'd like but everything was correct. We loved sitting by the window and watching the otters play. The food was excellent. We also ordered the oysters but unfortunately no pics we ate them so fast. They were big and fresh. The restaurant was clean and tables were bussed quickly and turned over.

When we visited it was very busy so I would definitely recommend getting a reservation. I loved the decor and seating. The staff was so pleasant and had good recommendations. We started with some wine I had a delicious moscato and my hubby had a Cabernet. For an appetizer we had the fried asparagus and it was so fresh and full of flavor. The breading was not overly powerful or too much. They had 3 dipping sauces. I really liked the basil one, hubby thought it was too powerful. The lemon aioli was also very good but I absolutely loved the basil one. The red one was just okay to me but hubby liked that one the most. For our entrees I had the Saffron Seafood Pasta and hubby had the Carbonara Pasta dish. For mine it tasted like the seafood was just delivered right out of the ocean. The shrimp was huge, the scallops were plentiful and there was a lot of squid. The papardelle pasta was out of this world. Briney and creamy in the best way. Hubby enjoyed his dish but one bite of mine and he had food envy. We both agreed that tomatoes in my dish weren't needed. But it didn't take away my enjoyment of the dish. For dessert hubby had the tiramisu and I had the San Pietro sundae, minus whip cream, a vanilla gelato with pistachios, caramel coated almonds and salted caramel. It was so delicious, creamy and incredibly tasty. We will definitely be back to try more delicious food.

Gusto is one of the few truly scratch-made Italian restaurants that specializes not only in pizza, pasta, and sauces, but also features an old-school brick, wood-fired pizza oven. Hell, they even make their own mozzarella! They have not only caught the eye of locals and Yelpers, but have also managed to earn a recommendation in the current Michelin Guide. The Good: * Private parking lot, as well as street parking. * Fabulous service from Alex! * Prices are very reasonable considering the food quality. * Local beers on tap. * Strawberry Prosciutto Salad (seasonal special) was fantastic! Who knew strawberries paired so perfectly with salty, cured prosciutto and pistachios? This might not be on the menu all the time, but if you see it, get it! * Complimentary focaccia was unbelievably soft and delicious. As if it couldn't get any better, their olive tapenade served alongside it was equally delicious, making for an unbeatable duo. * The Margherita pizza is the ultimate test of a pizza restaurant--and they passed with flying colors! It's so simple that if something isn't right, it'll be easy to spot, but everything from the homemade mozz to the slightly charred crust and the delicious sauce made this the perfect pie. I give it a score of 3.14159265359...! The Meh: * Meatballs were a touch too tough and could've been a bit more tender. They were still fuçking delicious, so honestly, who cares? The Ugly: * Despite the name, Seaside isn't the most glorious place, and this location is downright sus AF. Conclusion: Maybe one of the best meals so far of 2026. If you have any doubts about coming here, relieve yourself of them and get down here posthaste.

We had a reservation and called ahead to ask if we could arrive earlier since we finished at the aquarium sooner than expected. We completely understood if the answer was no, but we were already in the area and if the answer was no, we could've totally kept busy until our actual reservation time, no big deal. The hostess, Paula, responded rudely, saying, "I can't do this right now," before handing the phone to another staff member, who kindly told us it would be fine. When we arrived, Paula simply pointed at our table and said, "There's your table," then looked down and ignored us. I wasn't even sure if we were supposed to seat ourselves until another staff member noticed and kindly escorted us to our table. The restaurant was empty when we arrived as well. At one point, we walked past Paula to get to the restroom and she slightly scoffed, looking at us with contempt. At first, I thought maybe I was overthinking it, however, throughout the evening, we noticed Paula and another staff member enthusiastically greeting and checking on every nearby table except ours. We were the largest party in the restaurant, celebrating a bride-to-be who was even wearing a veil, yet no one acknowledged the occasion. We felt so un-welcomed and it left a bad taste in my mouth. Our server was wonderful, unfortunately, the food was mediocre, nothing special, especially for the price. Overall, the poor hospitality overshadowed the entire experience. I hope management takes the recurring 1- and 2-star reviews seriously and works to improve the atmosphere because this was a very disappointing experience.

So glad that we got an opportunity to make a reservation because if not, then there would've been a 45 minute wait time from the point of where we approached the hostess stand. After my family arrived about five minutes later we got seated. We were taken to the back and we were accommodated for a table with six people. In the beginning, the waiter was very tentative to our needs, he had asked on what we wanted to drink, and while part of my family had asked for water my Wife and I had asked for Sprite. At about the five minute mark, our waiter finally came over with the water and our sprites and then began to ask us for our entrées if we knew what we wanted to eat. My brother and his girlfriend had ordered the artichoke appetizer and in the process of that the waiter had stated that he would bring over some bread in the meantime while we wait for our food. And a little bit of time, he then brought the bread and the appetizers and he did bring enough bread for both my brother's family and my wife and I that we were able to share it all. It even came with butter as well. I must say that the artichoke appetizer was very delicious yet the dipping sauce tasted like homemade tzatziki dressing. After our waiter disappeared, it took a little bit for our food to finally be delivered. I ordered the meatball sandwich, my wife ordered the lasagna ravioli, and while my meatball sandwich was very delicious and the lobster ravioli was delicious as well, we had asked the waiter for Brad to Richie. He ignored our requests. My wife tried to get his attention and had asked for bread twice to which both requests were ignored. The main reason why I'm giving a 3 star is because of a request for bread was ignored, and while the food was good, the view was beautiful, our waiter disappeared, and was not very attentive to any needs that we might've had at the time. No drink refills and no extra bread. As a matter of fact, a lady came over, and then asked how we were doing, and that was when my wife had to ask for another Sprite. The one thing that we were very unhappy about is how we were not told that when our Price were refilled, but it was another four dollars to order. So if you come to this restaurant and you order any soft drinks, make sure that you understand that for each drink that you buy, you will pay another four dollars per drink per person that is ordered. The drinks unfortunately, are not unlimited as we had ordered 2 Sprites with refills that cost us a total of $16. If the waiter was more attentive, and if we were told about our drinks, not being unlimited, I would have given this a better review. I'm not saying that this isn't a good Italian restaurant, because it is it's just that the waiter we had was everywhere else taken care of other people, to which I understand but didn't check on us periodically as he is supposed to. Being that we got a chance to sit outside the restaurant and the view of the ocean was very beautiful, and I even got the opportunity to take a picture of some sea otters that were out by the water. Overall, I probably would have given this a five that the food was good and the view was beautiful.

Our waitress was equally as amazing very attentive to us, refilling our drinks when needed (including the dog's water bowl) and checking in with us. The food was so yummy and delicious. We got the garlic bread to start and it was so light and airy. I was worried the bread was going to be heave and dense and that I would get full from it, but it was the opposite. The garlic and cheese added so much flavor to the bread. My husband got the Fangool pizza which he said was absolutely delicious and finished the whole thing. I got the cheese ravioli and it was also delicious, the cheese in the ravioli was so good and the pasta was cooked perfectly. It is a very cute place to eat and we actually enjoyed sitting in the patio with the cute decor it made you feel like you were eating in Italy. We will definitely be coming back here next time we're in the area.

Nestled in the heart of downtown Carmel, once you are parked, walk into this vintage rustic restaurant with nods to Frank Sinatra. They have seating indoor and out as well as a beautiful fireplace on those colder days. Our server was witty, engaging, and exceptional! We ordered truffle gnocchi, garlic bread, pear & Gorgonzola salad, and margarita pizza. Their portions are perfectly sized to share...which we did. We always leave here happy and satisfied and know you will too! Bravo Little Napoli!

I've only visited this restaurant when one of my work partners hosted an after-hours event during a…read moreconference. The first year, they served a variety of pizzas, crab cakes, and other delightful finger foods--all of which were delicious--along with an open bar. The second year, it was more finger foods (no crab cakes this time) and lots of free-flowing wine instead of a full open bar. The staff were fantastic--attentive and always keeping my water and wine glass full. I think I need to come back for a proper sit-down meal to give a full review, so for now I'll give 4 stars. No issues at all, but I can't quite give 5 since I didn't really get to experience the main menu.

The free water is gross, tastes like it's from the tap. We ordered the Huevos rancheros and the French toast. For drinks we opted for the vanilla latte and the cappuccino. The waiter then returned and said they are out of vanilla syrup. He went to kitchen and found some. He then returned and said they are out of beans for the huevos rancheros. They asked if we wanted another egg instead. I declined. The latte and cappuccino was really good. The French toast was mediocre and not worth the price. We opted for fresh fruit on the side and received a bowl of cut pineapple and blackberries that were not good. I can see why this place was empty on a Saturday morning. Not sure how they can be out of food for their breakfast items with only a few options to choose from. Don't think we are planning on returning.
