I'm visiting from California. My aunt and I thought we would try this place. First it was empty. Greeted at the front We sat at the bar. We were given menus. My menu had one set of prices and her menu the prices were cheaper. I asked Alice the manager.. she said "oh well, that is a mistake. The wings are $15, not $13. If you don't want to pay that you don't have to pay for it" umm mind you we have already ordered drinks and about to spend at least $100 and you want to dispute with a customer over $2 regarding your mistake in the menu that we were given... you just lost a customer... my aunt lives here ... and we won't be back. We were super excited about finally being able to come here...so to start the two stars are for the atmosphere, and music and partially the waitress that had finally came over to us. The food was not good, under seasoned, and overpriced. We started off with the lobster sliders and seafood eggrolls...my husband like the sliders they were bland to me...the seafood eggrolls were missing something but they were edible. The drinks were over-iced and the blue frozen drink was overly sweet... I had the seafood platter with shrimp and Mac and cheese...the shrimp was ok nothing to brag about. My husband had the rockhouse burger and only ate less than half of it...for the prices and the fact we had to also pay to park I expected better...with all the choices we have in Houston yall need to do better! read more

Live music, great food, hospitable service come through! I enjoyed our night at ROCKHOUSE. We came on a Friday night when there was live music from 9-11 pm. The band played all the singalong favorites and the leader singer has a heavenly voice. We sat at the bar for drinks and dining. I ordered the salmon and subbed potatoes au gratin for the asparagus. It was a pretty good size of salmon, and perfectly cooked. I'm undecided about the chilli glaze on the salmon, it was tasty, but next time I'll probably ask for it on the side. The potatoes au gratin, was as comforting and cheesy as you would expect! I love the atmosphere and the energy of this place and most certainly will return soon! read more

I keep wanting to love this place but the food just isn't good and I've been 3x. First time the seafood platter's catfish was undercooked. Second time, got the lobster tails with a side of grits. Specifically asked for the grits not to be too thick. Grits came out stacked and thicker than the waitresses there. Third time, I tried the seafood platter again with shrimp only and fries. Shrimp were hard and overcooked and the truffle fries were bland. My drink was over iced and watered down both times. The service was poor this last time too which is odd because the place wasn't packed at all. I kept the 3 star rating because the service had been good the other times. Probably would come back for the live music but never again for food or drinks. read more

DONT DO IT. Fraud and overcharges you! I really wanted to like this place, and this weekend was new for brunch there, the music was on point and the brunch drinks were pretty good. Hence 2 stars. BUT... After reviewing the receipt we realized we were overcharged a little over $100 and never received a response back from the manager. There was stuff we didn't even order and the prices on the menu didn't match what we were charged. This is fraud and i'm sure we aren't the only ones this happened to. read more

I went tonight, on opening night, and I must say, I have high hopes for this place! The ambiance is pretty cool. They have live music and even the restrooms were beautiful! We were greeted by a bunch of smiling faces at the door. Our server, Ciara, was also amazing and met us with a smile, suggestions, and just good vibes. I had the oxtail & grits. Much better than the experience I had at Prey! Oxtail we're fall off the bone, the grits were nice and creamy. First time visitor to this establishment with my daughter visiting from Los Angeles...not good!! I noticed my menu was different from my daughters and the prices were lower on my menu. Asked for manager (Alice) informed her of price difference of $2 between the menus, asked her to honor the lower priced menu. Alice began to rudely tell me no she wouldn't honor the $2 difference, it was an error on their part. Took the paper menu out of binder tore it up and walked away. REALLY!!! $2 and we spent $100. Please help me understand, if what I have in front of me represents your advertised price and you don't honor that. WOW!!! Then you walk away...I wanted to support my black owned business... NO SIR!! Came here with some friends and there is a lot to talk about this place. First off it is the old Diablo Loco in case you are wondering about the location. The only parking is valet and you have to pay a hot $20 for that. Having a reservation is probably highly recommended when you come here. I was trying to figure out the vibe of the place. In my opinion they are going for an upscale vibe, but the music playing (which I liked) makes it seem sports bar-ish. I agree with s prior post that this may be a upscale sports bar in a sense....now on to the food. I had the burger and fries. Burger was very meh to my tastebuds. I also ordered the jerk chicken nachos. Now those we the right amount of spice and I enjoyed very much. My table also ordered the wings which were s good size and full of flavor. I was happy to try those. We also had the oxtails and grits. The dish was good, not great according to my friend who had them. I had a bite and I like the smoked flavor of the oxtails. Had an order of the salmon and asked for the sauce on the side. Of course it came with the sauce on it. Which we rolled with the punches and enjoyed the bites I had of that. The sauce has a little kick to it. I did think I was in Vegas with the drink prices. $20 cocktails, it is what it is. The beer selection is very small, so take that as you may....my waiter was very attentive the whole time, as I am huge on service. Overall good place to check out. Sue was our server Thursday and Sunday as we were visiting from out of town. She was not even our waitress on Sunday but we had a horrible experience with the initial waitress who didn't even acknowledge us for over 30 mins. We remembered her Thursday evening and asked if she could help us and she was more than willing to do so. She went above and beyond for us and turned our experience around and we will come back next time we visit. She is also so cute and sweet! She is a keeper! read more

Paid $10 for SELF parking there is $20 for VALET that they park on grass and the attendants were barely kissing the walls with the bumpers. 2 stars because I enjoyed my jerk chicken nachos that was an appetizer dish -- all of the appetizers are in double digits and appetizer sized drinks are $20+, sat at the bar when I went and the service was great can't complain. The place looks nice like all other restaurants try to get their photo ops for instagram... would not return. This is the old Diablo's which I enjoyed for years! Now this place is not as good for their rebrand. I enjoy fine dining and this is not it but they have fine dining prices with mediocrity. I had one drink from the menu I didn't care for but that's my fault I typically don't like menu item drinks. I tend to just get what I like and what I know. I don't think it's necessary for them to make you pay for parking as it's the only parking lot attached to the building at a whopping $20, sorry but I think that's dumb and quite why black people keep leaving black establishments for other establishments because black businesses want to charge for everything. It's ridiculous. We sat in the lounge area where there was some great live music that was played a little later, but to sit you had to spend $100. Again, really?? I mean we were probably going to spend that anyway just because we planned to eat and drink, but what if we just wanted to vibe and have a few drinks. I have been here twice. I like the decor, the ambiance, and the service. Both times I had the same waitress and she is great. The first time I got the soul rolls and the second time I got th shrimp and grits. Something is missing from the food. I can't put my finger on it. It's not bad but it's not great. We both ordered drinks alcoholic beverages and they were pretty good. The server was really nice but we had to keep telling her over and over what we asked for. In addition to the alcohol beverage I ordered a fountain drink & it was flat so I sent it back. The food...I ordered the Rockhouse breakfast platter & he ordered the seafood platter. The fish was pretty good! The sausage on the breakfast platter was a bit tough not fresh..the cheese biscuit must not have been cooked fresh because it was hard as a rock and the cheesy grits were cold and not very tasty. The restaurant was not very busy so the kitchen shouldn't be serving cold or old food. Overall the price of the food & drinks for 2ppl was right at $98 with the tip we spent $120. We chose to sit on the patio since we wanted hookah. The food is pretty bland no flavor. We had wings. They were decent as well as the lobster sliders. Our actual main dishes didn't give though. We ordered the oxtails they had no flavor just like they came out of a smoker, the fish was very fishy, and the pasta wasn't worth the price to have no flavor.. the drinks are cute but not as strong as one would like..
