March GNO WITH THE LADIES!!! Yall...we have another grown and sexy resturant/bar/club back and I am here for it! Another BO resturant has hit the Richmond strip...and it's a throwback spot. If you remember Cabo, the horn, or Diablo loco where we used to hang back in the day...same spot! Apparently some heave hitters from derunken corner and prospect came together to make this happen. Let me start off with my one and only complaint. 20$ to park... RIDICULOUS..PLUS A 2$ TRANSACTION FEE IF YOU PAYING WITH CARD. So I started off 22$ in the hole which could have equalled a whole drink. However, we walked in and were greeted immediately. We already did our homework so we knew the tables had a 2 hour time frame...so we arrived a little earlier to go to the bar to extend the 2 hours out. They do have happy hour...but of course side cars didn't make the list. But the side cars were really really good. Once we were seated AJ took good care of us. The dj was jamming the 90s R&B...so the vibe was on point. I think we ordered half the menu and everything was soooo good! The soul rolls with the Collard greens and Shredded oxtils in them ....muah!!!! My firecracker Salmon might have been the best I've ever had. Tore up the Brussels! We also had the jerk chicken nachos..seafood platter..wings..lobster sliders..rib eye..gouda Mac and cheese....EVERYTHANG WAS GOOD! And we didn't even get put out at our 2 hr time frame. We sat for about a extra 30 minutes and ironically my favorite band was there...the CITY...so we jammed it out the rest of the night in the back room with the band. If you are looking for a spot to eat, drink and listen to music this is a nice spot to visit as a group or couples night out. My recommendation is to make reservations ahead of time if you wish to seat in the live performance section of the restaurant. It was a Friday night, we did not make reservations and was seated right away, but we could not see the live performance, only hear. There is also an outside patio which is huge. Our waiter was Jade. She was very friendly, showed great hospitality and checked on us often, but the food and drinks coming out the bar and the kitchen was very slow. We ordered the Bayou City Flatbread which was very good and was made with a jambalaya pizza sauce. For drinks my friend ordered Lady sings the blues which she said, "was too juicy" and ordered a tequila sunrise which she liked better. Soooo I pondered in this review because of the age of the restaurant. I came here with my family who had a reservation for 6:15p but did not get seated until almost 6:45. When we were seated it was about 30 min before our waitress, who was very sympathetic, came to assist us. Other tables who were sat after us were served food before us which was extremely disappointing. They also ran out of crawfish for a few hours as well. But when that food hit that table... let me tell y'all them egg rolls did not make it past 30seconds. Besides us waiting for our food for ever the food was soooo tasty. The steaks were seasoned and them darn crawfish made my soul smile. So even though the service was not exceptional due to the kitchen being backed up, our server only having large parties, and food basically not available... the actual taste of the food smacked!!!! If I didn't have to endure much hardships I would definitely return. Oh and the ambiance was phenomenal. Whoever decorated did an amazing job. It's just the customer service aspect. read more

Parking is $20 self park.. or valet.. some larger vehicles are parked up the curb along the left side of gate/fence. Valet drives up the curb to park your car. They're trying to maximize real estate by doing this, but what in the actual f*ck? UNBELIEVABLE!! They ruined the alignment on our Lexus GX SUV ramming wheels up and down a curb. Valet even directs self parkers to park in the handicap space. Witnessed this as we were waiting to retrieve our car from Valet. I'm certain that's illegal for you to charge for a handicap parking space and even direct able bodied patrons to park there. We went in on a Saturday night, 6-6:30 pm fight night with no reservations, a group of 10-15 of us. All tables were "reserved" we were told. Sure no problem, we got waitlisted and grabbed drinks at the bar, while we waited for our group. In the 1.5 hours we were hanging out, at minimum there were 15-20 EMPTY tables. They require bottle service or something for reservations. We left. We got a text message maybe around 9-9:30 indicating there was a table available for us ? No thanks. It's a shame, y'all let an EASY $750+ tab walk away bc of "supposed" reservations. All i saw were empty tables. Oh there's also an automatic 20% gratuity added to your drink tab. Great ambiance and food looked great, but we'll never know. Plenty of places in Houston for food and drinks. We couldn't wait any longer for Too short. 4 hours was enough. Btw: One of the Mgr tried to make us leave our table at 12:15am. Told us we had a two hour limit. Our reservation was for 9pm. The service is terrible. Wait staff is slow. They spend the majority of their time standing or sitting around on their phones. Nobody informed us that they switch to a late night menu at 11pm. At 11:08 I tried to order potatoes and was told that wasn't on the late menu. Several minutes later the waitress came by with the late menu. After spending $250 at this establishment for WINGS and FRIES. we were told to leave because we have been seated for 2 hour. Mind you, no one COMMUNICATED to us that they had a 2 hour limit policy. But to be told to leave after spending $250 is wild. When my family member spoke to management, he said that is not their policy but when the waitress who told us to leave said she told us that and stood on what she said, he crumbled and offered no explanation or resolution. I actually love this place and have had a good time both times I went! I went for happy hour and they have great specials on delicious cocktails. The bartenders were nice, the food was really good and so bar appropriate. The ambience is very open I like that you can feel super indoor, very indoor outdoor, or 100% outdoor...like all three vibes are available. The music is always good because I mean the owner is consistent in setting a vibe for all of his establishments. I went to a concert that they had at night and that was equally as lit which gave me an opportunity to see the difference between a toned down happy hour and a nighttime event that was almost like a club but definitely not a club. On top of that the waitress didn't give any receipts and decided she was gonna charge my card an extra $52. & proceed to lie and say my first transaction was declined after me clearly showing it on my account summary. Here's the problem. One that I've never seen or heard of before and hope to never again. I was here for my wife's birthday party and we bought our own cake. The waitress who assisted us offered to cut the cake which was of course not a problem, I mean how nice of her; why not? Well when I got my bill I was shocked when I discovered a $20.00 "cake cutting fee". Now the frustration grew because everyone is trying to nickel and dime you with fees, gratuity, service fee, take out fee, credit card fee, etc. where does it stop? The waitress never mentioned a "cake cutting fee" nor was this fee listed anywhere on the menu which left me feeling extremely disrespected. There were at least 15 of us at the table and neither one would have had any problems cutting our own cake. I politely and patiently refused to pay that "fee" and I must admit management was extremely professional and immediately removed the fee from my receipt. Let's start with the pros: The DJ played nice music during Sunday brunch The hostess was polite Another hostess was pleasant and accommodating when we requested to move to a different table. (The booth they originally put us in had holes in the seat, maybe due to Hookah, and the table Wobbled really bad). Cons: $10 to self park...why? We sat at our table for so long that another server noticed that we didn't have water and brought us some and said she would find our server. Server finally arrives and we ordered since we were ready after sitting so long. But she said we had her confused when we ordered pancakes FROM THE MENU. She said "oh where is that". Smh Food comes out wrong and when they sent back to correct, THAT FOOD came out wrong too. Server never checked on us. We had to ask other servers to help us. We were told something was wrong in the kitchen Again...no server until the end when it was time to pay. She mentioned that someone told her we had issues (no apology followed) And guess what...THE automatic 20% gratuity went to a server that DIDNT SERVE. I attended Rockhouse for THE Prairie View A&M University's homecoming week, this past Thursday. I really enjoyed the ambience and vibe. It was an older crowd/lounge/kickback vibe. I enjoyed the combination of live music and active DJ. It was also nice that there were 2 separate inside areas and an outside patio to breathe on. Our server was sweet and attentive. Met up for food and drinks for Cinco de Mayo with my friend. Years ago we used to come here when it was named Diablo's. The inside looks exactly the same, spacious and a nice patio. There was a special on Crawfish $4 per pound, we ordered 2lbs and they did not disappoint. The crawfish were perfectly seasoned and great spice level. Next we ordered 4 appetizers: soul rolls, lobster sliders, flatbread and the wings. The flat bread and lobster sliders were great, the wings lacked flavor and the soul rolls were just ok. I gave only 3 stars because the music was extremely too loud, we asked our waitress repeatedly could it be turned down just a little as we could not even have a conversation without yelling. Also we felt very rushed to eat and leave, in which we later found out they have a 2 hour max on table reservations. The last straw was the valet, they are short staffed or mismanaged. We ended up getting the keys from the attendant, walking through the parking lot and found our car. The car was parked on the grassy area next to the parking lot and blocked in by other vehicles. I didn't pay $20 valet to not be parked in a parking space. We found an another valet worker who was able to move the blocked cars but that whole process took 20 minutes. read more
