Came here for cousin Cake Day. Rude young kids running the place first off. Food came out cold. I ordered sausage, cor, and garlic noodles. For the corn butter they use the same butter for the crab, so its dripping all over the place. Sausages were greasy, and the garlic noodles have nothing on mine. Too ramen taste better, they are bland no seasoning or garlic. The best thing was my drink Strawberry Ice Tea! I only ate the food because it was my first and last meal for the day 4pm. Wow!!! My lips are still hot from the medium sauce that we got on pound of mussels and a pound of crawfish. We also got corn on the cob (cooked in the sauce that the seafood was cooked in). It was my first time eating crawfish, and a whole lot of work for the amount of meat you get. DO NOT EAT HERE IF YOU ARE ORDERING TO GO. We ordered online for pick up and the food was DISGUSTING. I've eaten here in the past multiple times and never had an issue and the staff is always friendly and accommodating. But I ordered online for the time online for pick up and the crab was rubbery and ALL the shrimp was not deveined or cleaned. Literally still had the poop and veins. The sauce was also lumpy. It felt like I was given an order from the day before. I reported the issue and never received a call or comment back from management. This was a direct health violation and we are pursuing this with the health department because the restaurant has made no attempt at resolving the issue. See photos below of our meal. I Love the Rockin' Crawfish in San Pablo. It's a fun vibrant sports bar restaurant that you can get your seafood fix at. This girl loves her buttery garlic prawsa and garlic noodles, so we had to try it out. We sat at the back bar, ordered up some fresh oysters, prawns and garlic noodles. Our favorite items that we typically get from these boil-in-bag seafood spots. They did not disappoint, the food was fast and delicious. They cook the shrimp with the head on in a combination or buttery garlic sauces. The only thing that I wish they had was a decent hot sauce. I love my seafood spicy and when I asked for hot sauce, I got something like Frank's Red Hot - which is not spicy in my opinion and better on wings than seafood. A place like this should be making it's very own hot sauce to go along with the good grub. Please don't make me bring my own, lol. The place has a fun vibe, sports on every screen and people enjoying their food everywhere. The service was really nice, happy to see such a great restaurant open a new location nearby. Today, I called to place an order but whoever she is answering the phones needs to be replaced. I called and after several rings the first thing she said when she picked up was what's you number then asked for my name. Then asked me to confirm if I wanted to order from the San Pablo location. So no, hello thank you for calling Rockin Crawfish or at least Hello can I take you order. Since you're questioning if I'm failing the right place, maybe say Rockin Crawfiah Dan Pablo. Through my order she rushed me. Kept asking me anything else before she has what flavor, do I want head off, etc. Her attitude was why I hung up on her. I don't need to give you my money. First off, definitely impressed with how the music selection here is better than some clubs I've been to, HAHA ! Thoroughly pleased with my experience here minus the priceyness of the pound of shrimp ($15.99 per pound ?!), but maybe that's from how it's not shrimp season (??). Got half a pound of shrimp, Rockin' Combo sauce with medium spice level and thought it had the perfect amount of "sauce" inside the bag, meaning enough garlic bits and not too overwhelmed with heaps of oil. At other places, sometimes I feel grossed out seeing how much oil my shrimp is drenched in. The medium spice level wasn't even spicy, so if you want that kick, make sure to get a spice level up! Good solid sized shrimps that tasted delicious when I dipped into the sauce ! MmMmmm ! Got the waffle cut cajun fries and thought they were okay - definitely could've been crunchier ! They also got soggy pretty quickly. I don't think anywhere will beat my beloved garlic cajun fries at Firehouse Crawfish, but these waffle cut fries were fun to eat ! It's nice that they come with bbq sauce, ranch, and ketchup ! Food came out quick, and I thought the overall decor of this location was "chill" like other cajun/shrimp places with taggings from people on the walls & seats. We used to love coming here. Great customer service, decent prices and good food. Nowadays, it's the total opposite. Service isn't great and prices are much higher. Plus there's an additional fee for dining in now. I haven't been there I a long time and had a long day so decided to stop by with my husband for their $1.50 oysters only to find out they didn't have any. Such a disappointment! And then get charged an extra fee to dine in! And I didn't even ask to use their paper plates plus they gave us some crumbs at the bottom of the waffle fries. Had to send that back for a new batch. So, I already am a 5-star kind of fan of another Asian Cajun place not too far from here, but since home is much closer to this place - not to mention I frequent the grocery store right across the way - I figured... eh. After waiting it out a little over 5 minutes, we decided to try to catch someone's attention since no one made any kind of attempt to connect with us. It was about an 8-10 minute wait before we were tended to - and that's with us having the need to catch someone's attention. For dinner, Hubbers got the Dungeness crab with rockin' combo spicy sauce. I ordered the crawfish, rockin' combo original sauce. For side dishes, we got the fried oysters, rockin' wings and garlic noodles. The rockin' wings were alright. It didn't really give that great of an impression. The garlic noodles were good, but I feel like the garlic was a little too raw for my taste - however, still bearable and delicious. The fried oysters were AMAZING!!! I would order that AGAIN next time! My crawfish was quite good - again, the garlic came off quite raw, and I'm guessing that's how they serve their garlic on their dishes - RAW. I understand the garlic needs to stand out, somehow, but it doesn't have to be that strong. But overall, I'm good with it. I'd most likely order this again. The prices were quite higher in comparison to the other place I love going to. It could have been a seasonal thing, or... who knows, but that is probably the ONE thing that might deter me from this place. Review #130 - 2018 After we got our shave ice from Aloha Pure Water next door, I decided to head over and place a take out order here since I had to go back home and cook dinner. We showed up around 2:45 PM and the restaurant wasn't too busy so I guess if we want to dine in next time, we should try to come around this same time. The young lady who helped us was very friendly. I ordered a pound of the head-on shrimps and clams in the spicy rockin' combo sauce, which was the perfect level of spicy, but it was a little on the salty side. If I'm not mistaken, I think they don't use MSG in their sauce so it's missing that extra flavor. Their rockin' wings were actually very good and flavorful. The boys really liked it a lot! Everything we ordered was excellent. The servers are friendly, but move so fast they may come out as rude so don't expect 5-star service. You have to flag them down after you order because they do not check up on you. We ordered the Dungeness crab for $46.99 which is pricey. Shrimp $12.99/lb & Mussels $16.99/lb. w the Original Rockin Sauce. Loved the flavors and the fact that they gave me the medium spice sauce on the side for no extra charge. Space: bigger than Oakland branch. Tables are spaced decently. They have booths. They have a bar. They also have a somewhat isolated space if you have a bigger party. Staff/Service: same with Oaklnd, friendly staff and always checking if you need something. They are very approachable and always smiling (not in an abnoxious way). Drinks: they have Sakitinis, I love the mango the best. They have draft beers, bottled beers, and wine! Soda, of course, is unlimited. Always a plus, they have hot water, for folks who can't bear cold drinks (like me). Food: Calamari was good, was not overlooked, breading was perfect, not to the point that you can't find the calamari itself. It's actually calamari, as opposed to breading and little calamari (like other places). It comes with fried basil, yum! Chili Cheese Fries (didn't order during this visit, but we usually do) is always good. It's packed with cheese, beans, etc. You can bank on it that it won't be just fries. Good proportion between fries and chili cheese. Fries are also crispy! Shrimps are always fresh. We always order lemon pepper, mild, no head. With a little patience with squeezing limea into it, taste really good. Not too salty, not oily. Limes are mostly juicy. Price/Method of Payment: decent, comparable to other places. They accept major credit cards, including Amex. Restroom: clean BUT only two cubicles and one sink, meaning if they were busy, it will also be busy in the restroom. (note: this is NOT Nordstrom restroom) oh, please fix the faucet. I recommend this place. It's so nice that they opened a Rockin Crawfish, especially with a bigger parking lot- in comparison to the Oakland location. I've been to the Concord location, and it just didnt taste the same as the Oakland spot. But this San Pablo location, I would say, tastes almost exactly the same! Great fresh seafood, haven't had a bad experience with the shellfish yet. Service is great, almost a little too attentive, but I think the servers are being trained to be hovering over the people.. Sometimes I just don't like to talk as I am sucking hard on the.. Shrimps! However, experience wise, there's no place that is comparable to the Oakland location. This was first time to this restaurant. I loved the vibe I got when I walked in. The Booths are a little ran down but I feel it's a work of art. This is writing all on the walls and doors of the restaurant. The menu is nice and small but has a lot to offer. I went with family and we all order something different. I order shrimp in a bag with garlic and butter sauce Mild rub. I ordered a side of garlic noddles which I loved. And for drinks I orders a Marilyn Monroe which is a Sakitni it was so good and tasty. They gave us bibs and gloves cause it got messy. I would come here again the location was great in a shopping center and five minutes away from my house I will be back for more The only con was the menu didn't have prices for the seafood in a bag. I've been coming here since they first opened and they were really good at first but overtime the customer service and food has just gone down the drain. Last time I came, the fries came after the crab, then my crab was wayyy too salty. The following time, waiter never came back to check on us. My husband had to go twice to the bar to request a refill. First time youd think they would do a better job making sure we were taken care of. Nope. Completely left us hanging. Overall the food is a hit or miss sometimes they're good. Sometimes you can tell they rushed the food. The final straw was tonight as I walked in at 840 as they close at 930 and was told they only do takeout orders now after a certain time. I did see a sign as my way out that said 30 mins before closing. It was 50 mins before closing. Last time my family and I come here. I love the vibe and energy cause it's just a fun spot for a casual dinner and you can get hyphy while peeling some scrimps lmao honestly tho the food here is really good. If you really want to compare real fresh crawfish and the shitty crawfish this place is trying to sell you, just head to san pablo super market. At 5.99 a pound, them crawfish are alive and fresh! Buy their sauce and do your own boil. Your taste bud will know there is a BIG different and thanks you for it. I also ordered the fried oysters. Whoever thought they should add more salt to the oyster batter should be ban from the kitchen! The two stars are for the shrimps. They were fresh and large. Overall, fingers licking good. Really prompt service and seriously delicious seafood! I went with a friend after work and we had the gumbo with some fries and shrimp. The gumbo was a really generously sized portion and it was loaded with flavor. And I love how it came to the table piping hot and steaming. I had some kind of mango cocktail that was delicious and still strong enough to leave me buzzing a bit. Super tasty and refreshing! The service was also great.
