We had had some not great experiences with other contractors so it was great to connect w Allie and Dave at RR. The contracting, permits, scheduling process was communicative and easy. We had some electrical work that needed to be done and they were able to accommodate that as well. During the installation, we got regular updates from Allie and the old deck removal, insulation install, and new deck took exactly as long as predicted. I was referred to Rockin Roofers through a trusted friend & biz referral source who has connected me with other tradespeople in the past. Don came out when scheduled, explained everything clearly and provided me his bid. I reminded him it was for an insurance repair & needed it to be itemized; he did so & sent me the revision as promised. The crews showed up on time, did all the work as cited in the contract, not only w/o any change orders or hidden additional charges, but Don also had them perform an additional small maintenance repair on another similar skylight to prevent another leak, and replace additional ridge vent shingles, at no extra charge. I'm very grateful for that! I did have a couple questions and was referred to Proj Mgr Robert who contacted me promptly, and then also made time to drive by before the guys left so I could see & clearly understand his answers to my questions. I work with different tradespeople and had a great experience with everyone (including the office staff as well, thnx Oriana, Lucy & Sara!) at Rockin Roofers. Even though my job was an insurance repair, and not a total roof replacement, they treated and communicated with me professionally, they cleaned up well and left my home and yard better then they found it. Do not hire Rockin' Roofers. While Simply Solar, the owner of this company, does good work, the roofing subsidiary is the worst contractor I've ever worked with. The staff who field the calls from me are great. But the guy in charge, Don Kestler, is full of promises his team just can't keep. His team made a huge list of mistakes that I had to keep close track of, and it was months before they were corrected. In fact, as I write this, it has been six months since I first lodged a complaint about my newly installed gutters. They were holding water at the ends, not draining to the downspout. There was a leak right where two of the gutters came together. And there was no gutter guard on one of the gutters. (They had subbed out the gutter work to another company, whom they later fired.) I called the support staff weekly for six months to finally get someone to work on the problem. The leak got fixed, but the gutters are still holding water, and the gutter guard is still missing. Apparently Don Kestler is pushing me off because he thinks I'm whining and the shoddy work isn't his responsibility. If you don't enjoy calling and calling to get something fixed that you paid for, then avoid this company. read more

There are a lot of hidden costs, the quote that they gave me excluded an additional layer of roof removal and excluded the underlayment. It eventually led me to pay about 50% more than the initial quote. Would not recommend or go through the things that are covered in detail with them. I chose Rockin' Roofers because of the low quoted price and they could get the job done before the rainy season; they said they were scheduling jobs in early October when I gave them my deposit in August. After hounding them to schedule the job they finally gave me a date in January. That alone should have been breech of contract but the contract in writing didn't say when they could do the work, so my bad for not getting that in writing before paying a deposit. I had another roofer check out the roof and they said it looks fine, contrary to Rockin' Roofer's inspection results. Another lesson: get multiple inspections, not just quotes for the job. And of course they refuse to refund my deposit. Also, the project manager was super green. Every time I called with a question he didn't know the answer. All around this was a pretty bad experience and I definitely would not recommend them. read more

I used Simply Solar a few years ago (2018) at my house and they had fixed a small leak that I had at the time they installed the Solar. Well, a commercial building we own had a badly leaking roof and after our management team received a few estimates all in the low to mid 40K range I gave Jake at Simply Solar a call to see if their team handles commercial TPC roofs. Thankfully they do, they sent a crew out to take a look at the roof and sent me a complete report with photos of all the issues and how they would be corrected. Once we understood what was needed to properly fix ALL of the leaking areas they got to work. They need to finish up and hopefully it will be done by the end of next week. But I needed to leave this, after watching these guys work we are SO happy that we went with them. They know that this building is in use by a large company and make sure not to be in the way. Their workmanship is top-notch and every time I'm there they've left the property spotless and only leave materials in the predetermined area. These guys were great. We needed a new roof and had wanted to have solar done for quite some time. We had three solar bids, two with roofing bids also. Then we also had two roofers bid the work. Simply Solar and Rookin' Roofers were one of the bidders. Both divisions made us feel very comfortable with their knowledge and products. The other solar company didn't even bring their roofer with them. Actually Rockin' seemed to know more about the different roof options we had and we ended up choosing reflexive shingles that would make our house retain less heat. The other roofers never even offered this option. Just like Simply they kept us informed all the way through and there were no "surprises". We also had the gutters and downspouts done which went fine. I would recommend Rockin' even if you're not having solar done. I was in the contracting business for over 40 years (just retired) and know how hard it is to run a company and get the right employees. If these guys keep it up they will be in business for a long time. read more

If I could give less than one star, I would. We contracted with Simply Solar for a solar system and a new roof. This company is their roofing division. We opted for a standing seam metal roof, something that's not too common in this area. Before we signed any contracts, Don Kestler, the director of Rockin' Roofers, came to our house with the Solar Salesman to discuss the metal roof and options. Don assured us he had 30 years experience and his staff had done metal roofs before. He stated they were trained and certified by the supplier as installers. We believed him ... don't do that. Our project started in July, estimated to be two and a half weeks. The project took six weeks! The tear off team did not protect my siding, causing damage to our downspouts, tar smears on new siding and a huge mess that they did not properly clean up. They took on 3 metal projects at once, and sent the one experienced person they had to another job. The team sent to our house did not have much experience, with the foreman trying to teach the workers about metal on site. At one point I was asked by one of the roofers why I didn't just get a composite roof, this one was too hard. They did not clean up each day, as promised on the contract. I have 3 small dogs that we let outside in the yard, but not until after I would go out and pick up. I had to pick up metal shards, screws, plastic and other trash - including their lunch containers, from my yard. My favorite was picking up the cigarette butts! My siding was less than 2 years old, but they had to remove portions of it to get the metal roof to fit under. It took multiple conversations before they replaced it properly, sealing all seams. I have pictures of the chimney base "flapping out" and they considered that appropriate. The Solar installation team was sent out multiple times to get started on their piece, and could not do so because the roofers had not finished enough. At one point solar panels had to be taken back off because the roofers had to go back and complete an area. I can go on about this experience, but I'd rather not ... I can't speak to their workmanship on composite roofs, but don't ever use this company for a metal roof! read more

We hired Rockin Roofers to remove the existing roof and replace with a new 50 year roof, with a non prorated no dollar limit warranty that also covers labor. From my research, this is the best warranty that any roofing company offers - and it's transferable! They use products that are made in America, and do not use sub contractors for any part of their roof installations. From start to finish, we were kept well informed of all project timelines and status updates. There were no big surprise change orders like some contractors like to hit you with after you sign a contract. I felt that Rockin Roofers was honest and straightforward, and very much in line with the other quotes that we received. Our roof is not an easy roof, it has a very steep pitch to it, so our other concern was SAFETY. Their workers were roped in, and practiced all necessary safety precautions throughout the project. My wife's concern was exposing ourselves to liability if someone was injured, but knowing that they don't use subcontractors and practice necessary safety protocols was all the peace of mind needed. I recommend Rockin Roofers. And they also have a highly rated solar company called Simply Solar. They are locally owned and their employees really show their pride of work. I understand that they install battery back up systems as well. read more

Decided to go solar last year, not only to save money (federal dollar for dollar 30% tax rebate)but also to save some of our non renewable resources. After 6 in-home visits from six different solar and roofing companies (i decided to replace the original 22 year old fire-prone heavy wood shake shingle roof which also fell under the 30% tax rebate offering) I decided to go with David Morgan (408) 348-5781 from Simply Solar and Rockin' Roofers. Rockin' Roofers is a part of Simply Solar. A one-stop-shop which I thought i might need in order to prevent/eliminate any kind of "finger pointing" if the time ever came when there might be problems from one trade overlapping with the other..... BUT THAT NEED NEVER OCCURRED! Rockin' Roofers planned the job, came prepared with equipment, materials and people that knew what they were doing and subsequently passed the county roofing inspection first time around! I dont know about you but thats never happened to me before. To say the least I was very pleased Not only that, Rockin' Roofers repaired a few hundred dollars of wood rot caused by the original roofers incompetence, for free!!! PLUS they swapped out my 6 stationary roof skylights with 6 solar operated, with blinds, roof windows (once again, another 30% fed tax rebate captured!). After 12 months and several heavy duty windy rainstorms and drenching downpours, NO LEAKS OR PLUGGED UP RAIN GUTTERS (as a part of their roofing contract they automatically add in gutter covers!) I'm actually quite proud of myself for having made the choice to go with David.
