Tasty crab butter and seafood , excellent fast and caring service with everything I needed

First experience today and it was not a disappointment. Was greeted and seated the moment we walked in. Server was sweet and down to earth. She made an effort to get to know us which was sweet. The establishment was clean and spacious. I enjoyed the music they played too. I only ordered the mussels and scallops, but the rocking crab seasoning was good. It reminded me of Crafty Crab's seasoning. The sides I had were potatoes and corn which were tasty. They did not have a kids meal but later I read the menu and they had chicken nuggets in the sides menu. The French fries were delicious too. Salty, crunchy and fresh. Definitely coming back to try more on the menu. read more

Tried this place out for the first time last week and I was pleasantly surprised. Was pleased to know they had scallops as a part of the boil and they were huge and most importantly... not overcooked! The seasoning choices were good and they have this lime seasoning that is really great and sets the apart from some of the other seafood places that are similar. The service was great and our waitress was very attentive and pleasant. They offer happy hour and drink specials even after happy hour!!! The drink I tried was the marijuana something but it was GREAT!!! My only thing which is not a complaint more of a FYI... the boil could come with a little more sauce in the bag and while I like spicy food but got the medium (I think that's is the mid-level spice) it was a little "spicer" than I expected. Not to the point of being to hot to enjoy, just more than I expected. The place was also clean and the seating/space was adequate for different size groups! Overall great 1st impression. I ordered snow crab legs, potato, corn, lobster tail, and eggs. The sauce was really good. I told them I wanted a mixture of all the sauces they had. It's called the Rocking Special. It had a nice flavor to it and there was plenty of sauce to pour over my seafood as I was eating it. The place was pretty busy when I went. The guy up front took my order and he was very kind and helpful with picking out what seafood I wanted. There's happy hour specials from 3 to 6 and plenty of seating for you and your friends after work. Music is not too loud. It's a very cool atmosphere. I've been here several times before. My food is always good and only takes 10 to 15 minutes for them to prepare. read more

The server lost my debit card!!After handing my bill to the server with my card she walks away comes back to say "there was nothing in there. Okay so I put it in there looking confused and in my wallet so I stand up and she walks her path comes back no card 10 -15 min no manager comes to rectify the situation my frustration turns into anger because that's my card and NO ONE has come out. She finally comeback and say they're reviewing tape so I locked my card payed with cash so that I can leave and not cause any trouble gave these people my phone number to call me. I got home 15min later called a girl says the vid was reviewed we didnt see you put your card in the bill fold!! I said WHAT ILL be there cause WE need to see this vid I get there ask for a manager she comes and open register and hands me my card! I say OH well per phone call I was told y'all didn't see me put the card in the bill fold another lady intervenes and say oh no she said we couldn't tell if you put it in the bill fold the card was found under your seat!!! Most Try!! We just moved here from Texas and was so nervous that we would not get the flavors like home. We have tried 4 other places and this is our FAVORITE!!! Open to suggestions and very friendly! Shadow, Haley, Dawn, Trish and the COOKS (EDDIE, JASON and COBY are the best) Make sure you ask Eddie to spicy it up if you like it EXTRA spice. First time visiting this restaurant. I love you get greeted at the door and seat down soon you walk in. Our waitress Erika was very friendly and she also was the bartender. Happy hour 3pm- 6pm and 6pm until close $5 drink specials. I had the Hurricane and it was on point. I had the snow crab, shrimps, potatoes & corn with mild rocking sauce special for $25.99. The sauce is good. They have different flavors. We got our food fast. It wasn't crowded. It alot of seating space for a large party and very clean. This is a new spot where a couple of old favorites used to be, so I gave them a shot. The bartender was excellent and the servers were extremely nice, not very attentive, but nice. The food was presented as expected and came out quickly. The disappointing part was the flavor. There was none. For a good drink or a friendly vibe, stop by. Called to ask time they closed and they told us at 10. Came in to dine in at 9 but were told they were only serving to go. My husband asked why if they advertised closing at 10. The rep said it was according to management when my husband asked to speak to manager she said she was the manager. She was very sarcastic. First off, let me start with the good. -The atmosphere was inviting for a strip mall restaurant -Initially, it appeared everyone was seated every other table for COVID -The dining area and bathrooms were clean. The bad: -I tried to order a drink while we wait but I was told I needed to order food to follow COVID regulation (okay, I can wait for my table). -We waited for about 45 minutes when our buzzer finally went off. (Would have been nice to indulge in a drink while I waited). -We walk up to the counter with flashing buzzer in hand, the hostess takes the buzzer and tell us the table isn't ready. (So we sat back down in the overcrowded waiting area) -10 minutes later, we see the hostess piecing tables together right next to people at the bar. We confirmed it for us which we were wtf. They said they didn't realize we were a party of five and we would have to wait an hour.... Needless to say, we walked out and will never come back. They tell me they follow regulations about my drink from the bar but yet, they try to sit us literally one foot from another party?!? read more

For the money and what we got... we won't be going back. Service was lacking. Food was not worth the $. We went on a Thursday evening. Wasn't dead but it wasn't overly busy. My drink failed to make it to our table. We waited a long while for our food. I finally asked about my drink when the food arrived. The waitress made up a terrible excuse for the drink taking so long. Just be honest, you didn't put it in. Our granddaughters Mac n' cheese was clearly boxed Mac n' cheese. Sad for a restaurant. My husbands fried shrimp was ok but the fries were awful. They tasted like they were fried in OLD oil. I got the lobster, shrimp and crab boil. Lobster was tough and so hard to get out of the shell. Crab was small and little meat. The shrimp was the only good thing about the dish. My husband said we could go to Ted's Montana grill (bet door) or Rocklin crab. They have improved tremendously. I now enjoy take out or dine in at the restaurant. The seafood has always been fresh and the restaurant itself is clean and pleasant. I had a great experience here. The fried oysters were amazing. As well as the fried shrimp. The fried seafood dipped in their garlic butter sauce just stepped it up a notch for me. And the garlic butter is just one huge mess. I had the blue crab in season. On our way to Costco afterward I think I'm going to grab a hot dog. The blue crab had barely any meat. The restroom had no hot water. You turned the knob to hot and nothing. And no soap which is disgusting. Okay.... while the food is okay.... the customer service is worse than McDonald's. told a 30 min wait, we waited for over an hour. When we sat down and got a menu the menus were stickier than syrup. Ordered drinks took almost 45 mins to get the first one . When I got it it was watered down, had to go to the bar to order another shot to put in it. The server we had was clueless. And another server came and tried to take our order after we placed ours... asked for the check waited 15mins for that before I had it and went up front and asked for the check. The food was ok taste the same as any other place similar to this, hot and juicy, mr and mrs crab. My only complaint is that the sauce needs more seasoning I had the special sauce which is a mixture of all sauces and I had to request a side of old bay. The shrimp are big and they give you tons. I did not like that you cannot substitute, to me it just makes me feel like the food is precooked. Overall it was ok you've had one crab place you've had them all nothing special. read more

Hello all the Wife and I went to Rocking Crab on Blanding Blvd for a quick meal. Ok, now the place has potential to be a good place. It's in a good location but they close at 11, the inside was near empty an the waiter was trying to be the waiter and the bartender. The food was ok. Now if I were the owner I would spend a few dollars an advertise to get my customers up. If I were the owner I would cater to the area an extend my business hours. This place was outstanding. I could not stop saying how good everything was. The service wasn't terrible and they were pretty quick with everything. And if you like oysters this place is it, I got a half a dozen for $9.99 and the size of them were perfect and didn't have that grain taste. I love crab and have been a loyal customer to the "competition" just down the road from this establishment. However, today they were overwhelmed, and I decided to give the Rocking Crab a chance. Suffice to say, they didn't earn my return business. I placed an order to go, two one-pound orders of Dungeness. One steamed only, the other house special/mild. And wanted to have an extra 1/2 pound of Dungeness added to the order. Hostess said no can do with the Dungeness; One-pound portions only. (Funny thing was Dungeness was offered in 1/2-pound portion on the menu.) I then added a dozen lemon-pepper wings and asked if they gave a military discount. They did. I paid and sat to wait for the order to be filled. Sat for a reasonable amount of time and noticed several to go orders behind the hostess. Sure enough, one was mine and it had been sitting there. Retrieved the order and left after tipping the hostess. The crab wasn't cleaned properly before cooking. All of the clusters still had the gills not completely removed from the edible product. Since the product is sold by weight, I was shortchanged several ounces. I attribute this to the kitchen preparing a to-go order; were this served to a seated customer, they'd send it back. Also, the clusters were not the best in size or quality; clusters were small. Very unlikely they weighed out at one pound. the "competition" surpassed them in both areas. The seasoning was tasty, but I ordered "mild." It lit me up pretty good. So, I determined the Rocking Crab is an adequate, at best choice "if" you wanna eat some crab. I'd recommend them in a pinch, but for quality, taste, service and quantity; the competition is leaps and bounds ahead of them.
