It's a little above quite but not loud when full and there's about 15 total booths and tables to sit at. My wife and have had the following; Mahi sandwich dinner - Backened with lettuce and tomato. Good size portion, the seasoning is just right and the bun is soft,chewy and holds up well without falling apart. I had cheese grits as the side and they're just how I like them with the cheese cooked in not on top. Very good and slightly aldente. Scallop dinner - Fried. Scallops were flavorful and tender. A small group of us decided to go to Shrimp Shack for lunch. Surprise, as we found out it was Tuesday 30 piece shrimp dinner special day. This promotion included 30 (yes, 30) pieces of fried shrimp and two sides for $13.99. I share this part with you for two reasons: 1) it was steady busy and 2) I could not get grilled shrimp (grilling not available on Tuesday with this promotion). So, I ordered the coconut shrimp (my second favorite) with a baked potato and coleslaw. It also comes with a very tasty pina colada like dipping sauce. In our group, two people ordered the 30 piece fried shrimp and one added bam bam sauce (both said it was delicious). Another ordered the white fish sandwich (said it was bland and bread to fish ratio was way off - too much bread). Our food was delivered to us quickly and was steaming hot. Several times during our visit, we were asked if we needed anything and if we did, it was brought to us immediately. Everyone was professionally friendly and eager to make sure we had a good dining experience. The restaurant was very clean and was attended to frequently. I got four pieces of fish, 6 shrimp, the hush puppies, fries and green beans. Clearly everything is cooked to order as it took a bit of a wait for my order. However it was lunch time so that's to be expected. While I was eating, staff were going around ensuring everyone had everything they needed. Tables were cleared and cleaned consistently. The restaurant also appeared very clean. Suffice it to say, this is good value for the money. I brought home three pieces of fish, half the fries, half the green beans, two shrimp and one hush puppy. For $11, I received a flounder sandwich fully dressed, more fries than I could eat, AND a drink. Are you kidding me? I'll bet a Big Mac, large fry and drink is right in the same price range - and that's not even real food. Friendly counter service, food brought to my table - quite expeditiously I may add - and everything was hot and fresh. The flounder spilled over the bun and was perfectly prepared. I opted for fried but they offer grilled and blackened as well. I mean, you are NOT getting those options at any fast food joints. Fries were fresh and have a lightly seasoned coating. We live on this side of town and would always drive past this place. One day, on a whim, we decided to try it! I can't judge on the atmosphere because we went through the drive through. The customer service was good and it took pretty quick to get our food. We got the following items: Coconut shrimp: 8.5/10 - it came out hot, crispy, and juicy. The breading had flakes on coconut on it and it had such a delightful crunch! I don't know what sauce came with it (I'm guessing it's some type of sweet tartar sauce? Maybe pineapple sauce?) but it was so freaking good! We finished the coconut shrimp in like 10 minutes! You can tell the shrimp was super fresh as there was no bad aftertaste at all. Firecracker shrimp platter: 7/10 - It was as pretty decent platter for the price. I think it was like around $13-14?? The best way to describe this shrimp's flavor is like sweet chili mixed in with spicy mayo. The shrimp was fried and coated with this thick, sweet, tangy, and sort of spicy sauce. They didn't skim on the sauce and every shrimp was coated. The flavor was good, but it didn't WOW me. The shrimp was a little on the soggy side, but not the restaurant's fault. We drove 20 minutes to get to home and it was sitting in the to-go container. The platter came with hushpuppies, and two sides. We chose fries and coleslaw. I did not care for the hushpuppies as it had this kind of weird, fishy aftertaste. The hushpuppies reminded me of a bad tasting falafel. Not sure what it was, but it definitely did not leave a good impression on my taste buds. The coleslaw was watered down and all I could taste was watery-mayo. We loved the fries though!!! The fries were crispy, hot, and flavorful! Overall, it's decent for the price. I might not get this again because it is a heavy dish. We do want to come back and try other things on the menu! The menu had changed a bit; and although I was very disappointed the claims were no longer on the menu, what I had was delicious. We ordered the family platter that came with shrimp, chicken, and fish, plus 4 sides. The shrimp were crunchy and tasty, and the fish was light and flaky. My husband and 2 boys enjoyed the chicken, which was moist. The sides we had were green beans (still very good), the fries (fresh), coleslaw (good), and rice pilaf.
