I'm a newbie, but these were knowledgeable people, They had good advice on tools, projects, and wood choice as well a wide selection of woodworking specialty items. They had a good source of good quality wood and sheet goods, including American and Baltic Birch, as well as various hardwoods. the good stuff, unlike the construction grade ugly plywood at the big box stores. Same goes for hard wood boards; no knot filled, bowed, cupped, and twisted greenwood junk like the big box noodles in the dimensional lumber section there. You get what you pay for so the equipment is definitely on the high end quality and cost-wise (Festool for example). Worth a look read more

I needed some items last week to finish a project. Called Rockler to order and get curbside pickup. I was told I should come in and get anything I needed. Everything was clean and safe if I came in. When I got there I went in to get what I needed no one had a mask, one was checking out with no mask. Don't advertise curbside if you don't want to do it. read more

I have been turning pens for a while. It had been a long time since I had done it and I inadvertently connected the pen kit incorrectly. I couldn't remove it with plyers or anything else. I even have a pen disassembler, but it did not work well since I put it in the wrong way. The employees at Rockler helped my out. They also had difficulty initially, but they were finally able to remove the piece AND save the turned acrylic pen. I ended up spending $85 dollars on additional pen supplies. I am so glad they are closer to my home now. read more

I have shopped at the Frisco Rockler Store since the day it opened. I was so excited to have this store close to my home! I am an experienced woodworker and have been so impressed with the manager and his employees in this store. They are helpful and have expertise in multiple areas. If an employee can't answer a question they are honest and will help you find some one who does know the answer. I have purchased multiple tools, accessories, and high end wood products in this store to great success. Every item I have purchased shows quality. In regards to tools and accessories, the engineering of the products is unparalleled. If a product isn't the best, the employees are honest and have told me to look elsewhere. They have even given several options of where to find a better product. This made me a believer in this store and is one of the reasons I return to buy supplies. (Not to mention it's like a family and they call people by their name when you walk into the store.) Can't miss if you need quality equipment or supplies. read more

I needed to get a marking gauge (tool for drawing straight lines on wood). I called this place and asked if they have one and the person I talked to said they have it. I asked if they have more than one kind and they said they have several different kinds. I went there and looked around but couldn't find it. I asked the person working at the front where the marking gauge is and he seemed confused and didn't know where it would be. He looked around and couldn't find it. Then he went to his computer and said all of them are out of stock. Thanks a lot for wasting my time and telling me you have several of them when in fact you had no idea whether you have it or not and clearly didn't bother to look. I ended up going to Woodcraft in Plano and they had 10 different kinds of marking gauges. The people there seemed to actually know what they were doing. read more

Came from out of town (6 hours travel) to purchase a saw stop. I had called to check availability some time before. Maybe it was the fact that I was purchasing expensive equipment but they remembered my name and had everything ready. I came in on Friday and wasn't leaving until Monday and there was no problem holding the purchase so I didn't have to cart it all over Dallas. Jerry was especially helpful in making some additional suggestions. Some I needed and others I didn't but all were things that were useful with the new saw. They also matched a discount advertised at woodcraft, which I didn't know about, on some of my purchase. They got busy a time or two while I was in there and I had to wait some but there are only so many employees. There was no problem with me browsing and no pressure to buy. read more

I really like most Rockler stores, but this location is the exception.... One of the employees/manger (White beard and hair) really needs a lesson in human interactions. Just walked out of there Saturday afternoon w no assistance whatsoever. The one person working there was too busy flirting with a customer to care enough to acknowledge any other customers coming in. I came in for cabinet handles and they have a very small selection. I found one that could have been a possibility for purchase but again, no help or acknowledgement while walking through the store. This store is a mixed bag. Rockler always has cool stuff, but the staff here is hit and miss. Some of the guys are really knowledgeable and friendly, but some others are kinda clueless/new and bordering on anti-social. I've found the staff in the Garland shop to be the best in the area, unfortunately that's a long drive for me. Have had better luck at the Woodcraft in Plano. Well now you don't have to drive that far to get great tools. If you are looking for woodworking tools, or just some friendly advice then you need to stop by and give this place a visit. It next to a lowe's and down the street from a Home Depot, but I don't think any serious wood workers get there tools from these places anyway. read more

Rockler in Frisco was a surprise find! The large hardware stores didn't have what I was looking for, and then I found Rockler on Google. The manager, Robert, spent so much time reviewing my project with me and explaining the technique he recommended. He demonstrated the different finishes and made sure I was confident in the project I was about to undertake. I refinished two tables and they came out beautifully. Came in with Hubby to get a jig. Glad to see that they have the tool. As we are checking out, Jeffery the Employee asked us for our phone number. This is the first time at this store, and I am not interested in signing up for your solicitation list, so we tell him no thanks. Immediately, his attitude changed for the worse. We were told this is the only way we can receive discounts. No thanks, I am not interested in receiving discounts. I am holding the box and reading the description when Jeffrey the Employee snatches the box out of my hand to scan the price. Hubby hands Jeffrey the Employee the card for payment, and with a curt attitude, Jeffrey the Employee points out the chip reader. Makes you wonder if Jeffrey the Employee earns a bonus for each phone number he collects or he simply cannot take no for an answer. read more

First off, bought a bunch of stuff here, mainly because it is closest to me (30 plus miles) and Rockler has the best drawer slides and tools. I'm writing this review about something that irked me. Rocker has a mailing and offer list, which I have been on for a few years, but the individual stores claim to have their own lists of your phone number, name, address, etc. I choose not to get on that list because with four or five stores in my area, I don't need that many people with access to my data. Anyway, I was checking out when the cashier asked if I was retired military. Said yes and showed him my I'D card. He then told me he would hive me a discount but I had to sign up for their store list to get it. I was speechless for a few but then told him to keep his discount. He then said it was his managers policy. Told him still didn't want it and he was real curt through checkout process. I don't go out of the way most times to demand a military discount, I didn't serve for that, but to predicate it on signing my identity away, is wrong. I still buy there, but I haved little use for their integrity. read more
