The bar is awesome! I love playing pool, and they have complimentary pool when you buy drinks. The bartenders are nice and attentive. The good thing is that you get complimentary credits to play poll so basically buying booze gets you to play pool for free. The bartenders are chill and nice, especially Gina. Now this place is really cool but there wasn't a lot of people when we went. We went on a Monday and I guess no one goes to the bar on a Monday LOL My friends and I got a Hennessey and Coke and it was made just right. I love how you are able to play pool for free and the Bar played hip-hop music. I met the owner and he is very welcoming and nice. He made us feel right at home and I love how they have couches and chairs that you can sit to enjoy your drink. I deafly will be coming back on a weekend or knowing that there is a place in that area to hang out. They do close earlier than normal if they don't have a lot of people in the bar. Great local bar. Its a bit of an odd place--the interior is designed as an upscale lounge but it's a pretty down-home neighborhood bar. It's a real born-n-raised SF spot with lots of 9ers/warriors/giants fans. I'm not in that crew, but sometimes it feels that way since I've been here since '05. Now, I'm a scumbag tech worker! I always meet really interesting people here while I should be going home to my wife and kid. I made friends with a face-tattoo guy, a guy that scoops ice cream at Mitchells, and occasionally invite some hoity-toity tech worker friends. I've gotten turned down for a drink here when I was too drunk. Thanks! Honestly! It's a huge step up from the Cotter's Corner, the cigarette-smoking-allowed-old-man bar that somehow survived well into 2013. They did have a great bong smoking porch in the back in those days, but happy to see the bar change hands for something more modern. My only complaint is the garnishes. If I order a 10-15$ martini or manhattan I would really like a big olive or a luxardo cherry. But I guess that's the asshole gentrifier in me. read more

Was just there this Saturday 12/16/23 and the bartenders literally robbed us from our money. We bought multiple drinks and also tipped them on top of how much the drinks cost (their service was terrible by the way and dthey had the worst attitude). We ignored the negativity because we were there to have a good time but on Monday when a couple of us saw our accounts we noticed that the amount was different (I don't know if they thought we were drunk and wouldn't realize) luckily we have receipts, unfortunately they were adjusting the tip and tipping themselves a higher amount. My partner came down with me for my very quick work trip( I was literally only here for a day) and we were looking for a place to watch the Texas Tech vs Virginia State game on Monday. Gone are the days of Cotter's Corner, a dark, creepy looking bar with no more than five patrons. The new manager did a fantastic job upgrading the bar inside out - the interior is nicely updated with several beers on tap and ample TVs for your sporting needs. I frequent this place almost once a week, just to support the local neighborhood, and I've never been disappointed. So far, my bartenders has been the manager and Johnny, both are cool dudes, super chill and friendly. I can count on Johnny to whip me up a bomb ass martini! Although they don't serve food here, they encourage you to grab food from the local eatery and have some drinks here. After my trip to Florida, then New Orleans, then Napa, on my first Friday night back in San Francisco, and my date and I mutually bailing on each other, I wanted something local. As I went to pick up Sushi Raw, I noticed a sign I had never seen before: Rocks Den. The hell did this nice new sign come from? I take a peak in and notice a bar. A new bar! I grabbed my to go order, and as I walked past I said "It's Friday, and this is a new bar. Let's do it!" The bar itself is pretty long, with a few tables against the opposite wall, and plenty of space in between if this place starts hopping. There is also a pool table, and a back room with a huge TV, but there are plenty of tvs, which is why I guess this classifies as a sports bar. The staff was really nice, explaining that they were celebrating their 9th week open. Their tap list isn't that huge, and their beer bottle list only adds a few, but they had plenty of liquor. With the environment, this definitely stands out from Pissed Off Petes and the other dive bars in the area. And I told them straight up this would become a weekly stop. I didn't see a drink menu, but got a standard whiskey and coke that wasn't watered down. It was on the house as it was my first time as a local and left a $10 tip. I could see this becoming a 5 star if I become a regular. I just like that I have Glen Park Station and now Rocks Den depending on which side of 280 I find myself. read more

However if you're in the bar and restaurant industry you should mentally prepare for late night customers. In my experience as a bar patron last call is typically 1:30. I do apologize if I come I. At 12:45 or 1 am. But in general I do think I am allowed 45 to 30. Minutes to enjoy the drink I spent hard earned money on. Tonight that was not that case. The security called my friend out by name which does lead me to believe there may have been a past incident however if the security is not honest and lets my friend or people in general that they fucked in what I am to think about my friend other than he is a good upstanding bar drinker. If he was not let him know and let me as his friend know. I felt rushed out in a general gang and prison mentality I did not feel welcomed And I would not recommend and HIGHLY discourage people from going there if your I tention is to have a fun night. The security guard looked as if he wanted to instigate a fight so if you if you want to go world star all the more power to you but if this is the place to relax and have a drink there are better bars close by read more

I had the most fun here watching the Finals 2017. Lit lit lit! Put your Warriors swag on and grab a drink (or a pitcher) for your crew. The staff knew how to entertain the patrons and even played music to hype everyone up for the next game! The bar is also on a side of mission where food is somewhat close, yet far away. Parking can be difficult but uber or the 14 can help solve your issues.. Liquor stores are also steps away if it gets crowded inside the bar. Went here for the first time on a Wednesday a couple of weeks ago to meet an acquaintance for their Happy Hour. I was promptly greeted by Billie Jean the bartender. She made friendly chit chat, made my drink, and periodically checked to see if I needed anything. Definitely one of the nicer and very attentive bartenders I have met. Her replacement (did not get his name) was also pleasant and just as good as well. The bar itself was clean along with the furniture. The back of the bar had a nice billiard table, and a lounge area (couch, chair, TV and fire place). I did not make use of those areas since I was busy chatting away at the bar itself. However I did see the other patrons playing billiards and watching the Warriors game on the couch. Their restrooms are in decent condition. Definitely a positive given that bars usually have dirty restrooms. Their drinks were made fine, but I will say I order simple cocktails or beer. I did order a gin martini and it was on the same level as other great martinis I have had. Overall a great experience and I look forward to hanging out here again. Makes me wish I had a local bar like this close by home. Keep up the good work! read more
