I called at 11:47am to request an appointment for eyebrow and lip waxing. They told me I could come in at 12:30pm. I arrived early at 12:04 and checked in and waited for my appointment. The salon looked clean and they were very busy. I was brought back for my appointment by Lisa, who seemed very pleasant and professional. Lisa had a very gentle touch and it was appreciated, however, they use popsicle sticks to apply their wax. I could feel globs of wax on my face for 2 very small areas, lip and eyebrow. She also didn't allow the wax to sit or press on the strips to adhere to the areas and had to go over these areas multiple times. Sometimes those hairs are tricky, I understand but between the usage of a wide popsicle stick as opposed to to the finer application tools used for these smaller areas and the excessive globs on my face, it felt a bit unprofessional. Also, there was no cooling gets utilized either, if that matters to anyone--but I feel like they do make a difference. Lisa was professional in every other way and I appreciate her and the salon getting me in, but I will most likely not be back simply due to their technique and tools used (wide popsicle sticks for every area). I never leave a review for a nail salon until I've been there for more than a couple visits. It takes time to see the true integrity and quality of a service based business. I've been coming here every 2-3weeks since Dec 2024 and there are a few things I've learned. This is not the place for specific nail art or designs. My nail tech Hana constantly needed help from other nail techs to finish my requests and even the more seasoned techs were not good. On Feb 9 I came in for Valentine's Day nails and it took 40 minutes for them to get hearts looking like hearts. Before I knew it, there was a group of 3 other techs hovering over her station. They were all speaking Vietnamese and I had a feeling they were trash talking. I opened a voice note and later uploaded to a translation app, turns out I was right. This should have been enough to not go back but since I needed birthday nails on the 22nd I came back. SMH On the 22nd I did a basic design but the red polish must've been expired because the next day it was scuffed and chipping. I called them immediately and they assured me I could come in for a free fix. I came in and thought that Hana understood this was a free fix due to poor quality of the polish used. So imagine my surprise when I go to leave and they say I owe $31, mind you I had already paid $105 a few days prior. To me this spoke volumes, it was very clear that $31 was more important than a returning customer. They had a choice to do the right thing and they didn't. That sums up what the company stands for. If I could give no stars I would. I was given a gift certificate for my birthday and gave it to my 19 year old daughter. My daughter went to get her nails done and asked for acrylics and they started to do gel on her nails and she told them that is not what she wanted. The told her that it's too late that she has to get the gels. They did such a horrible job and my daughter was in tears. Called ahead to see if they would be able to get me in a chair for a pedicure only then later changed my mind to also getting a gel manicure because I loved the tech doing my pedicure. Everyone was very nice and welcoming and is diverse with their technicians. It was also clean as well with 2 TV's to stare at when you get tired of staring at your phone lol the chairs are so damn comfortable and fit and massage me perfectly. Other salon chairs are too big and I have to struggle to get the massage correctly on my back. Fun size people problems. Ben was the young man that did both my mani and pedi and well now I can say I've found my new go to spot and my new go to tech. I've been coming to rockstar nails for over two years now, today I'm sure I'm no longer a customer. The lady in desk 2 (unknown name) took my walk in today. I needed acrylic removal, and just gel mani with simple base color only with short square nails. I've expressed I wanted to keep my natural nails too. She begins by filing down and doing a soak off. After about one or two efiles she gets up to grab two thumb size plastic tip nails. She begins to start wedging the acrylic from my nails with the plastic tip. After another soak and file she did it again and peeled really hard on my right ring finger. I knew it hurt but I brushed it off as she was talking to me at the same time making small talk. She did it again with middle finger and it took off my natural tips which I wanted to initially keep. I notice I started to bleed a lot on my ring finger. She just keep saying I had mold or something. I know my nails were not moldy for a fact! I couldn't really understand her. With acrylics she should know that nails tend to be thinner I don't know why she kept insisting to rip off the rest. She wanted to continue to rip my index acrylic off too I told her to stop and just efile them down because I know she'll do it again. She over filed and that's why in the picture my index finger is also ripped. She put something on my ring finger and kept cleaning the blood and told me to put it in the acetone! I said no because 100% it will burn! She proceeds to do the rest of the fingers and my left hand with soak and filing only. More than a couple times she would accidentally e file my skin because she would try to make small talk with me without looking at my fingers. I get up to go wash my hands and went to go pay for the soak off. I just wanted to stop everything. I was so uncomfortable and upset. I voiced I was uncomfortable and didn't want to get any infections because i already had an open cut she made. I didn't want to also infect the tools she had too. It was just too many red flags. I paid the 25$ for soak off and left. She went to go tell the front desk girl something I couldn't understand. But I heard the word mold. Again, my nails had no discoloration or mold whatsoever. Some of my fingers still had remains of product she was unable to get off. But I still paid, I don't think I should've though, I just wanted to get out of there. I feel that management should conduct a conversation with the nail tech because service provided was not up to code of conduct. Today is only day one, if the nail does not heal and ends up with an infection I will absolutely follow up with a small courts claim. read more

I had the best pedicure I've had in my life and i wasn't expecting much as it was my first time at this nail salon. I brought my sister and she loved her pedicure too. Prices are on the pricier side but the quality of products they use for the lotion and scrub seem good quality. My nail tech Lilly was out of this world with her strong massage skills and attention to detail when it comes to painting my toe nails. Even though there are a lot of nail salons closer to my home, I will definitely go out of my way to come here. The salon is clean, welcoming and bright. Found this place as a random spot near my house next to Subways and Einstein bagels. I walked in with my five year old daughter asked the price for a child they asked her age and told me $15 mani and $25 Pedi. Ok. I usually get a gel mani pedi for myself but I wanted to try different so I said I will do a full set with tips. The lady did a good job on my 5 yr old (wasn't much to do). My pedi was lacking not what I am used to, they really didn't have any bubble in the water, thin soaking wet towels for hot towels that they did not wrap around my legs. Whatever. The problem came in with the person they sent me to do my nails. I explained to her that I was trying something different and I brought her a picture of what I wanted. The color of the nails was a green color. The tech said " So you want green like Christmas?" I said No I do not want a green Christmas color. I said forget it because she seemed like she didn't know what else to choose ( i should have asked for someone else then). So I said ok then maybe like a burgundy red brown color, she brought a deep red color that didn't match. It was something about the colors that she was trying when I realized it was the base color she chose for the French mani. It wasn't neutral like the picture it was stark pink. this was throwing off all the colors. UGH! At this point I was so far away from what I asked for I tried to choose a different style that could match this pink brown mess that was on my hands. It was like an ombre style brown. It was ugly then she tried to put some squiggles around it that looked like grandmas nails from 1999. I was over it. Unfortunately this brought attention to the other techs because she was saying she didn't know what I wanted. They were asking me why I didn't tell her or bring a picture of what I wanted lol (really). At this point she said something and asked someone else to help me. It was closing time I didn't want to have alot of attention but at this point this is a waste of my time and money and nothing can fix this ugly pink and brown mess on my hands. So another girl came over and was like lets add a red tip as the French and leave the other brown pink. It was ugly for real and not what I wanted. Long story short she asked me if I wanted to cover the whole thing up, with another color I told her yes because they were closing in 15 minutes again I asked her for a red brown or brick color, She brought back holiday red (wth) I was like whatever I'm done. I left with what looks like some blood red clip ons. I asked her about changing it and coming back since this is not what I was supposed to get she said if I come back tomorrow I can pay $31 to change the color omg what? where is the accountability for meeting the customer needs? This was unbelievable. I thought they would work with me to be sure that I got what I wanted and asked for. Not interested. At this point I felt like they were not really listening to what I was telling them because they kept saying you should have brought a picture even though I told them and showed it to the lady and to them. One of the girls stated that the problem was my picture was a nude French and what the lady put on my hands was a stark pink, so it made the colors off. So as I am getting ready to go they are acting like I planned to be disgruntled because they were acting like I was not going to pay or skip out. Lol. This was the weirdest experience I have had at a nail salon. Like me and my daughter are going to walk out. OMG. Horrible. To add insult to injury they charged me a different price at the register the gave me a total of $184. I asked for a break down they said $52 for my daughter which is different from the $40 they quoted my pedi and nails were up charged as well. I knew the bill was off but I was just trying to get out of there and they were acting so weird. I asked for my receipt and will call to tell them in the morning about the price. They never tried to understand or remedy the problem of what service I was to get, they did not care if I was a returning customer or not they were like bye come back tomorrow and you can pay more for us to fix our mistake. I do not recommend this place. I like more high end quality nail spots where the techs are talented and knows what colors go with styles. The lady who did my nails was not very talented, even the tips were so thin the other girl had to fix them. UGH. There was a girl that was next to me who did someone's nails and they were beautiful. I guess you have to know who to go to. But the way they handled this was unprofessional, not customer friendly, and they changed the price on me on the way out. Horrible. Go somewhere else. I hope they honor the price they initially told me when I call in the morning. I will update this review. Just saw the review below that talked about the techs not being very skilled.
