I like this ice cream/chocolate company. My grandkids got ice cream, I got a caramel apple with peanuts. And some milk chocolate caramel candies. All delicious. I visit every time I go to MD. Its a bit pricey but worth the money. Everyone enjoyed their treats. The staff is well trained and extremely polite and courteous. Definitely good management. read more

Came here on 7/5/24. There was a note on the door that they stepped out but would be back in 30 minutes. Fine, I wandered around waiting. Came back to the door still locked but observed a staff member restocking the truffles with her bare hands. That was my sign to leave but I didn't. She finally opens the door and begins barking at us all that we need to make up our minds and if we're not ready immediately, she's moving on to the next person. I'm only giving three stars because this is my first bad experience in years. I bought a s'more's apple and it tastes like DIRT. I can't tell if it's just the apple not being washed or if there's maybe mold somewhere on it but a few bites I took I literally had to spit out. It felt like I bit into the earth. It's not the biggest deal on the planet, but it definitely made the entire apple taste disgusting. I really hope they wash their apples before covering them.. Good Lawd walking into this little shop of confectionary delight the rich smell of chocolate goodness that wafted into my nose made me want to inhale every piece of candy in here. Dark chocolate raspberry truffles, chocolate dipped graham crackers, and so many kinds of candy apples here. Yes, we made a purchase to bring home after our Yelp Winter Staycation weekend and I had to stop myself from going overboard and frying my credit card with goodies. It's a small shop with plenty of good stuff going on behind the glass cases. Dark chocolate, white chocolate, milk chocolate, you name it! Nice people working here too. Have been here in the summer and had a great experience. Went today craving a cheesecake caramel apple. The apple was sour and not fully cut. The rich smell of this place alone will make you gain weight, but it's worth it. I spent $13 on four chocolate covered strawberries, a single chocolate truffle and a milk chocolate bar. I can't not pass a Rocky Mountain chocolate factory without ordering a sliced candy apple. To me, the treats are irresistible, and sort of healthy? About 10 years ago I had sensitivity to apples, but at my own risk I tried these candy apples and didn't have any irritation. Now, I can eat any apples no problem. So, would I go as far as saying that these candy apples are healing? Sure, why not? They also have many other delicious treats, just step inside and take a look (and a whiff). I have seen other locations but this location at Long Branch is my favorite because it is the perfect way to end the day at the beach. There are some really souped up candy apples with 1 million toppings, but I find that it is overkill and I like the simpler toppings. And they will slice for you! read more

I have purchased from Rocky Mountain in many locations and never been disappointed....until now. I specifically asked if the caramel apple was fresh and told it was NO WAY! I took it home and the pecans tasted rancid and the apple was not fresh. My friend purchased one also and when she cut into it, there was mold near the stick. Unfortunately we don't live near this store so we couldn't return them. We emailed the corporate office and have heard nothing after a week. Maybe this is an issue of this store being in a tourist location and it is off season, so there is little turn over. But no matter what the reason, this was a horrible experience. Okay - 5 stars for their actual chocolate. AMAZEBALLS. The star off is more about the service. We came in on a Saturday night (after dinner) to bring a box of chocolates to a friends house. The place only had 1 other customer, which was nice that we didn't have to feel rushed. I had told the woman helping us that we only wanted to get a 0.5-0.75lbs pound of assorted chocolates. We asked for assistance picking them out because we weren't sure how many that would be, and she told us "it's a big box, just start picking things out." We made our way through the case and I asked her where we were in terms of the box, and she said "there's a lot more room still." It was only after I asked her to weigh it for us, that we found out it was already a full pound. We ended up just keeping it -rather than putting chocolate back, but I was put-off that there was no guidance in that respect, especially since specifically specified our target weight. Not an egregious mistake, but as the chocolate is pay-by-weight ($22.95/lb) this seems slightly dishonest, in my opinion. But the chocolate was fantastic. We ended up trying most of the chocolates we brought - hands down amazingly made chocolate. The Dark Chocolate Covered Caramel Sea-Salt was ABSOLUTELY DIVINE. Highly recommend. read more

This shop is small but not too small to cram in all the delicious, HOMEMADE, chocolaty goodies you could possibly want! They have everything from cayenne chocolate truffles to decadent, gourmet caramel & chocolate covered apples. I am especially crazy for this joint because they make a confection that is extremely similar to my favorite European candy bar, (Crunchie, I loves you.) a honeycomb sugar center draped in creamy, decadent milk chocolate. The store is small and clean, and the staff super friendly and eager to help you decide on your perfect confection. We decided on some candied apples which were simply divine - and healthy because its fruit, right?! There had to be at least 15 of them to choose from - some stand outs being the s'mores, reese's, apple pie, cheesecake, and toffee crunch! They've got everything you could want when it comes to chocolate delicacies and they're all equally tasty. Another big plus is that its only a few steps from the beach and while you may come in for a quick burst of AC, the smell will entice you to spend a lot of money. It's a small store which makes it cramped at times, but overall it's worth squeezing in. The only drawback is that its a bit pricey, but otherwise there is nothing to complain about. read more

The workers in this establishment are incredibly rude to customers. I was in disbelief when one employee told two children that they had to be quiet in the store when they were visibly excited to be purchasing their candy. Then another employee proceeded to get an attitude when, as I made my way up to the counter, was still surveying their products. It was quite unsettling the way I was treated as a paying customer. This is the best chocolate place around! They have so many different types of chocolates and candies that it's overwhelming! I have been going here since I was little, and I continue to keep coming! Their chocolate dipped marshmallows on a stick were a childhood favorite, and now I usually get a caramel apple, because they are soo good! I have recently tried their chocolate covered frozen cheesecake, which is one of the best yet underrated things they have. The only reason why I am giving this small shop one star is because we experienced horrible, disrespectful service by two teenage staff members on 6/30/15. Management is in need of re-training their staff to be more courteous to their customers since we are the one giving them business. We weren't even given time to choose from the assortments of chocolate they provided. The rude girl behind the counter rushed us with our order and was too concerned about fingerprints on the glass. One of my family members decided to wait outside and as soon as he exited the store, the same snooty girl, proceeded to scold him to close the door. (He wasn't even half way out the door). Meanwhile, another family member was paying for her items, and a staff member started to shut the lights while the other staff member commented, "you can't do that, you still have a customer." Obviously, it did not matter to the rude staff member as she began laughing. Therefore, my family member made a comment that the staff member was being rude and unprofessional. The minute she walked out, another staff member came running out and yelled, "yeah keep talking sh**" and proceeded to lock the doors. It was obvious that they were focused on wanting to leave rather then providing service/business for the store and their customers. Such unacceptable behavior! Back in the days, they would have been fired for such rudeness. What ever happened to providing good customer service and the customer is always right policy? For this unfortunate event, I will never return to the Long Branch location. On the plus side, the chocolate covered apples were delicious. read more
