First, it is adorable tucked in woodlands just outside of town near a bubbling brook. The interior is spacious with the bakery, coffee shop, and store featuring spices and other local goodies. It is clean and has bathrooms. Second, the coffee is high quality and delicious! We tried a variety of different mistos, drip coffee, and cold brew...they were all great! And reasonably priced! Third, the bakery is incredible. We got a whole bunch of baked goods at the start of the trip and enjoyed them over the next few days. Some highlights included the bacon and egg pastry, the strawberry rhubarb fruit pastry, and the cinnamon twist. We also loved the blueberry fruit pastry, the egg and cheese pastry, the kouign amann , and the chocolate croissant. Finally, the staff were friendly and helpful. Always a great perk when the service is just as high quality as the product! The only con is that The Spice Rack is closed Monday and Tuesday, so be sure to stop by Wednesday through Sunday! You won't be disappointed!

I decided on the Tom yum soup with a mild spice level while J opted for the Pad Kee Mao with a high spice level. The soup was delicious and warm - helpful as I was getting over a cold and I found the spice level very manageable. The mushroom and shrimp were well cooked, plentiful and delicious. I had a good chunk of the pad kee mao as well - I loved the spice level here too. Just the right level to get your eyes watering but not out of control. The savory sauce was amazing and the noodles and chicken were very well cooked. We were one of a couple tables as we entered, but a few more joined while we were there. The sitting area is spacious and I could tell it might get busy later in the evening. All the staff were very helpful, prompt, and kind. Definitely give this place a try on your next visit to Estes Park!

Taste profile, I will have to say, I have never had a pad thai with strong soy sauce profiles before. It was pretty overpowering. While I will say that it was not disgusting since I am from an Asian background so that is generally in our cuisine, it was not what I was expecting from my many thai experiences. Other downsides may be the limited parking, but generally for a thai place I would leave it around an average point since nothing was bad in particular.

I tried to explain to Julian what I was looking for and I did not want to hunt through 1000's of bags to find it. I purchased a bag to bring back to my pet-sitter and snuck a few pieces of my own. Yup, I went back the next day and purchased another bag for myself, it's that good! My favorites? Texas Pecan, fer sure and Salted Caramel, followed by the vanilla and then chocolate. Now I know an easy birthday gift to send to my favorite people! They've received a lot of recognition and awards and been in business for almost 100 years! The store is pretty small, so if there's a crowd, it's going to feel super crowded. We got a box of assorted taffy of our choosing. We selected grape, cherry, strawberry, salted caramel, and banana. That was only a small sample of what they offered. They all taste pretty good except for the cherry. It reminds me too much of cherry-flavored cough drops, so I wouldn't get that again. The banana was surprisingly good, with the salted caramel probably being my favorite of the ones we tried. The employees were very friendly and helpful, too.

Large coffee menu, plus sandwiches, toasts, and snacks made fresh to order. Seasonal coffees -- tried a campfire-type and a coconut-type. Both fine. Not bad, not the best I've had, and not something I'd rush back for. Breakfast sandwich on a croissant -- my biggest gripe. Utterly dry and almost tasteless. The sausage, egg, and cheese were gas-station ready-to-go territory. Their bread comes in fresh-baked, but they ran the croissant through the toaster and torched it, which only made it drier. A breakfast sandwich should be juicy, cheesy, buttery -- this one needed a sauce just to get it down. Sandwich on sourdough -- a little better, but still just okay. Fine place if you're already in the area, and the coffee's fine, but I wouldn't go out of my way for it. Would recommend, would not return.

If you're lucky, snag a stool right along the Big Thompson River! Though, I recommend they fix the wooden placeholders for beers, they're leaning on the wrong side of history, we don't want any full glasses of beer reaching an unnecessary demise! Interference IPA * American IPA * 6.7% * 16oz ($7) From their website: "Climbing the Interference Boulder in Rocky Mountain National Park requires strength and power. This Colorado IPA showcases the power of hops with an intense blend forging citrus aromas with a pine forward finish. Featured ingredients: Cascade, El Dorado, Mosaic, Chinook, & Simcoe hops * Recommended adventure: hiking Black Lake, climbing the Twin Owls, skiing upper Hidden Valley." A perfectly apt description. I would summarize this beer just as they did, focusing on hops, citrus, and pine. Absolutely delicious, a memorable IPA in recent memory. We also heard a new deck area is coming soon, plus plans for a paella night--which honestly sounds amazing and gives us even more reason to come back. If you haven't been to Snowy Peaks recently, it's absolutely worth another visit. They're doing great things and it's becoming a must-stop spot in Estes Park.

My teenage granddaughter and I had a fabulous time at SereniTea in Estes Park on Saturday. Good tea places are getting harder and harder to find, and this one did not disappoint. Several different types of tea to choose from, lovely sandwiches and sweets. The atmosphere was relaxed and our server, Nancy, was so lovely and attentive. A must to for all tea lovers! read more
