However, once you find this place, you'll find the outside is nice and quaint, like going to Grandma's house for breakfast. The interior is small but nice, and decorated all over with little nicknacks. Everything is clean, including the bathroom. The people inside are all small town nice chatty folk, customers and staff alike. Don't let the older waitress scare ya, she looks mean, but she's actually very nice. The food: It doesn't seem like a lot at first, but what you get is actually plenty of food for the price. We filled up with just a basic plate of omelet and pancakes and some coffee. I will say that the pancakes are pretty dense, they could definitely use some fluffing, but everything has good flavor, including the coffee! I would definitely go back if I were back in the area for another hike.

You truly feel like you've walked into a friendly neighbor's home and they've decided to cook for you....next to a fire...at their dining table. It's so cozy. I've just had breakfast here so far. It's fresh and home cooked tasting. My sister and other family members rave about the huevos rancheros. We also always rave about their coffee...they add a touch of cinnamon to it. It's so good and just something different to enjoy. Our service this time could have been a bit better...perhaps our server was new, as my sister said she doesn't typically have that experience. If you find yourself coming through or near Allenspark, don't miss this true one of a kind experience.

I can see why many people like this place. Hell, I dig the space and the concept. Just the…read moreexecution of the pizza wasn't up to par. Right outside Rocky Mountain National Park, and directly across from their main outpost, Bird & Jim. This place serves it all: coffee, smoothies, breakfast, baked goods, pizza, salads, soups, wraps, etc. Each menu varies depending on the time of day obviously. The space itself is gorgeous, and not something you'd expect in a mountain town. The high ceilings and massive windows allow you to soak up any mountain and sunset views. They have a nice little patio outside and yes, you'll probably see elk grazing across the street! The pizza left more to be desired. I ordered a simple margherita ($18) and an Odell beer. I would've prefered the pizza to be cooked for another minute in the oven personally, but that's not a knock on them. It desperately needed salt. In the dough and on the tomatoes. The tomatoes slid right off every time I tried to take a bite. It was just severely under-seasoned and really didn't have any flavor at all. I would actually come back here because I do like restaurant concepts like these that offer different experiences throughout the day. A great place to hang out and recharge. I will stick with breakfast and coffee next time!

Stopped by on the way back from Rocky Mountain National Park and it is a must visit!…read more So far, all the lattes I've tried (honey bear, cherry blossom, cherry cordial) have been great. I'm usually picky about any cherry flavored bc a lot of cherry flavored products tastes too artificial. But here it's an exception! Pork Green Chili Pocket $7.5 was also delicious. Not spicy. The pork inside is chunck but tender and has a great bite to it. I would get it again. I'm planning to try their pot pies next visit! They have it available hot and ready for frozen bake at home.

We picked up a bottle of cherry wine, some cherry popcorn, and cherry honey as gifts for a family member who loves anything cherry. It was really neat to see just how many different cherry products they offer--you can tell they've gotten creative with it! The shop itself is cute, well-stocked, and opens early, which made it an easy stop during our day. They also have pet-friendly outdoor seating, which is always a bonus for us. I had a question about one of the wines, and while the younger employee helping me wasn't sure of the answer, he immediately went to ask someone else who was able to help. I always appreciate when staff take the time to find the right information instead of guessing. Plenty of parking as well! Overall, it's a charming local shop with unique products and friendly service. We'll definitely stop back next time--hopefully for a slice of cherry pie!
