She even gave me an earlier time after switching her schedule around. It was recommended to bring a cooler for the cake, which I did because it was a long drive for us. My niece was able to enjoy her birthday with this perfect cake. You taste the natural sweetness (but no sugar crash) from the fruits, dates, and other ingredients of the cake. I had this place on my list as having amazing Raw desserts so I decided to stop in on my way by yesterday. I love that everything is V and GF, although def not all raw. For me, this place is a no go, prices were high and what I ordered was pretty dry. Here is what I ordered along with my thoughts on it: Vanilla cupcakes, just ok. Was not a fan of the frosting. PB cookie, my least fav. Very try and having a nibble here and there but do not love it. Carrot cake, also very dry. Had a few bites and going to try again with some tea. PB n J bar, this was my fav. It had that same dry pb mixture on the bottom, but it was helped by the yummy toppings. Protein bar, the flavor was decent but also very dry. Vegan desserts are my thing because I don't like over sweet desserts (raw or not). These desserts here are just the perfect in sweetness. They are also organic, gluten free, soy free, vegan, no processed sugar, and decadent. It is located in an industrial complex so don't expect that the store front is like a regular bakery. This is the place where the Chef produces awesome delicious raw chocolates Mothers Markets sells. However, the cakes are available in store only. I recommend bringing a small cooler when you purchase items, especially, during the hot summer. Or if you cannot wait you can eat them in the car before leaving premise. Arlena actually hand-delivered the cake to me since I live close (much appreciated), and she even included a cute Happy Birthday topper! Since she doesn't use refined sugar, she can't write anything on the cake, but it was so beautifully topped with berries. It honestly looked stunning, and although the six-inch cake may seem small, that thing is definitely dense! And it's also not pricey at all if you consider all the organic goodness that goes inside it. I was blown away by the taste and texture of the cake! It was so creamy and delectable but not sickeningly sweet. I was also just so impressed with the cheesecake-like flavor. It was light and sweet but not too sweet. It was refreshingly cool and smooth with the bottom, nutty layer offering a hearty crunch in contrast to the silky top. Wow, I tried Raw Baby's hazelnut caramel chocolates, cookies and "Nut"ella Cake and fell in love. I have a sweet tooth, but am also quite health-conscious and have a fascination with raw vegan desserts. There truly is beauty in consuming desserts that are made with whole foods with high nutrition rather than ones with refined and processed ingredients. I feel very satisfied after having a piece of chocolate and a slice of the cake. My parents (in their mid-60's) also enjoyed the desserts. They are so delicious, creamy, satisfying, and sweet (but not the icky kind of sweet). There's also a bit of a crunch thanks to the nutty base, so you have 2+ textures to enjoy. I don't feel any sugar hangover like I do at times with other decadent desserts. Also, we had some of the oatmeal raisin and chocolate chip oatmeal cookies and they were delicious. The perfect balance of chewiness, sweetness, and a hint of salt. This place is cute! So when I arrived to the location I was confused because it brought me to a place called "Gisselles"..... come to find out that they are initially the same.....just an FYI! I really liked the man that helped me.... He was super friendly and knowledgeable about what was raw vegan vs just vegan. The only thing I don't like is how it's a little on the pricer end, but it is definitely worth it since they use healthier ingredients. The quality of ingredients is reflected in the price, but Extremely worth it! I purchased the tiramisu, raspberry almond ups, and peanut butter cups. These were so delicious as satisfying. I shared a peanut butter up with my sweets hating brother and he loved it, mainly because it didn't taste fake like corn syrup or other garbage ingredients this was all real food, maple syrup sweetened and not processed. I ordered a 6" Raw Berry Bliss for my birthday and I was honestly sad when it was gone. My kids DEVOURED it. We all did.
