I had been hearing noises in the attic, walls and basement for a while. I finally decided to do something about it. I did some research on-line to see what my options were. I didn't just want to lay traps over and over again. I have an older home and it is full of ways mice and rats could make it inside. I came across Rodents Stop. So many 5-star reviews both on Angie's List and Yelp. The reviews stated that it would not be cheap but the number of people happy with there service was incredible. I called them and Joey came out to give me an estimate a day later. When he walked in to my home he said he could smell rodents. I was skeptical but he really knew his trade. After he calculated the square footage of the main floor, basement and attic he provided me a quote. The quote included a team to seal any entry point going into my home as well as follow-up visits. The service also includes a lifetime warranty...even if I sell my home. I also decided to have them insulate the attic since I did not have any to begin with. The team came at 7am and spent the day removing nests, disinfecting the attic and basement and blocking holes with screening, wood and wallboard. Took the entire day. These guys worked hard. After they were done they lay traps to catch any remaining rodents inside and told me it might be noisy for a few days. Wow they were not kidding. The traps went off all night. They came the next day to clean them and re-set them. After that they came once per week to check the traps in the basement, attic and main floor to make sure no rodents were found. Clean traps meant they found and blocked all the entry points into the structure. After 4 weeks of clean traps they came and installed the insulation. Really happy with Rodents Stop. Good communicators. They mostly used email and text to set appointments and let me know when a workers was going to show. The workers always called 30 minutes before they arrived. So I'm writing a review for Rodents Stop after 2-years of their coming to our home and helping with our rodent situation. 2 years ago we had a rodent situation. The rodents had infested our attic and there was definitely one that was stuck in the wall somewhere near out kitchen- it sounds like there were 100s but in actually we'll probably talking about less than 10- but even 1 or 2 can seem a lot when you have to live in a house knowing you have rodents. The rodents would run around in the middle of the night which meant my husband, who was obsessed with getting rid of them was not getting any sleep. After trying many many times by different methods we had read about to get rid of them on our own we decided we needed professional help. Our first experience with the first rodent company we went with was pretty terrible. They charged us a great deal of money only to realize we still had a rodent problem. The second company, Rodent Stop, was nothing less than amazing. They came inspected the entire perimeter of the house, the attic, the crawlspace underneath the house. They sealed all holes (and there were many small openings since we live in a house built in the 1920s). They set up traps in the attic and came about 7-10 days (3x) to clear the traps and dispose the rats. This was all 2-years ago, and we have not had a rodent problem since. Also, the fact they have a life-time guarantee (life of the home) is pretty amazing. If you've ever had a rodent problem you understand what peace of mind the life-time guarantee gives you. If you only have a single rodent in your home this probably isn't the best company to go with, I think because they offer the life-time guarantee they have to treat the entirety of the home. Rodents Stop is a top-notch company. We fought rats for months, and finally called Rodents Stop. They spent hours sealing the entry points (vents, little holes, chimney, etc.) and clearing contaminated insulation and other items. Our house was not easy, and it wasn't cheap, because we had a lot of stuff from many moves in and out of the house. Each time we cleared an area, RS came and sanitized the area - they probably came to do that 6 or 8 times. Honestly this is by far the Worst service experience we had with this company Rodents Stop, Avoid at all costs !!! My husband called this company to have them come and clean up our small attic in our 1,100sf house, and to replace the old insulation with a new one.  This company not only over charged us $11,000 it also took them half a day to finish the work, with 2 guys only working in the attic, we also later find out from two other companies that this job shouldn't cost more then $3.800 this is a Terrible buisness practice when you cheat your own customers. Rodent Stop has eliminated my problem, cleaned everything out, re-ducted and insulated my attic and gave me the forms I need for a rebate. This is an update. I don't know why things have changed but...whereas I used to be really satisfied with this service, I can no longer get them to work according to the lifetime guarantee agreement! If you get Israel you are very lucky! He is excellent with his skills and customer service. Unfortunately, I can't say the same for the other technicians who have been sent out to my house. They come in and stand around while talking on their phone. When I call to request Israel the company acts as if I'm causing a problem, and tells me how great the other technicians are. I think my house is officially THE HARDEST HOUSE TO RAT-PROOF on the planet. It's a raised hillside home and it's all kinds of weird. Add to that that I refuse to kill the little cuties*, and I am a non-traditional client left and right. Yet- Rodents Stop refused to give up on me and they got my house to be perfectly rat-proofed in one treatment and two follow-ups. My garage (really a glorified hillside carport that we've enclosed) is a whole other beast but they're still on top of it and they are determined to get me to 100% rat-free. And lead rat-proofer Israel and his team are kind, prompt, thorough and effective! I recommend them to everyone because EXCLUSION IS THE ONLY ANSWER to a rat problem. Rats exist. They reproduce fast. And I'm super thankful I found the right folks for the job. * I live-trap the rats instead of killing them (I consider killing them inhumane no matter how you do it, with all measures causing pain, fear, separation from their loved ones, and suffering). I then release the rats back into my own yard because 1) if you release them into unfamiliar territory it's certain-death anyway and 2) if the exclusion measures are working, then letting them back into the yard shouldn't allow them to get back into the house anyway. I used to mark their tails with nail polish before releasing them just to prove that they weren't getting back in. The one time I did catch the same rat twice, Rodents Stop came out within two days and found where that rat got back in and sealed it off. It takes extra patience to live-trap and release, but then it becomes amazing, honestly, to see each of their personalities and know you're claiming your space in a spirit of peace and harmony with the rats who also deserve to have their lives. I found this company online. I decided to give it a try because of the guarantee but it was so disappointing. They didn't finish the work they promised, plus they left a big mess. When I called and made a complaint the rep said I was lying!!? How did she know what going on at my house when she is in the office, I'm lying? Who would talk to customers that way? They don't respect the house period. So the crew didn't tarp anything, they left the dust on the ground for most of the day. After they did the work I haven't slept well at all. Even though it says in the contract a clear list of guidelines they're supposed to follow. I noticed they didn't spray nor disinfect by the end of the day so I asked, but they said they're doing it right now. I noticed they weren't doing it, so I asked again in 10mins he said a different crew would come the next day and I should call the office even though they're closed. However I got a hold of a field supervisor who asked if they were doing their job, they reluctantly changed their answer to yes when talking to their superiors. (When they came back to spray the next week they barely let the machine go for maybe 1min then said it doesn't matter...lol this guy's the laziest guy ever it's not like he has to move for the fogger to work. I trapped a rat under my house yesterday so I figured to call an exterminator to help me seal up the attic and under the house, this guys gave me a verbal estimate for $6430 in less the two minutes, not even taking the time to check where the entrance under the house, telling me that I need an attic cleaning.. we got new insulation in 2014 and a new A/C unit three months ago. He said, $6430 will take care of everything.. wtf ? People please ask for a city permit and the construction license, if the job is more then 400 dollars they should have a city permit and a construction license. We tried several different pest control companies before we got to Rodents Stop. None of the other service providers were successful because of their shortsighted process of combating rodents. Many companies claim to seal holes and stop rodents from entering crawl spaces, attics, etc.. but they don't do a thorough job. The poor results are obvious; they trap and remove the existing rodents but new replacement rodents appear. Like combat, reinforcements will arrive and eventually find the weak spot and breach the fort / castle / house. However Rodents Stop actually puts the effort in to stopping future entry. You'll never win the war against the rodents; there's just too many of them. Spend more up front and keep them out for good. I asked for a quote and a price range on the phone before I set up the appointment. They said they wouldn't be able to give me even a ball park figure until they came. The inspector showed up at the literal tail end of the 2 hour appointment time and then proceeded to do a song and dance that came to the tune of a $4800 quote for a single story 1200 square foot house that did not require new insulation. The inspector told me that the starting price for a house this size was $4500. If they had told me that on the phone, I would have laughed and hung up the phone. I called Rodent Stop because I heard noise in the attic and wanted them to come check if I had rats. The technician came, went up to the attic and said there was rat poop along with 2 dead baby rats and showed me photos of them on his phone. I called a second company to come inspect my attic and they said my attic was clean, no trace of rat urine or poop and certainly no dead rats! I finally had my brother in law come take a look just to be sure and he scoured the attic and said there were no rats and no poop. Let's just say that after too many sleepless nights listening to R's in my attic, I finally hired them and have been sleeping soundly ever since. They did what no other pest company was able to do - they eradicated the problem.
