I normally eat at the Dallas location on Market Center and have never had an issue. Came to the Denton location and was very disappointed. We ate outside because the weather was nice. Our food was great and came out in good time. The food tasted great. However, the service was awful. We ordered dessert and my son wanted a bowl of chili and that is when things went downhill fast. It took longer to get the dessert and the bowl of chili then it did to receive our meal. There was no apology nothing. I was very disappointed because the service was so bad. My family had never been to Rodeo Goat before and they have heard me talk it up so much from eating at the Dallas location for work lunches a lot. But the server was great and even tho the wait was long, the burgers were good. This week we ordered takeout as our second try. Three burgers, fries, a salad, and the chili. Burgers were very good and everyone said they would order them again. The chili is good also, tasty, not spicy but flavorful. The quantity is small for the price. But oh geez the salad was awful. The Avocado Caesar was a large, large serving of lettuce including lots of the stems. Lots and lots of stems. There was half an avocado and maybe 6-8 olives. Searched for them amongst the lettuce to retrieve them. It was supposed to have capers but they were just tiny shriveled pieces to be found in the bottom. The amount of dressing served with the salad was definitely not enough to dress the lettuce. Ate the avocado, olives and a bit of lettuce. Looked like I was throwing out a whole salad. Wow great burgers and heavenly cheese fries. This location opened just last year and already on a Wednesday night at 6:30 it was packed wall to wall. Good sign! The atmosphere is goat chic casual. Very relaxing and comfortable. We sat at the bar and although the bar was packed the one bartender took care of everyone and made it look so easy. Timings and food delivery were perfect. I had the Old No. 7 and it was very juicy and delicious. The menu stated there was a pretzel bun but it just tasted regular to me. The bread is unbelievably fresh. We were excited to eat here after dining in the Ft Worth location but had a bad first experience. In their rush to open, they seem to have just created a bad diner experience, think Johnny Rockets on its last days. The drinks were wrong...because the lines were connect incorrectly the waiter said. Our food was forever coming out. He finally told us the onion rings had been burned and they were making new ones. Some time later he brought the burgers and said the rings would be a bit longer. By then the burgers seem to have been sitting awhile. Cold. Kinda mushy. But one had a bun so hard you could tap it with a fork. The place seemed mobbed when it first opened but was kinda dead the night we went. Maybe it's not living up to the hype. Food is mediocre at best. If you don't like mustard / mayo make sure to ask for it on the side, because they smother it in mustard on one side, mayo on the other. The fries are sold separate and aren't good, especially cold. There's no ketchup on the table, so if your server is M.I.A you won't get ketchup. Our service was terrible. Our server took our order and disappeared. Our order was basic 2 burgers, 2 beers and fries . One burger came complete, the other missing lettuce & tomatoes. Visited again during a Thursday happy hour. This visit didn't go so well. It wasn't crowded like our last visit on a Friday so we were sat quickly. We asked about the happy hour and the server said there was not a happy hour because it was Thursday. I thought maybe she thought I meant the food happy hour - they have half off cheese fries on Wednesday, so when she came back I specifically asked if there was happy hour on margaritas. She said there was not happy hour "that day". That was fine, even though I thought on my last visit I saw signs of happy hour 3-6. My partner ordered a beer and I ordered a glass of wine - which she said was out of stock (sav blanc). I said, that's fine, and asked about their rose- if it was still/sweet... she said she didn't know and that she was only 20 and can't drink. I said okay, no worries. I'll get a pinot noir. When she came back it was a white wine- which was not what I ordered - and I realized it was a pinot gris. I didnt say anything and didn't send back but I was a bit irritated that it seemed to fall on the guest to specify their drink order to the server. I was asking questions about the menu items and it didn't seem like she knew about the plates- and what's worse was she didn't offer to find out. She would just shrug it off like she didn't know. The servers should be knowledgeable of their menu and restaurant - when a guest asks. Even the two dessert items listed on the menu were never explained - my table had to google what they were because the server came back with the check after the entree instead of offering us the dessert options. Service was a bit disappointing to say the least. I will say, the food never disappoints... Rodeo Goat has really great food! However, it's almost worth going to another location with the service we were provided. We were seated pretty quick. I did think it was odd that none of the burgers come with a side, they are extra. Instead of just a regular side of fries my wife and I got a french fry surprise which had cheese and brisket on it. Pretty good. We both got the old #7 burger as part of the two burger battle and for a place that specializes in burgers they were not very good at all. Odd that a burger place would serve as a top bill such a bad item. The waiter was ok. I read another review on here that said their server got a lot more attentive once the check time came. The food here is amazing, very creative takes on a classic burger. They also have gluten free buns which are very tasty as well. Their cocktails are really good, but we have noticed they can be inconsistent depending on which bartender you get. Sides are a la carte which seems pretty standard for a nice burger place these days. Service can be a little slow when it's busier, but you can always tell they are trying. Went on a Saturday night, expecting it to be busy. It wasn't, and we were seated quickly. Server took our order and brought our drinks fairly quickly. However, he only spoke to us twice more during our entire visit. Our meals came out slowly and in two batches, delivered by different servers than our original one. He came by once and got us more drinks, but walked by our table multiple times and never spoke to us. Another employee bussed our table, and we sat for another 20 minutes waiting for our server to walk back by so we could get our check. We visited for lunch on Saturday. The restaurant has only been open about a week, so we expected a bump or two. We are burger aficionados and are always looking for he next best burger. And a place that advertises "hand cut French fries" - even better! This place says on the menu "our patties are hand ground and formed, so may be juicier and messier than everybody else's" sounds like we are in the right place - nope !! The burger was over cooked and dry. We were sitting at the bar and the couple near us made the same observation about their meals. The French fries looked good, but were Luke warm and had been sitting awhile, tasting somewhat stale.
