The extensive menu is great and has very unique and fun options. I order the chips and queso. The chips were a good thickness, some were a little over cooked. I loved l the mix in in the queso. The cheese itself was on the thicker side. The guac, meat, and pico definitely elevated the dip and made for a fun shareable app. I also got the saddle up, one of the limited items. The thick bacon was perfect addition to the burger, it was nice and cheesy. I prefer a thinner patty so i liked that the burger had two thin patties. The egg added a great saucy flavor plus the pickles brightened up the burger. With all the flavorful toppings and runny egg the burger was not greasy or messy. We went on a Sunday afternoon to watch the game and ultimately he disappointed by the cowboys. The ambiance was exactly what we were looking for. Bar type setting with good food. We had great service here on a random Tuesday evening. The view of course is one not to miss, especially if you can catch a bench during your meal and watch the sunset. All three burgers at our table were made exactly as ordered and we managed to eat them intact, despite all the toppings. If you want a change of sides, go for the sweet potatoes fries and have them with a side of ranch dressing. The drinks are pretty standard, nothing too extraordinary... although some of the names were clever. The food was solid, but the views at this location are top tier. It took forever for our server to come to our table. It was so bad, that another server could see that no one was waiting on us and that we had been sitting there for so long that she was nice enough to stop and ask for our drink order. FINALLY, our regular server showed up, after a long wait. At that point we gave her our drink order , appetizer and main entree order. Then, she disappeared again only to be seen again with the closing tab (her handheld). I don't know if she had too many tables to service or not . All I know that the service sucked badly. Being next to the beautiful lake during sunset with a cold drink and a warm hearty burger is one of the premiere dining experiences. You really can't go wrong with any of the burger options but some of my favorites are the Royale with cheese, Sugar Burger, and the DCC. My husband and I visited Rodeo Goat in Rockwall today for my birthday and ordered a burger to go. While waiting at the bar for my order, the manager, Brian, walked behind the bar. I asked him for a cup of water to go, and he responded in a dismissive tone, "I have bottles of water for sale," before walking away. I then said excuse me to get his attention. I pointed out that another customer seated two barstools down had a cup of water, and Brian replied, again dismissively, "Yes, for paying customers." My husband then informed him that we were paying customers. Only after that did Brian attempt to claim he didn't know we had placed an order. As a Black couple, we were deeply troubled by this interaction. It felt as though Brian assumed we were asking for something for free rather than assuming, like he did with others, that we were paying customers. His behavior came across as discriminatory and inappropriate, and it created a very negative experience on what should have been a celebratory day. I strongly believe this incident should be addressed with Brian, as no guest should be made to feel singled out or judged based on race. read more

I ate too much! There are a few locations. We ate at the one in Rockwall on the lake. This place is huge on the inside and also has a nice outdoor area. We came here because they advertise gluten-free options. I had the Monday special, $3 Frozen Moontangs (Moonshine, Tang, and orange liquor)...actually, I had two! They are wonderful (and go down fast). The two of us shared the Cheese Fries Surprise. I had the Brad Sham on a gluten-free bun. Unfortunately, the wait-staff didn't understand what gluten-free means and they had to make it twice. Restaurants should educate their staff on food allergies. The Brad Sham is a beef patty, with bacon, tomato, jalapeños, lettuce, fried onion, cheddar, pickle chutney, and BBQ sauce. The "fried onion" is actually a breaded and deep fried onion ring... the first time, the condements were all stacked on a gluten-free bun, lol. The second time, it arrived minus the toxic wheat coated onion. To be honest, the beef is inconsequential to the burger. There is so much going on, you hardly notice its existence. Meh... We should have stopped at the fries; we ended up eating about half. If we return, just order fries and drinks and forget about the burger. read more

This is a great dog friendly patio restaurant with views of the lake. Lots of comfortable seating available and they don't mind our toddler exploring the patio (we were early on a Sunday and it hadn't gotten busy yet). Two of us ordered salads- the chef (yummy with delicious steak on top and fresh dressing) and a side salad (big enough to serve as a meal!). Two others ordered burgers - one plain and one fancy. First time at this location. Loved the drinks, the BLTX and the Old Buffagoat. The drinks alone were fantastic, very refreshing and beyond well made! The food is always delicious, we had a second go at the steaming pile and as always it never fails! The cheese, the egg and the crispy potato's just work together perfectly! We tried the Chaca Oaxaca and Ray Hubbard, the Oaxaca was done right, the patty with the mixed meats stayed together. My bf devoured it without trouble. I myself had the Ray Hubbard, I really liked the cheddar subtleness with the blackberry compote, the mustard does have the seeds on the burger but it's at the bottom. Oh but the flavors were sooo good together, I do recommend the pickles they give as a side dish. We finished off with the seasonal pumpkin spiced Goat Balls,, the pumpkin is well blended with everything, not a pumpkin or cinnamon overbearing taste, a nice balance. We hardly order dessert so this was new for me, I was too full to finish my share. Our waitress Willie was very attentive, recommend the dessert and made sure we had everything we needed. We were worried the service would be slow but the reviews don't tell you it's a SEAT YOURSELF place. We did sit in the pin and with the chairs low it can be hard to see but we did not have that problem. This was such an epic random Yelp! find for me on an overnight stay close to this location! After checking out reviews I chose this spot over several others in the area due to what appeared to me to be down to earth, country and classy unique. From the moment I found out where it actually is on the back side of the outdoor mall type area, I knew I picked the right spot! It has this funky, old country, new country, over the top but welcoming vibe. The staff which helped us totally fit the scene and were amazing! My friend and I sat at the bar to enjoy a couple of local craft beers with our meal. Above the bar sits this really cool goat with a saddle posed in a bucking position. I thought it was super cool. Again, the service from the bartender who kept us with ice cold beer and also took our food order and delivered it was just amazing. I highly recommend getting a plate of the cheese fries to accompany whatever meal you get. My burger was super good. I forget the name, the Diablo maybe, was supposed to be super hot and spicy but I found it to have mild heat only. I suppose for some this could be like eating a forrest fire but hey, to each their own right? I have been to the Rodeo Goat in Dallas and in Plano but this one has to be the best location because its located right next to lake ray Hubbard in Rockwall! Parking was not too great on a Saturday evening which is to be expected. This plaza is very popular because it's on the waterfront. Our server Alex was excellent! He was patient, thorough, and he informed us when our food was coming because it was a busy Saturday night. I always get the same thing when I go here which is the Nanny Goat. Its perfection as always. I tried the chili cheese fries and they were okay. I personally think the regular fries are better because I don't like too much toppings on my fries but if you like chili cheese fries share this one with someone because it's a lot. I absolutely loved everything about my visit here! First of all, this was my first time coming to The Harbor and I had no idea that this location was pretty much on the shores of Lake Ray Hubbard. Thankfully, we were able to be seated on the patio. The views at sunset were absolutely breathtaking! As if that wasn't enough, the food here is absolutely delicious and the service was fantastic!! Sidenote: COVID-19 protocol is DEFINITELY being followed here. Masks are required until you're seated. Tables were arranged in a way that maintained a safe distance between all patrons, and all staff members were wearing masks. This made for an even more enjoyable dining experience. Speaking of the staff, our waitress was SO sweet and helpful!! She was super attentive and made sure to tell us about all of the specials going on. Since we came on a Wednesday, we were able to take advantage of the Worthy Wednesday promotion (half price cheese fries ALL DAY!!). We got the cheese fries, no surprise, which are fries with bacon, jalapeños, a ridiculous amount of cheese, with a side of this AMAZING ranch dressing! The fries were perfect. Crispy on the outside, soft and fluffy on the inside. Our single order was HUGE and was more than enough to feed three grown women who LOVE TO EAT, and we still had some left over!! For my entree, I got the bodacious which is a cheeseburger with bacon, fried onions, grilled jalapeños, smoked jalapeño mayo, and barbecue sauce. It also comes with pickles, but I got them taken off. The burger was SO GOOD. Super juicy and well-seasoned. The jalapeños were super spicy so instead of a small kick, they actually provided a punch in the face, but it was so worth it!! All of the flavors were well balanced and worked together perfectly. My sister and her best friend were raving about their meals as well.
