I have been to the Rodeo Goat in Dallas and in Plano but this one has to be the best location because its located right next to lake ray Hubbard in Rockwall! Parking was not too great on a Saturday evening which is to be expected. This plaza is very popular because it's on the waterfront. Our server Alex was excellent! He was patient, thorough, and he informed us when our food was coming because it was a busy Saturday night. I always get the same thing when I go here which is the Nanny Goat. Its perfection as always. I tried the chili cheese fries and they were okay. I personally think the regular fries are better because I don't like too much toppings on my fries but if you like chili cheese fries share this one with someone because it's a lot. I absolutely loved everything about my visit here! First of all, this was my first time coming to The Harbor and I had no idea that this location was pretty much on the shores of Lake Ray Hubbard. Thankfully, we were able to be seated on the patio. The views at sunset were absolutely breathtaking! As if that wasn't enough, the food here is absolutely delicious and the service was fantastic!! Sidenote: COVID-19 protocol is DEFINITELY being followed here. Masks are required until you're seated. Tables were arranged in a way that maintained a safe distance between all patrons, and all staff members were wearing masks. This made for an even more enjoyable dining experience. Speaking of the staff, our waitress was SO sweet and helpful!! She was super attentive and made sure to tell us about all of the specials going on. Since we came on a Wednesday, we were able to take advantage of the Worthy Wednesday promotion (half price cheese fries ALL DAY!!). We got the cheese fries, no surprise, which are fries with bacon, jalapeños, a ridiculous amount of cheese, with a side of this AMAZING ranch dressing! The fries were perfect. Crispy on the outside, soft and fluffy on the inside. Our single order was HUGE and was more than enough to feed three grown women who LOVE TO EAT, and we still had some left over!! For my entree, I got the bodacious which is a cheeseburger with bacon, fried onions, grilled jalapeños, smoked jalapeño mayo, and barbecue sauce. It also comes with pickles, but I got them taken off. The burger was SO GOOD. Super juicy and well-seasoned. The jalapeños were super spicy so instead of a small kick, they actually provided a punch in the face, but it was so worth it!! All of the flavors were well balanced and worked together perfectly. My sister and her best friend were raving about their meals as well. Rodeo goat is a good quality good price burger joint. Some people might say it's the best burger in Dallas which I wouldn't agree with. But if you want a better than average meal for average cost And the beautiful view of the lake this place is for you! The outside seating facing the lake is very nice for a date/get together/business meeting. The service was excellent! The kitchen took care of my pork allergy and made sure there was no cross contamination. Even tho they were fully booked our waiter was keeping up with napkins/drinks and asked us multiple times if everything was okay. This is my new burger spot. I've only been twice but I'm really impressed with the atmosphere, the mix of music playing in the background sets a mood. The waitstaff has always been friendly, ready to offer suggestions, and correct mistakes. And the food and cocktails are delicious. One of my favorite things on their menu is the Steaming Pile... man these tater tots or on a whole new level. I don't recall everything on top but it's salty, sharp (possibly from blue cheese), creamy, smoky and served in a cast iron skillet to add this crispy flavorful Crust. And to bring it all together they top it with a runny egg. Oh and they have amazing drinks. There's this drink called a Fainting Goat it beer based and trust within 4 sips I was lit. So I see why there's a 2 drink max. The cocktails were also well balanced and accompanied the burgers well. I recommend the BLTX and the Rosebud. I have tried the Dad Bod burger it had fried Mac and cheese really tasty but could have used a sauce to bring it all together. And I had 2 other burgers the Blues Goat and the Brad Sham. Great if you like a lot for a little. Just be careful that you don't get too much. The Rockwall location is in a busy retail/entertainment complex with several popular restaurants and a movie theater. Even on a Monday evening, parking was a bit of a challenge. Once we got to the restaurant, we were seated immediately. The interior is cavernous, and there are lots of seats outside for anyone who wants to enjoy the Texas sun. Even though we missed happy hour, their Monday special, $3 Frozen Moontangs (Moonshine, Tang, and orange liquor), are not to be missed. We also ordered a plate of Cheese Fries Surprise. It was huge and delicious, and we could (should) have stopped there. However, we also ordered a couple of burgers, a Hot Bastard, and a Brad Sham. Both had a lot going on with all the toppings and added ingredients. All of that overpowered the burger to the point where it went unnoticed. We ate about half the fries so we could finish our burgers and wound up liking the fries a lot more. I've been to this location a couple of times, and never had an issue. However, I recent visited this location a few Sundays ago with some friends for lunch. We had a big party (10-15 people), and when we entered we ended up standing by the door for 10 minutes waiting to be seated, even though we called ahead to reserve a table. We were brought to one table and then was shifted to another table in the corner. The white animal was okay, not as flavorful as I thought it would be, and the fries were tasty. The loaded fries can feed many people, so keep that in mind when ordering. In the past I've had that hot bastard, and the Chaca Oaxaca, and a white truffle burger, all of which were very tasty! Our waitress on this particular day, who's name was Karis, was absolutely horrible. She never came to check on us, and seemed irritated about us asking questions or her opinions of favorites from the menu. It was as if our presence there was a burden or a hassle to her. It wasn't very packed in the restaurant either. My dining experience here was ruined because of the lack of service, and her bitter attitude towards myself and my friends. Fries are separate and we only order one which was more than enough for 3 young adults to pick at after an assortment of drinks. Now granted they are Gourmet Burgers And this particular location does have a scenic view of Lake Ray Hubbard. if you go in the evening you will have a beautiful sunset as the backdrop for your meal And for some that may justify The price so I won't argue with that, I just have to say it's not for me. it's too expensive for such a small hamburger with no side included.
