While the food is good, the wait was ridiculous. I ordered online, went to pick up. I checked in at the bar, gave my name. Bartender said they were bagging it up. Only problem was they hadn't received my order ...it showed on my end but not theirs. We worked it out and I waited again. Things happen but the fact that the bartender didn't really check didn't help. The entire time I stood there, almost 30 minutes , only one, kind server came over. When I am in Dallas I always make an appointment to go to rodeo goat. This place by far has the best Burger I've had. The people at work there make the experience good. The food is always hot and cooked just as I've ordered. Yes it's got a funny name but it's got great food and a great atmosphere that's relaxed and casual. I had the Hola Señorita burger which was really good. It was very nice to see Kelsey again, now as a manager. Rodeo goat is a good quality good price burger joint. Some people might say it's the best burger in Dallas which I wouldn't agree with. But if you want a better than average meal for average cost And the beautiful view of the lake this place is for you! The outside seating facing the lake is very nice for a date/get together/business meeting. The service was excellent! The kitchen took care of my pork allergy and made sure there was no cross contamination. Even tho they were fully booked our waiter was keeping up with napkins/drinks and asked us multiple times if everything was okay. This is my new burger spot. I've only been twice but I'm really impressed with the atmosphere, the mix of music playing in the background sets a mood. The waitstaff has always been friendly, ready to offer suggestions, and correct mistakes. And the food and cocktails are delicious. One of my favorite things on their menu is the Steaming Pile... man these tater tots or on a whole new level. I don't recall everything on top but it's salty, sharp (possibly from blue cheese), creamy, smoky and served in a cast iron skillet to add this crispy flavorful Crust. And to bring it all together they top it with a runny egg. Oh and they have amazing drinks. There's this drink called a Fainting Goat it beer based and trust within 4 sips I was lit. So I see why there's a 2 drink max. The cocktails were also well balanced and accompanied the burgers well. I recommend the BLTX and the Rosebud. I have tried the Dad Bod burger it had fried Mac and cheese really tasty but could have used a sauce to bring it all together. And I had 2 other burgers the Blues Goat and the Brad Sham. The ambiance is very laid back chill vibes to hang with friends and catch up. I ordered a Brad Sham and it was GREAT!! The burger was VERY filling and flavorful. I love how they have several options and each one has its own unique to it. Whether it be taste, a special sauce, or even grilled peaches lol. Great if you like a lot for a little. Just be careful that you don't get too much. The Rockwall location is in a busy retail/entertainment complex with several popular restaurants and a movie theater. Even on a Monday evening, parking was a bit of a challenge. Once we got to the restaurant, we were seated immediately. The interior is cavernous, and there are lots of seats outside for anyone who wants to enjoy the Texas sun. Even though we missed happy hour, their Monday special, $3 Frozen Moontangs (Moonshine, Tang, and orange liquor), are not to be missed. We also ordered a plate of Cheese Fries Surprise. It was huge and delicious, and we could (should) have stopped there. However, we also ordered a couple of burgers, a Hot Bastard, and a Brad Sham. Both had a lot going on with all the toppings and added ingredients. All of that overpowered the burger to the point where it went unnoticed. We ate about half the fries so we could finish our burgers and wound up liking the fries a lot more. I've been to this location a couple of times, and never had an issue. However, I recent visited this location a few Sundays ago with some friends for lunch. We had a big party (10-15 people), and when we entered we ended up standing by the door for 10 minutes waiting to be seated, even though we called ahead to reserve a table. We were brought to one table and then was shifted to another table in the corner. The white animal was okay, not as flavorful as I thought it would be, and the fries were tasty. The loaded fries can feed many people, so keep that in mind when ordering. In the past I've had that hot bastard, and the Chaca Oaxaca, and a white truffle burger, all of which were very tasty! Our waitress on this particular day, who's name was Karis, was absolutely horrible. She never came to check on us, and seemed irritated about us asking questions or her opinions of favorites from the menu. It was as if our presence there was a burden or a hassle to her. It wasn't very packed in the restaurant either. My dining experience here was ruined because of the lack of service, and her bitter attitude towards myself and my friends. Happy hour is the best hour and the goat did not disappoint! Their happy hour is 4-7 and well drinks are 3.50. We decided on cranberry vodkas, whiskey sours and gin& tonics. Best drinks were the gin & tonics. The burgers were also good however was not cooked medium as I requested but no harm done. Fries are separate and we only order one which was more than enough for 3 young adults to pick at after an assortment of drinks. Chips and queso was also very good and our server was super nice and checked in regularly. The outside patio has swinging benches which was cool but they were taken so we got bar seats over looking the Lake. For an amazing view and location I wouldn't have chose another place. We saw a billboard sign and decided to check it out. The burgers were as fresh as they describe ("All meats ground in our kitchen hourly). I got the Brad Sham and some of the best sweet potato fries I've ever eaten. They also have a nice happy hour and a burger battle which seems fun - they choose two burgers to compete against each other - the Wildfire burger is currently in the lead, so it must be good! Super awesome bar. Couldn't ask for better scenery!! It's literally right by the lake and has a TON of outdoor seating! They have awesome "swing" tables you can sit on! Absolute blast!! Only downfall is the service. We went when literally there was us and one other couple. It took about twenty minutes for someone to come serve us.
