Chicken Breast platter
Karina M.

Absolutely love this place! it's definitely one of my favorite food spots in Playa Vista. They validate parking in the structure, unlike the place next door, which only claims to validate parking, so you can be in and out quickly if you're picking up food to go. They have a Chipotle style set up but that doesn't mean the service isn't stellar. They'll let you try meats and items on the protein list and help you build out your order. I've gotten the chicken breast platter on every visit, but I've sampled the fried falafel and it's delicious. All the veggies have always been really fresh and delicious. The turmeric rice is just delicious and the meat quality is amazing. I'm personally really picky about meat, but it's always been top quality--no gross or dark meat pieces in the chicken breast and they make it fresh to order. The desserts are also incredible! I've tried the baklava cheesecake and salted caramel butterscotch cheesecake and both were absolutely amazing if you're a baklava fan! Highly recommend this spot!

Park Fries

I was a regular patron to the NoHo location until I moved out of the area. I absolutely loved it and always raved to all my friends about it. When I found out that the Playa location was conveniently in an area I frequent, I was excited to get it again. The only positives to the Playa locale is that the honey custard cake is amazing and that the Big Fat Pitas are still oversized goodness. The park fries ended up soggy from the condensation in the bag. Granted, the fries were still warm, but that packaging is not conducive to ANY level of fry-happiness. The chicken shawarma bowl was beyond a let down. The majority of it was dark meat, and it was so dried out. There was absolutely no seasoning or flavor to the chicken. It tasted like it had been roasted bare and sitting in a warming tray for a couple days exposed to the direct summer sun. You know that scene in Christmas Vacation where they're sitting around the dinner table and trying to chew through the turkey? Ya, it was that dry. The rice was okay. The tzatziki sauce was a bit scary, too. In the little to-go containers, the sauce had an uncanny amount of water separation happening in it. Like, there's a normal type of separation that can happen (proteins in the dairy, etc), but this wasn't right. Even after stirring it up a bit, it had a slimy goop consistency. Flavor-wise? I took a bite with the chicken and didn't bother with the rest. The big fat gyro pita was okay. All the sauce was just on the ends, but the pita bread was soft and there was a lot of meat. Overall, I was full from the meal (of what I did finish eating) but extremely disappointed in it. I won't go back. In terms of parking, I can see it being tricky when school is in session (I went on a Saturday). I parked in the 10 minute drop off zone outside on Shared Dr. Not knowing the area, I wandered through the parking structure following the signs for the food. There is a visitors entrance into the parking structure off of S Center Campus Dr (I discovered as I drove away).

The leftovers since no one liked the Baklava Cheesecake
Alex B.

The baklava cheesecake sounds like such a good idea, but it doesn't taste good at all and costs $70. Between six people, we couldn't even finish a single slice because it tastes like piles of cinnamon. The cheesecake part is decent but it's drowned out by all the cinnamon. The baklava part is inedible. I wish these cakes had return policies.

Big Fat Pita with Falafel.

Finally tried this place for lunch today and WOW was I pleasantly surprised. I never thought Greek place in a Hipster office park would be so good. I had the Big Fat Pita with Falafel today. The falafels were made to order which is a must in my opinion. All of the fillings were very fresh and crisp. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Definitely coming back.

Place in like and hidden but if you find it you'll be grub n! Food is great but wish my plates had more meat. I think the owner did come by and hook me up with more on da house. Friendly and attentive staff. Will return asap and get a side of meat with my order next time. They validate too so don't forget.

Meats + Olives + Feta + Sauce!!

This joint is located in a very quiet and mostly empty park of the massive Playa Vista biz complex. Since COVID it's been pretty spooky over there. But there's a few great spots for lunch, especially if you are looking for somewhere mellow to grab a meal. Rodini is good. For $12 bucks I got a generous Greek plate with delicious fresh veggies, yummy feta, tangy olives and tons of sauce options. Lord knows I am obsessed with a good food bowl. I would probably opt for another meat or the falafel option next time. The beef/lamb gyro was fine, if not lukewarm and a bit dry. Ok but nothing to write home about. Maybe I would just get a salad as the veggies and sauce were so good. It's such a cute place, nice staff and a great outdoor patio area. I found easy parking on the street and strolled over in 2 minutes. The dessert options are insane, I will def go back just to get on some of that. Epic sweets cases.

I had never heard of Angel Maid but a few weeks later I reached out to them to order a birthday cake for a good friend of ours. And it did not disappoint! They are limited in what they will do. If you bring in a photo of a cake you want, chances are they won't be able to do it. They do not do images at all. They have a book and you can pick a cake. Their selection in store is very good, but I am so sick of most of them having a whipped cream frosting that you have to keep cold. I don't like cold cake. Their selection of butter cream is lacking. They do have a nice selection of cupcakes with butter cream frosting which is great. When you have them write on a cake you pre ordered you can tell they took very little time to do it, it is sloppy and there is nothing but what you told them to write. Most bakeries add a little flower or something to present the name. I just had a lemon curd type cake from them and I noticed the sloppy writing and the cake was so sweet I could not eat it, and of course, it was cold. I won't be back. That is sad. I will find another bakery that cares. But I still give them a 4 because I know a lot of people like sweet cakes with whipped cream frosting and their service is very good.

**FAVORITE LA BAKERY**…read more After years of living in LA and working my way through just about every bakery in town, I finally found the one. This is my soul bakery. PARKING We lucked out with street parking right in front. It's limited, and I can see it getting tight on weekends, but doable with patience. PASTRIES & CAKES PRINCESS CAKE - $6.50 I ordered this slice for my birthday, and it absolutely delivered. Alternating layers of airy sponge cake, vanilla custard, and house-made raspberry jam, topped with a dome of whipped cream and finished in light green almond paste. Every bite was balanced--rich but never cloying. Perfect texture, perfect sweetness. Rating: 5/5 RASPBERRY LEMON MOUSSE CAKE - $6.50 An indulgent combination of fresh raspberries and mousse layered with feather-light sponge cake brushed in lemon syrup. Finished with bits of raspberry-infused Valrhona chocolate, this cake hits that ideal sweet-tart balance. Bright, elegant, and not overly sweet--exactly how dessert should be. Rating: 5/5 SPANDAUER - $3.50 Understated and refined. Almond paste, custard, and crunchy almond flakes come together beautifully. Soft meets crisp in all the right ways. Rating: 4/5 KRINGLE - $3.50 A flaky pastry filled with almond paste and custard, topped with sugar and almond flakes. Simple, comforting, and executed perfectly. Excellent with coffee. Rating: 4.5/5 OVERALL Warm, friendly service paired with exceptional pastries and cakes. This place nails balance, flavor, and texture without relying on excess sweetness. Sinners & Saints Desserts offers a splurge for a luscious dessert, yet scrumptious for those that need gluten-free treats. Be mindful that their kitchen is not a dedicated gluten-free one, but precautions are taken to minimize cross contamination. I used to work in the area & came across this bakery, but never got around to trying them out. Since my daughter's birthday was coming up, I thought about trying them out since their desserts were beautifully displayed... they should taste good, right? I ordered the current favorite flavor: red velvet, & asked if they could decorate it with pink flowers & birthday message in red. The cake looks plain with just 3 pink roses, but the birthday cursive was pretty good; however, for the price, it wasn't worth eating a super dry cake. Our family of 4 barely ate 1/3, & tried giving it away to our neighbors, who were also unimpressed. The Smack Pie was supposedly a decadent chocolate lover's sinful treat. It was meh... the ganache wasn't silky-smooth but did taste fudgy, the caramel was hard, & the peanuts were stale. We did enjoy the Banana Cream & Lemon Blueberry Tarts to offset the very dry birthday cake. Luckily, I bought these to compensate for the cake so the birthday girl was happy in the end. Sinners & Saints Desserts sounds like a deliciously tempting bakery but some of their goods miss the mark. I don't think I'll be purposely sinning here much. Recommended: Lemon Blueberry & Banana Cream Tarts.
