I've had this place bookmarked ever since it came across my TikTok feed! I'm a huge Mediterranean food fan, so I recommended it to my friend Angie for her birthday dinner. We made a reservation in advance for a Friday night and ordered a variety of dishes for the table along with a bottle of wine. Interestingly, the power went out on the entire block during our dinner, but luckily we had already placed our food order. We ended up getting some extra candles for better lighting, and the staff was incredibly accommodating throughout the whole situation. They even gave us a free glass of wine for the trouble, which was such a nice gesture. All of the food was delicious. Extremely disappointing experience with Alisa in Venice. I arranged and paid in advance for a bottle of champagne to be delivered to a friend's table as a surprise for their birthday dinner. Because I wanted to make absolutely sure everything was handled correctly, I called Alisa twice to confirm the bottle and the arrangement. Both times, I was assured everything was taken care of. Despite the advance payment and two confirmation calls, the staff never delivered the champagne. This wasn't a last-minute request or a simple miscommunication. Alisa took my payment and had multiple opportunities to confirm the details, yet somehow no one managed to execute an incredibly straightforward request. The entire purpose was to surprise my friend on their birthday, so it's not something that can simply be fixed the next day. Mistakes happen, but the level of poor communication and lack of attention to detail here was remarkable. If two confirmation calls still aren't enough for the staff to successfully deliver a prepaid bottle of champagne to a table then incompetence is an understatement. Avoid at all costs. read more

The food itself is genuinely great, that's the only reason this isn't one star. We came in a party of 10 for a birthday and left feeling nickel-and-dimed at every turn. Our server, Ula, had an attitude from the moment we started ordering. When we tried to order our appetizers alongside our cocktails, even though we'd taken the time to write the whole order out in our notes app to make things easier for her, she got short with us, telling us instead that it would be easier for her if we placed the full order all at once. She then took forty five minutes to bring us replacement lamps after we found ours were already dead when we sat down, something that should've been caught before we were ever seated, leaving our table lit by nothing but the outdoor heaters for most of the night. The menu design itself is a little baffling too. The starters (hummus, eggplant) don't come with any pita, the flatbread is a separate $8 add-on with just one piece per order. For a table of 10, that meant ordering 13 flatbreads just to have something to scoop the dips with, $78 on bread alone. The flatbread itself was incredible, but having worked in the industry myself, I don't get why they wouldn't just build the bread into the price of the starters instead of nickel-and-diming it separately. The real problem is the billing. When they ask still or sparkling, they do not mention the still water is $11 a bottle, or that tap is even an option. It wasn't until later in the meal, when we kept asking for more water and they started bringing it out in a pitcher, that we even realized tap was on the table the whole time. 6 bottles later, that's $66 on water alone that we would have skipped entirely had anyone said a word. Looking at other reviews, this is not new. Multiple people have complained about this exact same water issue, 3 reviews dating back over a year, and the manager has responded each time promising they'd do better. Nothing has changed. We also brought a birthday cake, which staff walked out with the candle lit, set on the table, and left for us to cut and serve ourselves with plates and forks they handed us, then charged us $30 for a cake cutting fee. On top of a 20% large party gratuity, which is standard and fine, they tacked on an additional 4.7% service fee. When we pushed back, Ula was dismissive, at one point visually frowning and saying she "felt for us" and that if it were her restaurant water would be free - then only comped the cake fee, leaving the water charges and extra fee intact. The water is free though if you mentioned tap alongside the still or sparkling options! Great menu, good vibe, but be ready to interrogate every line item before you order anything, and don't expect much warmth from your server if you do. read more

They were also very busy and the service was fast, attentive, and friendly. Spanakopita - fantastic, crispy, flaky, savory, very good! Romesco, confit leeks - really tasty, the pita was the star here, would likely switch to the tzatziki next time. Lamb chops - these were cooked PERFECTLY! Tzatziki was so good, I would absolutely not miss these. Lobster orzo - it was so perfect, seafood was fresh, but it's a very rich dish we couldn't finish it - it was good. Baklava - this was my favorite desert, never pass up baklava. Walking into this restaurant, you feel like you are on a luxury vacation in Greece. The indoor seating is adorable, but the outdoor area is even better. The food was delicious, including the complementary olives and the flatbread, seabass, eggplant dip, and lamb. Even better were the cocktails. The golden hour drink is delicious and it can be seen dotting almost every table. The waitstaff are extremely kind, but also overly attentive. We found ourselves unable to engage in much conversation over dinner because we were being interrupted by waitstaff seemingly every few minutes. Our water glasses were practically overflowing. By the end of the night, it had become so comical at our table, that with my last bite of the meal, I started a timer and within about a minute, the table had been cleared and wiped down. This is such a cute spot, the front entrance is so unassuming, but as you go deeper into the restaurant, they have quite a bit of a gorgeous indoor seating. Their outdoor patio is where it's at though. It is surrounded with these gorgeous olive trees. Every single bite we had there was so good and fresh and light. My favorite bites have to be the Greek salad, those heirloom tomatoes are so juicy and sweet. And I loved the branzino. It is so tender and has these flavorful garlic chips all on top. The seabass crudo is also so bright and a little spicy. We also tried the flatbread, which is nice and fluffy, and paired well with the hummus, although the hummus was pretty standard. The chicken skewers are also really, really tender, but nothing too special about that either. The vibe is amazing from the arched doorways to the deep blue's, comfy pillows and booth seating, and tapestries throughout the restaurant I loved it. Overall a very pretty restaurant with great service and tasty food, but the portion sizes were very small relative to the prices. For apps we got the feta and hummus dips, crudo, and halloumi. The feta dip, crudo, and halloumi were absolutely the stars of the night. I'd skip the hummus, as it wasn't anything special. However I didn't love that bread was an extra charge that didn't come with the dips. The size of the bread was also pretty small, and we felt like we needed two breads per dip, which instantly adds $12 (the bread by itself is $6 a piece). For our mains, we got both the chicken and lamb skewers. The skewers were okay, but not mind blowing and would not get again. Overall I think this is a great place to get some wine and appetizers, but I'd shy away from coming here hungry as you'd easily rack up a $300 bill for 2 people, and imo there are better places to do that read more

The night I went it was a bit overcast in Santa Monica, they offered my group blankets to keep us warm and even more some extra heaters to our corner. This place is straight out on a Pinterest board. I love the intimate and nicely lit setting. I felt like I was in someone's home. We ordered the black cod with orzo, and the Wagyu skewers. Of course we had to order their pita bread which was absolutely delicious! The Wagyu skewers were gone in no time, it was the perfect serving size to fill me up. The cod was perfectly seasoned and the orzo was the delicious, buttery texture. Never had orzo with lobster bisque before, but I'll have to try to remake that at home! Alisa is one of my friend's favorite spots so I was so excited to try it!! If you come in on the earlier side (before 7) it's not super busy, but then it starts to pick up after then. It's a beautifully decorated spot and really transports you to Greece. The staff are very friendly and attentive. We found parking in a lot down the street. It's family style, so we ordered several things to share. Yuzu OJ Cream Soda ($9): Caffeine free, non-alcoholic. SUPER sweet. Almost too sweet. But yummy dessert type of drink! *Refills are not free Tzatziki ($11): Really fresh, tastes good with the bread and veggies Eggplant dip ($11): This may have been my favorite??? It has a really intensely smoky garlic flavor and is best with the bread. I felt it didn't go as well with the veggies. Would come back just for this. Flatbread ($12): This bread is incredibly good, but I do feel that you should get at least 2 pieces for the price. Definitely get it with the dips. Seabass crudo agua chili ($23): Good salsa flavor with a little heat. I have no idea how much seabass costs as a fish but I do feel we could've skipped this one for the price. Chicken skewer ($23): Nicely grilled chicken with that charred flavor, not too dry!! Enough for 2 people imo. But also realistically you can get chicken skewers with sides and a drink for this price elsewhere. The sauces were good. Grilled farmer greens ($14): Very yummy, also with a chargrilled flavor. It came with broccolini, asparagus, shishito peppers, and I think some type of onion. Crudites ($8): Fresh rainbow carrots, cucumber with some sort of oil to add a little flavor. Good for health but tbh not necessary because the bread tastes better with the dips. In sum, this meal was approximately $86 per person with tax, service fee (4.7%), and 20% tip, which is pretty high for a meal without alcohol. My biggest suggestion would be to consider lowering the cost of the flatbread. Great for special occasions, or if your wallet can afford this price for a casual evening.
