Overall a very pretty restaurant with great service and tasty food, but the portion sizes were very small relative to the prices. For apps we got the feta and hummus dips, crudo, and halloumi. The feta dip, crudo, and halloumi were absolutely the stars of the night. I'd skip the hummus, as it wasn't anything special. However I didn't love that bread was an extra charge that didn't come with the dips. The size of the bread was also pretty small, and we felt like we needed two breads per dip, which instantly adds $12 (the bread by itself is $6 a piece). For our mains, we got both the chicken and lamb skewers. The skewers were okay, but not mind blowing and would not get again. Overall I think this is a great place to get some wine and appetizers, but I'd shy away from coming here hungry as you'd easily rack up a $300 bill for 2 people, and imo there are better places to do that read more

This is such a cute spot, the front entrance is so unassuming, but as you go deeper into the restaurant, they have quite a bit of a gorgeous indoor seating. Their outdoor patio is where it's at though. It is surrounded with these gorgeous olive trees. Every single bite we had there was so good and fresh and light. My favorite bites have to be the Greek salad, those heirloom tomatoes are so juicy and sweet. And I loved the branzino. It is so tender and has these flavorful garlic chips all on top. The seabass crudo is also so bright and a little spicy. We also tried the flatbread, which is nice and fluffy, and paired well with the hummus, although the hummus was pretty standard. We went here for my husband's birthday, and it was such an amazing experience. I felt like I was transported to Greece and on vacation. The vibe is amazing from the arched doorways to the deep blue's, comfy pillows and booth seating, and tapestries throughout the restaurant I loved it. Inside there is dim lighting and music so it felt romantic but also lively at the same time. The food and the ambience in the back patio definitely surprised us!! Everything was amazing but the highlights are definitely the spicy feta dip, the chicken skewers, and the grilled squid. The ambiance and service are incredible. The attention to even keeping your water at the same level is great. Never felt ignored or pushed and it was a fabulous meal. The night I went it was a bit overcast in Santa Monica, they offered my group blankets to keep us warm and even more some extra heaters to our corner. The best way to experience this restaurant is going with a big group and trying everything! They have a so many dips and appetizers, it was so hard for my group to pick which ones to try. Spicy Feta Dip - There's something magical about whipped feta. This one has just a hint of heat, enough to add flavor without being overly spicy. Grilled Squid - Tender baby squid grilled to perfection. Simple and delicious. Chicken Skewers - Smoky, juicy, and perfectly cooked. A great protein option to pair with all the flavorful dips and sauces. Roasted Potatoes - Baby potatoes roasted on skewers, beautifully seasoned and incredibly satisfying. Beautiful space and great location on Abbot Kinney. You can find street parking nearby since it's at the end of the street. It's a tapas style place so you have to get multiple items, each item had a decent price. However the food was pretty bland overall, the "smoked tomato salad" was just tomatoes and olive oil, no smoked or sweet onion on it, same with the side of the potatoes, they were just potatoes. The best tasting item were the meatballs if you're ok with the gamey taste of lamb. We came here to celebrate my dad's birthday with our family, but the evening was ruined by an extremely loud table of teenagers next to us who were yelling throughout dinner. We asked management to step in, and the manager did speak with them several times, but nothing changed. The most disappointing part was the complete lack of customer service afterward. Management knew our experience had been disrupted, yet offered no courtesy, no discount, no apology beyond speaking to the table, and no effort to make things right. Alisa is one of my friend's favorite spots so I was so excited to try it!! If you come in on the earlier side (before 7) it's not super busy, but then it starts to pick up after then. It's a beautifully decorated spot and really transports you to Greece. The staff are very friendly and attentive. We found parking in a lot down the street. It's family style, so we ordered several things to share. Yuzu OJ Cream Soda ($9): Caffeine free, non-alcoholic. SUPER sweet. Almost too sweet. But yummy dessert type of drink! *Refills are not free Tzatziki ($11): Really fresh, tastes good with the bread and veggies Eggplant dip ($11): This may have been my favorite??? It has a really intensely smoky garlic flavor and is best with the bread. I felt it didn't go as well with the veggies. Would come back just for this. Flatbread ($12): This bread is incredibly good, but I do feel that you should get at least 2 pieces for the price. Definitely get it with the dips. Seabass crudo agua chili ($23): Good salsa flavor with a little heat. I have no idea how much seabass costs as a fish but I do feel we could've skipped this one for the price. Chicken skewer ($23): Nicely grilled chicken with that charred flavor, not too dry!! Enough for 2 people imo. But also realistically you can get chicken skewers with sides and a drink for this price elsewhere. The sauces were good. Grilled farmer greens ($14): Very yummy, also with a chargrilled flavor. It came with broccolini, asparagus, shishito peppers, and I think some type of onion. Crudites ($8): Fresh rainbow carrots, cucumber with some sort of oil to add a little flavor. Good for health but tbh not necessary because the bread tastes better with the dips. In sum, this meal was approximately $86 per person with tax, service fee (4.7%), and 20% tip, which is pretty high for a meal without alcohol. My biggest suggestion would be to consider lowering the cost of the flatbread. Great for special occasions, or if your wallet can afford this price for a casual evening. We needed to come as walk-ins to check if we could get a table, and the receptionist was kind enough to get us one. I appreciated that given the hectic day! It's a restaurant with natural light and a white interior. Our food came just in time although we were hungry! Our server was friendly and approachable. I have to be honest that the food is okay. I brought my parents here for Mother's Day and had made a reservation for around 4pm. Unfortunately, we were seated at the very back of the terrace next to a large party with children running around throughout the entire back section of the restaurant. Considering the occasion, it was disappointing, especially because there were multiple other open tables available that would have provided a much nicer atmosphere for celebrating with my parents. What made the experience feel especially uncomfortable was seeing other parties who arrived after us -- including a table of younger girls who were not celebrating Mother's Day and on their phones the entire meal -- being seated in much more desirable areas while we remained tucked away in what honestly felt like the worst table in the restaurant. As someone who has lived in Venice for over five years and supported this neighborhood regularly, the experience left me questioning whether we were being unfairly treated or profiled. I do want to note that our server was very kind and attentive, and I have no complaints regarding the service itself. Without any warning or clear disclosure on the menu, a 4.7% service charge was tacked onto our final check. Under California law (SB 1524), restaurants are required to clearly and conspicuously disclose these types of fees before you order. Sneaking it in at the very end feels completely deceptive and instantly put a damper on what should have been a great memory. I walked past this little treasure with no intentions of going in, but sure enough the tide swayed me towards her doors, I walked into this serene space, feeling at peace immediately. Before I could take a seat, they didn't let the inside empty chairs fool me, they said, step outside, check out the back, so I did and saw everything and everyone; packed, joyous, couples, families, everyone enjoying themselves and the atmosphere. As if this wasn't an invitation enough to get the ball rolling on my love life. On my return I knew I needed something light and refreshing. The waitress, kind and new, came up to me asking what I wanted to drink. I needed something slightly different, my norm being a cab. So we landed on a chilled red, for a warm day in Socals "winter", of which I cannot remember the name of, something from Norcal. After that I knew I needed more. The anchovies were a must try and the crudo immediately caught my eye. Let me tell you the crudo was exactly what I needed at that moment in time. Cold, fresh, thinly sliced, sauced in a flavor blend I was ready to bottle up and take home with me. The waitress was kind, the sommelier was available and ready, both checking in with me frequently as I enjoyed the experience. Let me start by saying that I did HEAVY research on great Greek restaurants in LA for my man's birthday, and narrowed it down to here and a popular one in Malibu. I chose Alisa because it was a bit closer and had better (though fewer) reviews. Alisa Wine & Friends is super cute, chic Mediterranean decor with indoor and outdoor seating. Parking is a challenge like anywhere in Venice, but we found street parking a block away. We came at 7:15pm on a Sunday with a reservation and were sat pretty quickly. Every menu item we tried was pretty good, if I had to pick a favorite dish it would be the spicy feta dip, even though neither dip came with anything to dip in it and the flatbread was another $8. The Greek salad was underwhelming as was the grilled squid, definitely could have passed on both of those. I think what really killed this spot for me was the service. Evangelos was our server, and honestly everything was off. We sat for about 10-15 minutes when we first arrived after receiving water waiting to order. I ordered a bottle of pinot grigio, and instead of presenting both options, he just charged the more expensive one. The bottle was brought without an ice bucket, and I had to ask for one twice from both Evangelos and a woman who seemed like a hostess to get it to the table. My wine glass had a bug in it and I also had to ask twice to get a clean one, which the woman graciously brought over. The food was authentic just like the food we had in Athens, Santorini, and Mykonos. Service was really good too. I cannot wait to go back here with my friends and family. I really enjoyed myself and the food! I had the chicken skewers, cucumber tzatziki sauce, and pita bread that was made to perfection. It was all good and moist. The portions can be shared family style but they do not give a lot of food. The sakes expresso was marvelous! Very good taste that is different from other expresso martinis. I highly recommend they are VERY good! The service was very attentive and patient. We were there for a while and they still checked on us and didn't mind! The ambience is super cute and quaint. It's modern, the space is not too big but it's good enough room. It's really cute for date night too! They only have wine and winded based drinks. Wow! This was my first time here at this restaurant and it was amazing. It was adorable inside. It's small and has a feel like you're in an underground cave that's trendy. The service was impressive and the food was unbelievable. The chicken skewers, taziki, and sake espresso martini are the best I ever had. It is a very unique drink with a beautiful presentation. Very authentic ingredients. The bread was very tasty, hot, and made perfect. The chicken was so tender it melted in your fork. Great spot to grab small bites and drinks. Beautiful atmosphere.
