I absolutely cannot wait to come back here for any reason at all - and to bring my kids and friends here. This was recommended to me by someone who is local to the diner and it is the kind of spot that you go to when you want to be treated like family or like neighbors and eat good food. To be honest, I don't know how long it has been here. It has the feel of diners that have been around for a while but is cleaner and brighter. They have tons of seating inside and outside. Our server was amazing and told us that he started working there as a part-time job decades ago, but he loved it and stayed because he loved the people that come through here. And because he loves his job that also comes through in the service and food. I ordered huevos rancheros and a black coffee. I could seriously sit there and drink the coffee all day. It is so smooth and it does the job of waking me up! I just love the mug that they serve it in with the thick ceramic walls. A Yelp find that peeked my interest with their Cinnamon Roll Pancakes and Chicken Sausage Royale Bowl. Of course I ordered as well as consumed both right here on the spot. The Cinnamon Roll Pancakes were a delight. Fluffy Light warm and tasty with the drizzle across the top surface. Were delicious and not as sweet as I assumed. Actually came out perfect even after barely adding syrup. Simply delish. The service was more than helpful. The Staff are Friendly Professional and Competent. The diner gives off that Ole School eats vibe and is a pleasant experience. Several customers were seated when I arrived and you could tell who were regulars. Says a lot. And it's not just hype. The food is really good. The Chicken Sausage Royale had a medley of flavors complimenting a dish that went together well with Hollandaise Sauce in between the Egg Scramble and Brown Rice (at the bottom). They offered a Spicy Hot Sauce (house made) that added kick pairing and enhancing the Smokey (Tuscan like) Flavors that inundated (in a good way) the dish. Another delicious bite for certain. The breakfast burrito gives you two kinda small size burritos, my only complaint is how tiny the burritos were. I got beans as my side, then added potato's as well. I added potatoes to my breakfast chorizo burrito and it was good. Again my only complaint is the baby burrito size that is like the size of a microwave burrito. Haven't been here since last time I came to LA over five years ago. Food is good just like before and service was good. Had chilaquiles for breakfast they were nice and crispy came with a side of black beans and pico de de Galloway as well as sour cream. Their coffee was good an strong. Cinnamon Roll pancakes were a fun twist (large serving) and chilaquiles tasted good but had way more eggs and beans than chips and sauce so not my favorite version of that dish. I was in La for the weekend and before I left I needed something to refuel me before a long drive. I searched up something nearby and found Ronnie's. The place is in a shopping small but they have plenty of parking. Inside they do have bar seating and also booths. We sat down and after a quick skim of the menu I went with the eggs Benedict. I was a little mad they don't have hash browns but oh well, so I got the diced potatoes. The food looked good but was very tasteless. The hollandaise side did not have any flavor nor did the potatoes. The Chicken club didn't have much flavor either. Only had two out of the four pieces and left the rest. Ronnie's has become a go-to breakfast spot for me on the west side of LA. It's a friendly little neighborhood diner that has good food, hot coffee, an accommodating staff, and some of the best French toast I've ever had - all for an affordable price. The diner itself sits in a mini-strip mall-like business center, but the other businesses don't attract too much traffic so there's usually a good amount of parking spots in the lot available. On a weekend morning, Saturday or Sunday, there can be a 10-20 minute wait as many of people from the neighboring residential neighborhoods come in for breakfast and bring their kids, but the staff is really good about bringing food out quickly and getting people in and out without rushing them. There is indoor and patio seating, and each space is pretty large. It's very nice to sit outside on a beautiful day and watch people walk by while enjoying a hot cup of coffee. Pro tip: Ronnie's French Toast (pictured) is SO good. It's two big slices of fluffy toast, topped with a ton of powdered sugar and maple syrup. It definitely hits the spot for anyone with a bit of a sweet tooth for breakfast. read more

A really solid and fair priced diner in the Marina del Rey area. Los Angeles has so many awesome diners to choose from and I would consider this one of those. They have a large parking lot attached that had plenty of parking when we arrived for a 10:30AM Saturday brunch. We were seated right when we arrived and our server did a great job checking in on us and being on top of the drink refills. It's fairly large on the inside and they have a lot of different seating options although when I go to a diner, I always prefer a booth. You can tell it's the sort of place that a lot of locals frequent which lets me to know that it is also consistently good. They have a lot of great food options on the menu, so it was hard to choose. For our first visit we chose the California Scramble, the Eggs Benedict, and shared a Cinnamon Roll Pancake. The scramble was really good and seasoned well, and was a large sized portion. The Eggs Benedict was very traditional and even though the hollandaise was not my favorite compared to other places, it was still very good. The cinnamon roll pancake was exceptionally great and I especially liked the icing on top. Overall Ronnie's is a really solid diner in West Los Angeles. I definitely plan to be back in the future and love that they have free parking on-site, which is pretty rare in LA. read more

I visited today for breakfast. There were only 2 other customers. The place was empty, but there was plenty of staff having lots of lively conversation with each other. I was not made to feel welcome. When I sat, I was approached by a male server who asked if I wanted a drink. I requested a glass of water and a cup of hot water. He made a face at the request. He returned with both without a word. He never returned to take my order. Instead another male came to take my order and asked if I brought my own tea bag. I said that I did and he said "Well, we're going to charge you for a tea because you can't bring outside items." The charge was going to be $4.25. This was incredibly petty. I have ordered hot water many times in restaurants because tea tends to be a cheap bag of Lipton. I wish the surly man who reluctantly brought me a cup of hot water had told me then, before I used the bag. I would have gladly opted to not have tea at all. I still ordered a full breakfast. The food itself was nothing out of the ordinary - eggs, sausage and potatoes. I was at least glad that it came out hot. However, the stinginess was evident once again when I was given only 1 slice of toast. What really rounded out my incredible disappointment was the lack of service. No one came to replenish the hot water supply that they made sure to tell me they were charging me for. While I heard all the male servers joking and having a great time together in front of the kitchen. I felt intentionally ignored. Again, the restaurant was empty. As other customers, who were clearly regulars, came in they were greeted warmly and told about the specials and continually were given refills. While I sat with an empty glass of water and an empty cup. Overall the experience was lackluster and disappointing. The food is definitely not worth the price. The only time I got a smile was when I was getting ready to settle my bill. Nothing brings a smile like the promise of a tip. In this case, not at all deserved. I don't recommend this place unless you are a regular. Then you will be given wonderful customer service that could help you to ignore the unremarkable and overpriced food. I certainly won't be returning. They get 1star because the food was warm. The tea AND the service were cold. read more
