Stopped in for a late breakfast during the week. My server, Mike, was wonderful. He was very friendly, constantly keeping my water and coffee full, and quick to take my order. He brought me an extra plate to help separate some of the food from the meadows special plate, which was much appreciated. The diner has the true diner vibe with tons of booth seating and chrome accents. The bathroom was a little out dated and could definitely use a refresh and a few repairs, but was clean and stocked with soap and paper towels.

Wow, I am not a "diner" girl, but I've been there three times now and I have yet to be disappointed. Breakfast is phenomenal-their biscuits and gravy, chipped beef, eggs, French toast-even the coffee is very tasty! Service is great and the people are friendly. Prices are good and it's now our family's favorite place to get together!

Biscuit was the best part of the meal. We went at 12 on a Sunday and were served quickly and with kindness. The ambiance is nice and warm like a classic diner. The breakfast potatoes were also delicious. My omelette also had a cheese pull!

Can you see the peppers & onions...awesome chicken cheesesteak, so good!

Just adding the Meadows special early morning menu! Delish start to any morning, try the Belgium waffles....yum!

Generally, I liked my experience here. Ambiance: (5/5) Great diner feel with booths and regular tables. Price: (5/5) Greta prices for huge portions. Food: (4/5) The food was definitely a bit heavy, but it was really good. The sausage gravy could have used a bit of salt and pepper but I'm glad I got it on the side of the waffles so I could control how much I ate. I also tried the French toast with some toppings. That was a also really good (maybe a bit too sweet, so I should have picked different toppings). Service: (4/5) Staff is great. They are so accommodating. Food did take a while but I wasn't in a rush.

COVID19 take-out .. . eerie to see THE MEADOWS this way ... :(

They have very good gluten-free French toast. It's nice to be able to go someplace and get a gluten-free meal. That's good.

What is wrong with the world in general?…read more How about why is this establishment perpetuating extreme ignorance? I called to place an order for pick up. Before I knew what my total would be, before the restaurant knew what I wanted, before I even knew if I wanted to place an order because I wasn't sure if I'd have time to wait the question I was greeted with is "How am I paying, cash or credit?" What??? Seriously? That is the worst, most money hungry question on the planet. What? Are you concerned I'm not going to pay you? Well, no worries. I can actually answer that question. You are actually concerned with what price to charge me. I know this because after I placed my order and said I was paying credit, I was TOLD (not asked) I was going to pay 15% gratuity. Excuse me? First of all GRATUITY is what I pay to say THANK YOU (hence the term gratuity) for great SERVICE. If you answer the phone and push some buttons to put in my order then I have to drive to the establishment, get out of my car, walk inside, possibly wait behind someone else before I can even get my order, then WHERE IS THE SERVICE!!!!????? Aside from the fact that you have omitted part of the meal that I would have enjoyed if I had the time to come inside and sit (soup), you then want me to be THANKFUL?!?! (For getting less and paying more). Shameful. In addition, when I do come in and sit and enjoy my meal, 20% gratuity or better is what is left on the table. Why? Because someone came over to my table and took my order, checked on me, brought me food, drinks, napkins l, straws, a smile, etc. I can't even get a smile through the phone and this chick wants 15%? Disgraceful! AND... if management is forcing servers to take time away from their in restaurant patrons to place phoned in orders... you need to rethink your business model. How about you get up off of your behinds from counting all of your dollars and help the staff get these orders processed. What you need to keep in mind is 15% of zero is zero. I encourage anyone reading this review to think twice before ordering out at this restaurant. Despicable!

Patio dining is where it's at!…read more We visited Filomena's Lakeview with another couple on a Wednesday evening. We enjoyed a pre-dinner drink at the bar, and we were so impressed by how friendly the bartenders were. They were engaging and social. They set off our evening on a high note! My Pink Jaguar cocktail was beautiful and caused quite a buzz among the bar patrons! We opted to sit outside, and we are glad we did. The space is open and breezy but fully covered. No need to worry if a passing shower makes its way overhead. Steamed clams in white wine and Truffle fries for the table to start. Yum! All entrees are accompanied by a house salad or Ceasar salad. Our group ordered the Limone Chicken, Chicken Sfiziosa, Steak Frite, and the Eggplant Meatballs/Risotto. Everything came out piping hot and delicious. We loved everything. I know their linguine is house made, but not certain of the other pasta varietals. Cheesecake and Cannoli for dessert, because why not? Really nice experience! Our server was sweet and super-efficient. My only question for Filomena's Lakeview is "Where is the lake?" :)

We arrived around 3:45 PM without reservations and they immediately took us to an open table. Iced Waters were instant. Our server was very pleasant and she took our order. Bread quickly followed with two types served: Italian with sesame seeds and focaccia; however I was puzzled that it was served with a plate of hot peppers and onions in a juice. It seemed off but perhaps it's a Jersey thing. I've been all over in Italy and have never seen this. Olive oil would have been fine along with a splash of balsamic vinegar. Either way I skipped bread condiments. Next came the Fried Tomatoes topped with Lump Crab as an appetizer, but once again I had another head-scratcher, as this dish wasn't typical. First the entire dish lacked seasoning plus salt. Then red tomatoes were used and we all know what happens when you try to fry one. It turns to water after you cut it. The lump crab is what probably made this dish pricey but 3 thinly slices of a red tomato caught me off guard. Now for the final knock out: I ordered the Bone In Pork Chop and impressed that I was asked how Iiked it prepared? I said 145 degrees. She said, you mean well- done. I stated no, that would be in a range of medium. Lo and behold, it was fantastically preparation temperature, but it came topped with the same peppers and onions concoction that came out with the bread. I had no idea that this was a smothered situation. My broccolini was also a mystery. The mashed potatoes were mid. Now on to my daughter's chicken Parmesan: She said that it lacked flavor and had to add salt and pepper and also stated that the sauce was loose and there was too little of it. My wife enjoyed her Salmon. Jersey is cooking differently!!!!! I forgot to add: Underneath of my pork chop I discovered a mysterious piece of corn. I had no corn in my dish??????

What is great about the place is it's beautiful. It's big, lots of baked goods. It's very pretty inside and their lunch specials are spectacular. I spent the nice drinking O'Doules and redbulls and the bartender was very kind. She smiled when I said "its a party too ill have a third" (O'Doules) im don't drink much anymore. Do you know that feeling when you start anticipating an experience before you get there?…read more Well this morning I was imagining a crusty chewy onion bagel with veggie cream cheese that provided a perfect flavor match perhaps with some veggie snap amidst the velvety cream cheese. Mmmm couldn't wait Well my dreams fell flat ... totally ... First no onion bagels so I ordered a poppy seed. Second it was the most abysmal looking poppy seed bagel almost absent of poppyseeds. I am looking at my uneaten half and counting seeds ... 1, 2,3 ... NINETEEN totals poppy seeds on half the bagel. Third, the bagel's surface was let's say "flexible" to the touch. Yea ... no bagel crunch to the bite almost soft but still bagelish chewy. But, I did order a poppyseed bagel, right? Fourth, that "veggie cream cheese" had a rather unique taste with absolutely no crisp veggies in the mix just a collection of veggies colorful specks that hinted at the original source. Do they use dehydrated veggies dust to create their Veggie Cream Cheese? Truly a mystery and about a quarter of my bagel ended up in the trash. Don't sit near the door on a cold day because you will sense the outdoors. I will take the blame for this one since I chose my table but I needed the space. The coffee was good ... service friendly and prompt ... and they were busy, which means people not resembling me like their "bagels." So two stars for what I was missing. I do know there are other locations nearby so in the future if I want a "real" bagel or a poppyseed bagel with poppyseeds and veggie cream cheese that tastes ... well I know where I won't go.

On June 27, my family and I went to this Applebee's and were having a great time until it came time…read moreto pay. Our experience completely changed because of how the coupons were handled, and it ended up ruining our meal. Our server and the manager told us we were not allowed to use two coupons on the same check for two appetizers. At other Applebee's locations we have been to, they were able to split the check so both coupons could be used without any issue. The coupon was for a free any appetizer when you spend $15, and we chose the mozzarella sticks. We had spent over $15, but when the coupon was attempted, we were told it was only taking off about $4.99. Because of that, the manager ended up removing the coupon entirely instead of honoring it as a free appetizer. In the end, neither coupon was actually used. We also had a second appetizer, the loaded potato waves, but we were told we could not apply the second coupon to it either. Since we had two coupons and ordered two appetizers, we expected both to be honored, but were told that was not allowed. This left us with two unused coupons and we still had to pay a high bill. On top of that, we ordered a Strawberry Coolada Swirl from the bar, and it was left sitting for several minutes before being brought to us. The drink started to melt while it was just sitting there. Our server came to the table asking if we had decided what we wanted to eat, even though the drink was already sitting there. She had to have seen it while walking past and also knew I never received my drink when she brought everyone else's drinks out. Once it was finally addressed, there was no offer to remake it even though it had been sitting and melting due to the delay. To make things worse, I requested my receipt to be texted to my phone number, entered my number at checkout, and I never received it. Overall, my family and I were very dissatisfied with the restaurant and the way the situation was handled. It completely ruined what should have been an enjoyable meal. We expected better customer service and consistency, especially since other Applebee's locations have handled the same type of coupon without any problem. We will not be coming back to this location again.
