My wife and I had dinner at Rodrigo's for the first and last time last night. We both had the Carnie Aasada burritos. They were about 85 percent bean and rice with very little carnie asada. For $20 each we were very disappointed. You can get a much better burrito for half the price at one of the local takeout shops. read more

I absolutely love this place. I've been eating at Rodrigo's since it was Don Jose'. From Anaheim and Laguna Hills and now back to Temecula again. The Temecula one is by far the best. The customer service from the door to the table is just pure awesomeness. The food is amazing. Always hot and loaded. The chips are warm and salsa is always fresh! Refills are always coming. The flavor of all the food is amazingly good. And their prices are great! You won't be disappointed here at all. IF you happen to have any issues they will make it right for you. Our first and last time there. The food is absolutely delicious. The service, however, is atrocious. Our fajitas were served sizzling hot and with an amazing presentation on the plate. When the fajitas were brought to our table, the waiter inadvertently and accidentally, bumped the serving tray onto the floor, which included our tortillas. Certainly understandable, as accidents do happen. Waiter never said a word. He picked-up the food and tray from the floor and disappeared. Approx. 5 minutes later, he plopped the tortillas down on our table, in a speedy motion, and quickly disappeared. Lightning fast. No apology or any words at all to us. No water refills were offered. We were ignored throughout our entire meal. We waited and waited for our check to be presented, but it never was brought to us. We ended up going to the register and paying. Mind you, we were not 'steamed' or upset at all........just severely disappointed in being ignored. We felt our business was taken for granted. read more

Pleasantly surprised! We tried Rodrigos 9 years ago when we moved here and weren't impressed. We decided to give it another try since we live so close. So happy we did!! Came on a Saturday afternoon and sat at the bar. Great ambience! We got our drinks within 2 minutes of sitting down. Rodrigo (the bartender is actually named Rodrigo) was fantastic! He recommended the shrimp enchiladas and they didn't disappoint! He got us the spicier salsa (ask for it) and never let our drinks go empty. The cheese enchilada was bomb! I have a gift card for this rat hole and went there for lunch. Someone seated us and a waiter brought us chips, brought us water and iced tea took our order, brought us or food and then our check. It wasn't until I went to pay with my gift card that I was informed that they were not able to take gift cards at this time pointing to a little 3 x 5 sign on the cashiers desk. Their food is not worth me paying cash for and their customer service is nearly as bad. In the future I will only get food to go and then if I can't use the gift card they can keep their crappy food. read more

My wife, son and I went to the restaurant on Tuesday night. I ordered two shredded beef tacos and found the taco shells to be rigid and without any flavor. The middle of the taco shell was soft but the outside of the shell from end to end was hard and rigid as if they were prepared hours in advance to accommodate the "taco-Tuesday" crowd. Also disappointing were the chips. They were stale, cold and some appeared to have been fried twice. The salsa was fresh, the beans were tasty and everything else was nice. We have been fans of this restaurant for years and this experience will not keep us from coming back. read more

We visited today on our way home. We ordered a carnitas plate and the steak and shrimp plate. The salsa was bland and full of large tomatoes chunks. The carnitas had no flavor, and the carne asada came in an ~3 ounce piece, dry and well done ( ordered medium). The shrimp were cooked ok but bland. The corn side with shrimp was soaked in either a butter or oil ( not edible) We eat Mexican all the time and this meal was disappointing. On a positive note, our server was just lovely and discounted my meal $4.00 to help accommodate the steak. read more

This was our first time at Rodrigo's. We have lived in Temecula a year now and have been wanting to try it. We were impressed. My husband had the carnitas and loved them. I enjoyed a very hello grilled citrus chicken salad and it was divine. The veggies and oranges were super fresh and the chicken was cooked perfectly. I loved the dressing and it was homemade according to Saul who was our wonderful waiter. He was super on top of our table and also filling drinks when necessary. We left the restaurant and my husband forgot his leftovers. He realized this and went right back in to the restaurant to grab them but the table was already cleared. Saul insisted my husband wait and they made him an entirely new meal to take home with us. OMG...customer service right there. My husband even told him not to worry about it but he insisted. Poor management, takes employees tips, takes all overtime hours from employees, no breaks or lunch is given, forced to sign documents in order to receive our checks. Never worked at a place so unprofessional. Let management know about issues several times just to be pushed off the schedule and now my dad is not allowed in the restaurant because he confronted Duane the manager regarding issues and underage drinking after restaurant hours. Called corporate and still nothing just kicked out of the restaurant. Spoke to kris in corporate to let owners know 3 different times, nothing to come from that. Talked to David which is a regional manager and said he would bring me in to discuss situation and still nothing. Talked to sheriff's dept they have been investigating this ESTABLISHMENT for some time hopefully is shut down sooner then later. As for us employees will be seeking legal action.. This is our families regular stop for great tasting Mexican food. The staff is friendly and very prompt. Most visits, we have to decline more chips and salsa and refills. The meals are priced reasonably and all are very tasty. The regular margaritas are really good and when you catch Happy Hour, even better. -Sunday Brunch Update- We have been coming here for years, and regularly go to other Rodrigo's in other areas a lot. 4 of us went for brunch this morning here in Temecula. We were promptly told by our server that the "Champagne Brunch" only included 2 glasses of champagne each. Period. We are by no means big drinkers, but this is insulting! Maybe we want three glasses. In the past, our servers have been wonderful and served us all the champagne we wanted ( which was about three glasses). This server was very robotic, "You-may-have-up-to-2-glasses-of-champagne-with-your-Brunch-only". Right off the bat. We talked to the manager who informed us it has always been this way. After 3-4 years, this is the first time we have ever been told this. So, like any good Sunday-bruncher, we left and went to Lazy Dog. And what a wonderful brunch we had! Great service, great champagne flight offered and food was awesome! So sorry to not be going to Rodrigo's anymore but happy to have found Lazy Dog instead! read more

Went there for lunch yesterday. Besides the food, I ordered a Modela Negra, in a bottle. The beer was totally flat, no carbonation at all. When they brought the bill, I mentioned it to the server. This place is very sad. On Sat. I went for lunch. The very young girl with the long dark hair was really hyper. I asked if I could sit in the patio and she said no, she put me at a bar table. I noticed people being sat at the patio after she told me no. She gave me a set menu that was basic and the majority of the prices started at $15.00. I waited and waited to get a drink. The male bar tender had a fried sitting at the bar and IGNORED the people at the bar area. FINALLY the bar tender asked what I wanted and I ordered. There were very few people in the restaurant. I waited 30 minutes to get my meal. The cook comes in the bar area with 3 tickets telling the bar tender "These meals have been ready for pick up". It was like a circus. When I tasted my meal it was stone cold!!!!! In the area where I was sitting there is a table loaded with to-go containers. I had to get up and put my cold enchilada in the to go box. The bar tender again IGNORED me because he was entertaining the bar fly at the bar. I waited after packing my own food 20 more minutes to get the bill. I noticed the girl at the front door was in the bar area talking with the bartender and the bar fly...they were having their own party while customers waited for service. I ordered a quart of italian dressing at 3:40pm on saturday for pick up at 5:30pm Sunday. The girl on the line got my information including a call back number. I showed up on sunday, more than 24 hours after placing the order for the dressing, and the hostess goes to the back to get it. When she comes back she tells me "My manager said to tell you that we dont have enough to sell you today." This is not the first, but the second time this exact thing has happened. Fine I get it. If you run out, you run out. But if you have a call back number, call your customer and let them know not to waste their time driving to your location for something they ordered more than enough time in advance, because you didnt even set it aside! read more

Wish I could rate this no stars . Went In today to get lunch with my boyfriend . No one was in there but two guys at the bar . All the workers were sitting around . Jenna was suppose to be our server and come to us in a couple of minutes . We sat in there for 45 minutes and got no Jenna . The host that sat us gave us drinks and chips and told us twice Jenna would be with us . No one walked In after us . It was so slow . And we got no service . Jenna never served us or came over to us . And there was one table in there that wasn't bussed and it only had drinks and chips on it as well.
