We started with the Spicy Tuna Crispy Rice and the Chicken Karaage, both of which were perfectly executed. Their Brussel Sprouts are soooo crunchy and delicious too! Roe delivers a very clean sushi roll. The Rainbow Roll and Firecracker Roll were exceptional and you can taste the quality in their ingredients. The highlight of the night was the Prime Rib Eye with miso butter and the Filet Mignon Fried Rice. They do true medium rare on the steak here VERY WELL!! She is super chill and great with making recommendations. For that I would come back repeatedly. Now for the food. I had the mixed tempura as an appetizer and it was fantastic. It was full of flavor, tender, and crispy. I proceeded to the filet mignon and it was cooked perfectly to my liking. It came with a wasabi dipping sauce and that was delicious. Do not come to this place on lunch time if you dont have at least and hour and a half lunch. Im not sure if they had major staff shortage today or what happened. I was there waiting close to 40 minutes just to get my food. I ended up leaving even AFTER I paid, hungry and without food. The party before me barely started getting their food when I left. Even heard them talking about "should we just take this to go?" .. When I asked the server how much longer, after asking him to just pack my food to go, he stated they were just packing my food to go... 5 more minutes passed. We had a wonderful dinner last night. Service was impeccable all thanks to Vanessa! Such a sweet lady! And the best part - my baby daughter loved her too! We actually intended to watch the Dodger game at the Mexican Restaurant, but did not find a place to park, so wandered west on Sierra Madre to find this relatively new restaurant hidden along the Boulevard. The location has been several different restaurants over the years, but the location has never been fully packed when we drive by. The food is good, but while we dined there, it seems the rice was a little to hard and was not what I was expecting. The California Rolls were rather small and really did not represent what I'm accustomed to. Also, the salmon sauce was a bit too spicy for being Japanese cuisine/fusion, and should probably try to be less spicy. I would consider the restaurant more fusion than traditional Japanese faire, but would not necessarily come back for the food. read more

The Kids Bento was really sad - it doesnt even come with rice. The cucumber roll was all soggy because the soy sauce spilled over to it. Food: Ordered 3 sets of handroll pairs from the menu: salmon crunch (5/10), baked crab and avocado (8/10), tiger (7/10), spicy garlic bluefin (7/10)--but they were out of bluefin and substituted it with another fish. Baked crab was great but a bit small for the price. The spicy garlic tuna had a great amount of flavor from the crispy onions. The tiger and salmon crunch were okay but probably would not order again. Also ordered the filet mignon fried rice and the baked crab Mac and cheese appetizer. The mac and cheese came out after we finished the hand rolls and the fried rice. Filet mignon fried rice (6.5/10). This was okay. The presentation was great but it lacked salt/flavor and only had 8 dime-sized pieces of filet mignon. Had to add soy sauce on top to make it better. Would probably not order this again either. Baked crab Mac and cheese (5.5/10) --took 45 minutes so be mindful when ordering this. This dish was abnormally sweet. Was honestly not expecting that at all. It was like biting into sugar and cheese with each bite. It's also really small and ~maybe~ good enough for two people but really it's like it's for one person. The saving grace was the crab and cheese. That was super flavorful but the macaroni being sweet kinda threw me off.
