After discovering a nail in the tire and a rather serious leak, we were referred to CV Tire Pros by John Nakayama of Nakayama Motorsports in Castro Valley. I had added air about 2 days ago but finally noticed a nail while pumping gas...sure enough warning light back on. Castro Valley Tire Pros was an immediate option as was in the area...good reviews and checked if they did tire patches. Beto helped me this first visit and was friendly, no nonsense and just the facts. Advised it would be about an hour wait (Saturday, 9:45am) as first come, first serve. After 20 mins of waiting, staff worked on my car but told based on the placement of the nail it would need to be replaced....so 2 new tires! *sigh* not what I had planned this Saturday morning but glad to get it taken care of. Overall a seamless experience replacing 2 tires within an hour...they do offer the option of adding a 3-year warranty and tire rotation. Consulting with a friend he said it would be good peace-of-mind to get the warranty ($40) but skipped the rotation ($110). Beto educated me on the tire pressure, what tread I had left on the other tires and mentioned to consider other factors such as extreme heat for wear-and-tear on tires. Based on the service and ease I'll be back to replace the other 2 in the future.

The staff had always been friendly and helpful, and I've recommended this shop to others in the past. During a recent visit, I was quoted around $2,200 for new tires. I wasn't comfortable with the price, which I understand is my choice and the shop's decision to set. I declined and was advised to buy tires online and have them shipped to the store for installation. When I called to confirm the tire size before ordering, since the shop still had my car, I received incorrect information. When I called again, I was given different sizes without anyone checking the car, even though it was still at the shop. I finally had to insist that someone physically look at sticker insife my vehicle to verify the correct size. I initially let this go. The tires were delivered in less than a week, but I received no notification from the store. When I called to check, I was told my tires were not there and that maybe they were delivered to a different local store "because that happens all the time." I then had to spend time contacting Tires Easy and FedEx, only to confirm the tires had in fact already been delivered to this location. The main issue was my interaction with an employee named Steven on the day of installation. I explained that I had been there a little over two weeks earlier and that the 'service due" message on the dashboard had not been cleared. Steven immediately dismissed what I was saying, replying, "Isn't the car electric? We didn't do an oil change," and spoke to me condescendingly. I also let that go for the time being, as I know this notification has been cleared before. Later that day, after receiving a text saying the tires couldn't be installed with photos that didn't clearly explain the issue, I called the store to understand what was going on. During that phone call, Steven repeatedly cut me off and spoke to me in a dismissive manner. Instead of helping problem solve or explain next steps, the call was effectively shut down. When I came back to the store to pick up my car, the same behavior continued in person. I again tried to explain the earlier tire size confusion and understand how the issue could be resolved. Steven interrupted me repeatedly, offered no guidance, and ended the conversation by stating the tires were "spare tires," without any attempt at collaboration or explanation. I was willing to overlook the earlier confusion and wasted time, but after being treated this way, it made me question the overall professionalism and communication at this location. I won't be returning. In a time when costs are high and customers have many choices, customer service plays a critical role in where people choose to do business. A company's reputation is shaped by the experiences it delivers, particularly the most recent ones.

When I called yesterday to request a quote for a transmission drain and refill service, the woman I…read morespoke with was helpful and professional. However, when I called again this morning, I spoke with a male employee who seemed rushed and reluctant. Despite this, he told me to bring my vehicle in and stated he could complete the service around 3:00-3:30 PM. Based on that information, I dropped my car off before going to work. Upon arrival, the same employee informed me--without inspecting my vehicle--that a transmission drain and refill would not resolve my issue. He did not examine the car, run a diagnostic, or assess the condition in any way before making this determination. I found this concerning and unprofessional. My vehicle had recently begun shaking due to low fluids. I have not experienced any prior transmission issues, nor were any transmission problems identified during a recent inspection when I had new spark plugs installed. I requested a specific service (a transmission drain and refill), not a transmission diagnosis or replacement. As a customer, I expect that my vehicle would at least be assessed before being told definitively that a service would not help. Additionally, I was told to "look up online that all Nissans have transmission failures," which I found dismissive and inappropriate. If the shop was too busy to perform the service, that should have been communicated before I was asked to bring my vehicle in. I am disappointed that I was asked to bring my car in, only to be turned away without an evaluation. I believe a professional approach would have been to inspect the vehicle first and then provide an informed recommendation. I would appreciate clarification regarding why the service was declined without assessment after I was told to bring the vehicle in. I do be that i was definitely racially discriminated against here!

To change my tire and parked on the side of the dumpster Tuesday night went to go change the flat the next day, but they didn't have the size I needed for my spare tire so I have to wait one day. So I go up there Thursday morning and my car has been towed but I couldn't move it because I had a fight so I had to call the tow yard to see how much it was to get my car out. So it was a miscommunication and I have to talk to the owner to tell him what the problem was.. and due to the holidays he decided to help me out I would like to say thank you very much, Ali . They're still good people in the world.

We don't drive it more than 2000 miles a year, but the inspection listed several areas that needed attention. From that experience, I knew Adams was a quality and honest establishment in Castro Valley. Well today I thought I would change out the air filter on the Lexus and with the help of Youtube I thought "no problem". Well I had a problem and I could not for the life of me get the air filter housing to set back in place with the new filter. I called Adams and spoke to Paige and she said to bring the Lexus and they would look at it. I get there Paige tries to get it back in place but can't; she calls Jose from the garage to take a look and within minutes he has got it back in place and tightened up all the 10 mm bolts in the engine bay. Thank you Adams Autoworx, I have you on my speed dial.

It bothers me that I must write this, but the time has come. As one can tell from my previous…read morereview, I was really high on this place, but the bloom is off the rose. I took my Lexus there 2 days ago for a routine oil change, and to repair a coolant leak that I had diagnosed. The leak was indisputably the result of the lower radiator hose rubbing against the alternator drive pulley. This hose was installed by them when they did my timing belt service. Because I provided the hose, they disclaimed warranty coverage. The problem is that it was not a part failure; it was an installation error. I wasn't crazy about it, even after Paige began/attempted to tell me that if that were the case, it would have failed months ago. That is patently false. It was a tight installation, and the contact between the two parts was very slight. A blind man could see it. I explained to her that I am a 50+year veteran of the automotive repair industry, and that this was an installation error; not a part failure. She even claimed that they did not install it. I invited her to look up the repair sequence for the timing belt job in Alldata. She should have taken notice that I even knew what Alldata was. I advised her that one of the early steps in the process is to remove the radiator. Since they did acknowledge the timing belt/water pump job, they really don't have a leg to stand on. She was not about to be swayed, even when I told her that That would be the last of me they would ever see. Ever hear the term "penny wise and pound foolish"? So beware- their warranty means nothing. Had I not picked up on the leak in time, things would be very different. A $20K engine's destruction would have shown them a much more animated and dissatisfied customer. Bill Adams would have never allowed this to happen, but alas, Bill couldn't be involved, and many of you know why. But he understood the importance of keeping their clientele happy and returning. Unfortunately, he had to distance himself from the business, and hand it down to the kids. They are woefully under prepared, in my humble estimation. They wanted to charge me for a repair that was clearly caused by their error. Imagine that...chasing away any customer over a simple and relatively inexpensive issue like this. But a customer who has a history of thousands of dollars with your company??? They will learn a hard lesson, and it won't involve me any longer. All the people that older reviewers are raving about are gone. So are some of the perks. They have discontinued UBER service for customers, even though their sign out front brags of it. I'm voting with my feet and my wallet....Good luck; you're going to need it.
