Hector checked the vehicle right away and walked me through his assessment. He showed me that the brake pads still have plenty of life left, so no replacement was needed. In fact, Hector told me the car is in excellent condition overall. The only issue he found was a leak in the rear shocks, which he recommended replacing. I agreed, and he had the new shocks installed within a couple of hours. The entire experience was fast (in‑and‑out the same day), reasonably priced, and completely honest--Hector clearly explained what truly needed attention and what didn't. I-I just spoke to someone when I made the appointment and provided all the details over the phone."  No notes. I didn't memorize the codes for my check-in, so I panicked. After considerable phone scrolling, I found the codes in my browser history and Googled their meaning. Now, notes. I asked for an estimated wait time. Couldn't tell me until they looked under the hood. Fair.  Resisting the urge to jump to conclusions, I spend the next four hours eating breakfast, washing laundry, and telling myself, "Don't worry, buddy. They haven't forgotten about you." It's noon. "Oh, we're just getting to it now, we'll have an estimated wait time for you soon." Now nervous, I called again at 2 PM and 3 PM. No updates. I tell myself, "It's okay buddy. You've been here before. They're probably fixing the issues right now." It's 4:30 PM and they close at 5 PM. The time to get my car is now. Nothing was fixed, only an assessment, and I'm out $100 (with an apology and discount). Over eight hours. I could have secured another vehicle to run errands had I known I would be waiting over eight hours. You've heard, "Only a fool learns from [their] own mistakes. The wise [person] learns from the mistakes of others." They made me out for a fool; however, here are some tips so you can wisely learn from my experience: 1. When you schedule the appointment, confirm, "Is this the time you'll take my car in, or is this the time my car will be assessed? May I please schedule for when you can look at my car?" 2. When you schedule the appointment, confirm, "Are you taking these notes down for the mechanic so that I don't have to repeat them?" 3. Call them every hour for updates. I hesitated because I had been there before and also because I was nervous about maybe irritating them with the constant calls. They taught me a valuable lesson in consumer self-advocacy and it's only to your benefit to call and make sure they haven't forgotten you. To be clear, the quality of their mechanic service is not in question. It's the uncommunicative and disorganized office staff that has guaranteed I'll never return. May you find a mechanic to meet your car needs.

I recently took them a project car of mine, my beloved Honda S2000 who we thought was declared dead. Luis said they were willing to check her out and take on this challenge to revive her. I must say they were successful!! They informed me it was the fuel pump and fuel injectors that needed to be replaced. They searched far and wide to find the needed parts, even thought they were more than likely obsolete. I am so grateful to Luis and his team for bringing my car back to life. Since she needed to be smogged, Luis was kind enough to take her to the smog shop next door to have her tested. He called me with the great news that she had passed smog and was ready be picked up. On the 3 mile drive home, the van started smoking and caught fire. The fire department was called and had to put out the fire. The car is a total loss and we are waiting to hear from our adjuster. In the meantime,Luis and his brother came to see the car at our home and have done nothing to help resolve this matter. At first they agreed to make this right, but now they refuse to give us their insurance information so that we can file a claim with their company, they refuse to refund the money we paid for the work they did on the car. They won't pay for a rental car either because we are down a car. They refuse to pay the money for our van, the urgent care visit that my husband had to go to for the burns on his right hand, and the wages for the 3 shifts of work that my husband missed due to this incident. My car was running fine prior to leaving it with Luis at R&L. My husband works for the South Bay Union School District and Luis and R&L Performance work on their trucks. I would surmise that maybe that should be reconsidered. I would not take a car to them in the future. Save yourself the frustration and aggravation. Learn from my experience.

I paid close to $300 for an 02 sensor replacement that i was told would fix the p0172 error code that gave me a check engine light. I even got to pick up my car the same day since it was a quick fix. I get home and drove not even 2 miles and boom, the check engine light comes on. When i use my OBD scanner to see why, it WAS THE SAME ERROR CODE i went into their auto shop to get fixed. My worst assumption is that they just unplugged my car battery and said they fixed it. ( doing that will reset codes and they wont get picked up for a while from obd scans ) Very sad thanksgiving surprise.

So many things stood out to me with this shop. The first being how clean it was. The work area walls were white and the floor is spotless. It did not feel grimy or dirty.
