Careful with this place, if your car only needs a wrench, ratchet and screw driver you might be okay. But any advanced problem solving with engine codes and diagnostics, its beyond the scope of the lead mechanic and the seemingly owner They had my car for 3 days, did nothing the first two...and on the 3rd day they must have put in a couple hours but these clowns could not and did not fix anything, and it was returned to with a bloated invoice of work not done and a $300 charge. After this my regular mechanic at Ricks Auto finished everything in two hours and billed me $200. I wrote the owner insisting for an adequate refund, he did not respond. So I write my bank and they returned the money to me. I mean like who needs to deal with businesses like this??? read more

This place was such a great find for me! 25 years of mechanics and repair garages looking for competent help with my classic car, and I finally got lucky! I been to them all trust me. Some they let my car sit for 4 months or more!. Then they throw a few hours at it and send you on your way.breaking down 1/4 mile from the place.. lol no joke, 3-4 times this actually happened. Some would love to help me! But they are so busy! Call me 5 months from now. And then what mostly occurred,they are just flat out not interested and refuse to even look at my car. Or look at it as if it's theirs, and give me advice based on their disicions. Like junk it.. lol (actually happened) Some garages are a real cracker bunch.. they charged me on top of rejecting. Nevertheless the Mechanic Eric at Roger's Tire focused on what i wanted, Profesional and accommodating! This guy buzzed right past half the mechanics in the state! And did it with the ease like it was just a days work for him! Scheduling impressed me. They don't reject you, they are just organized. I was fortunate to find Roger's Tires to do a performance alignment on my lowered Mazdaspeed3. Like others have mentioned, Dave was able to adjust the alignment to my specs and perfectly. I was afraid my car wouldn't fit on the alignment rack, but it cleared. If your car is super low, it may have issues. I'm lowered -1.25" on Swift Springs. Dave was able to adjust everything to my liking, and it's cool to hang out and watch as he does his magic. As someone who does my own work, I'm very particular when other people work on my car. I was confident in this shop's care and attention to detail with my car. They treated it as if it was their own. I've been to other shops who are careless, take shortcuts, or rush for the sake of time. Dave took his time and was meticulous. This is a very straightforward shop with extensive capabilities that will treat you like a human being, act in your best interests and not try to take advantage of you. Being in a distressed area, prices are reasonable to the local clientele. If you need to find a mechanic to fix your car or help you with something so simple as changing a wiper blade or a headlight bulb, you can bring your vehicle and they'll do it. Even bigger or custom jobs are not beyond their scope, and you will be kept up to date every step of the way. One interesting feature this shop has is a proper alignment rack. Tuner and track people, are you listening? This is one family owned shop that does alignments with a real mechanic with real capabilities and not just the three brain cells needed to hit buttons so the green light for the factory tolerance specs light up. Want a "performance alignment" in Rhode Island to whatever spec you want? come to Roger's Tires. Want camber plates or aftermarket lower control arms to run insane amounts of negative camber for the track? David will hook you up. Want a proper and true alignment to factory specs, David will sit down with you, even invite you into the garage and show you every widget he turns as he adjusts the car the way you want it. I learned that what's crazy about alignments is that many cars are within "factory tolerances" and still don't handle properly. Despite my car being "OK" according to the rack, the rear tires were toed in the same direction (one in, the other out) and it pulled to the right. This was because the factory tolerances have massive margins for error, with my suffering worsened handling and excessive tire wear as a consequence. Upon request, David will sit there with you and set the Toe or whatever other setting you want to infinitely minute tolerances, the way you want it. David is the kind of guy that even if paid by the insurance to only repair the alignment of one wheel, the damaged one in an accident, he will feel obliged to check all the alignments of all the tires and do right for the customer by aligning it the way it should be, in your best interest, so it runs the best for you. David and his wife are also very knowledgeable about tires. If you want low cost rubber for your ride, cheap tires abound here. If you want something more specialized, they are an authorized tire rack dealer and you can get whatever wheels or specialized tires. I even found other customers present with old and antique tire sizes no longer in production soliciting their business here. Most of the work David does is for pure factory stock cars, but he does have experience racing on several of the New England (and other) area tracks with more than a few supercars, think Mitsu Evo or Nissan GTR. They don't advertise this, but David knows more than he lets on to: he's very modest. If you like to race your car and don't want to deal with your marque's stealership's prices or lack of understanding for how you want to customize it, well, take your toys to Roger's Tires' sandbox and be done with it. I recently had my car serviced here and feel that I was taken advantage of as far as labor costs. I see several reviews saying it's affordable here. Unfortunately, it wasn't even close to affordable for me. I'm in a lower income bracket and got hit with over $500 in labor for a job that should have been half that much. There is also a shop supply charge and a hazmat charge which went unexplained on the invoice. I also wasn't informed of what it was going to cost before the work was started. I don't know if the mechanic skinned his knuckles while working on my car and he took it out on me or what. I just don't understand what I did to deserve this. One thing is for sure, I won't be going back here ever. read more

I have a 1963 Nova Convertible that I had taken for an alignment to other shops with terrible results. I found Rodger's on line, gave them a call and they had an opening and said come right over. They are great, I got there Dave put the car on the alignment machine and within an hour my car was properly aligned and went down the road straight. I had been trying for months to find someone who knew how to align my vintage Chevy. Most shops don't have the knowledge or desire to work on classics but at Rodgers they like to work on classics and know what to do. If you have a classic this is the place to go. read more

I never asked why it's called "Roger's Tires"; I've always assumed it was just the name of the place when it was taken over by the current owners, Dave and Darleen. There's too may positive attributes to fit in this one review, so I'll give you the bottom line: HONEST! Other shops have tried to milk a simple fix into a major repair. Not here. Mechanic's have told me that my front end alignment is out (when it wasn't...they were seeking the work). Not here. Both the tire and rim are blown from that pot hole I hit? Yup, they'll tell you where you stand, even if it's bad news (and I knew it...common sense dictates that if the rim is cracked and the tire is sliced, it's dead). Oh, and Darleen is a sweetheart, providing wonderful customer help at the counter. There are other technician's working there too, but my apologies to them as I don't know their name, but they get the credit too. One more thing; Roger's has an excellent working relationship with other business in the area, specifically regarding things they don't do there (like inspections, but other things too). I've never been burned by one of there referrals either. I've referred a friend there who said that besides everything I've written, they find the convince of being open Saturday really great as they work all week. Another plus!!! read more

I learned quite a bit just watching David work on it, carefully perfecting the setup and helping me understand how it was going. Just before New Year's, I could not find a business that could check my tires and fuels. We had been experiencing an Arctic plunge and I was heading to Canada the next day to visit family. I took a chance and stopped at Roger's. They were busy, but they said they would check everything for me. The atmosphere in the office/waiting area was warm and friendly. Not only did they do the service for me, but they handed me the keys and wished me a good trip. No charge. What a great experience. As good as it gets as far as mechanics go. Their prices are upfront and honest as are the mechanics and owners of the shop. I generally do most of my own work but had been having a nasty front bearing issue where my bearings had to be replaced within 6 months of eachother twice (requires a press, not doable at home) - I finally figured I'd take the car to a new shop and see if that made any difference on what was costing me $180 a piece and lo-and-behold I still have 0 issues with the replacement bearing they put on my vehicle. The folks at Roger's tires insured that my tire buying experience was a great one. I did my research to know which tires I wanted ahead of time (though, I don't doubt that the people there would have helped me). It was after finding the tires I want that I saw the reviews for Roger's tires. I called them, told them what I needed and they provided a quote...as well as some helpful advice...over the phone. Then I stopped by to meet the folks there and to place my order. They gladly did that, told me that it could be a week or so before the tires came in (they arrived in only a few days). We scheduled an appointment...which I then had to postpone because GM held my truck in for service for several days....not the one day I expected. Roger's kindly allowed me to pushed my appointment out a few days. When I arrived for my appointment, they were ready for me and got right to work. I'm admittedly very fussy about tire balance...that's why I specify dynamic balancing...it's the most accurate method (and it's a little more time consuming and pricey...but it's worth it to me). In fact, I told the technician that I'd be happy to pay for additional time if that's what it took to get the tires and wheels balanced as perfectly as possible. [Side note: I've been frustrated by poor balancing at GMC dealerships and at Town Fair Tire. At those places, I've had to wait for hours...wasting my time because they didn't do their job well the first time. At TFT, I finally stopped going because no matter how many times I went back, they never got the tires balanced correctly. I finally gave up....you can't get blood from a stone. At the dealership, they got it somewhat right, some of the time...not a great track record.] The technician at Roger's heard my concern and assured me he'd get it right (and he did!). The balancing is the best I've had in a decade. And he didn't charge me any more than we'd originally agreed upon. That's great work, excellent service and integrity. I've brought two cars to Roger's Tires for 4-wheel alignments, one a few years back, and the other recently. The first required a tie-rod end to be replaced prior to the alignment, and Dave was glad to show me where the worn end was, and demonstrate why it needed replacement (the wheel knuckle had some serious play in it). The quoted price is what I was charged, and I went on my way happy. More recently, when he attempted to align the front wheels on the second car, the tie-rods were frozen (it probably hadn't been aligned in 15 years), and he was unable to free them. He lubed the heck out of them, and I made a second appointment for a week later so he could attempt it again after some driving time would hopefully unfreeze them. The second attempt was more fruitful, and he was able to complete the job. Given that he'd put a good 3 hours into the job, I was concerned about the potential overcost, but was charged their stated 4-wheel alignment fee, and the car rode straight and true. I blew a tire out yesterday after hopping an unexpected new curb, which has thrown the front end off to a great degree. I'll be heading back to Roger's Tires this week to get the problem sorted, and I have no question they'll be giving me the same great service. UPDATE: I scheduled the realignment in the midst of the blizzard we're under, and Dave got it sorted. As I'd just had it aligned, Dave did it pro bono. On the way out, I managed to drop a wheel over their curb and get stuck (camouflaged by the snow...I'm very sick of curbing at this point), and the guys gave me a helpful push out. i discovered roger's tire shop thru yelp, and the really positive reviews they have received. well, here is another one. they were awesome... diagnosed my vibration issue quickly, and informed me of the problem (out of round tires). fortunately, they have the high end road force load simulation balancer, which my former tire shop didn't have. when I went to pick up, I was taken out to talk to dave, who took the time to show me the facts and explain what the issue was. i had already suspected the tires may be bad, and had done some research on finding new run flat tires online, and had some in mind at tirerack.com. turns out that roger's tire shop is an authorized tirerack.com installer. after discussing with dave, i decided i would order the tires from tirerack, have them shipped directly to roger's tire, which i have done. dave didn't charge me for the diagnosis, given that i would be using him for the mounting/balancing service of my new tires. this is my new tire/front end shop. what a pleasant customer experience. thank you dave and darlene!!! read more

I called, and made an appointment, and told them because of my work schedule, they could have the vehicle for the entire day if need be. I dropped my vehicle off for tires and an alignment when they opened. By 1 pm they called and said my vehicle was ready to go. When I went to cash out, the technician apologized for mixing up my vehicle with an identical one for service, so they did an oil change that I didn't need, but assured me I wasn't to be charged for their mistake. I almost could have burst out laughing. Best mistake that could have been made. Awesome, honest employees and a very clean shop. What an excellent crew! Stopped by because I had been told by a different mechanic that I needed two new tires -- Dave helped me right away and suggested I get all 4 tires new due to the winter snow approaching, but also gave me an estimate of how much longer I could probably wait before getting the second 2 tires replaced. Didn't pressure me into buying all 4, but gave me both prices and told me a bit about the warranty on certain tires.. I felt very informed and encouraged as I don't know much about cars and such, yet felt like with what he told me I was able to make my own decision confidently. Came back a few weeks later for a noise on my car, Dave immediately took it out for a drive and recognized what it was, when I've taken it to multiple mechanics and car-savvy friends in the past, with no luck of figuring out the issue. They looked under my car and saw what was making the noise, bent it into the right place, and I was all set within minutes. Due to a stroke I am limited as to how much work I can now personally do on my vehicles. Roger's Tires has come to be an establishment I feel I can trust. When I ask a knowledgeable question they give me a straight answer, which I appreciate. I never feel I've been overcharged because I know what the labor entails and have given them some no-so-easy jobs, which they've done without a flaw. I consider it a great job when I don't have to return a vehicle because something wasn't done right. I came across Rogers tires after an extensive search of finding a mechanic I could trust. I used to go to Broad st garage in Woonsocket, right off of providence st. Since then, they have partnered up with Henris from park Ave and merged 2 garages into one. Didn't work out. I was double booked twice. Just to get my serpentine belt looked at. Finally, when I came across the reviews on Yelp and Facebook, they were all positive. I have been going here for about 4 months and just got my car serviced today.
