After a morning on the beach we stopped at an old favorite, Bostons, for lunch. First off our server, Alexis, was amazing. Extremely pleasant and very efficient. I opted for the red, white and blue salad with blackened mahi mahi. It was excellent. A must try for the bleu cheese lovers out there. My wife opted to go straight to dessert! She had the chocolate brownie "overload" and based on the fact that the plate went back to the kitchen completely empty, I am assuming it was very good! If you are local, you know Bostons! If you're visiting here, Bostons is a great, comfortable place to enjoy, across the street from the beach with good food, pleasant atmosphere and a full bar. Enjoy! read more

When we arrived, the host told us he would contact us when a table opened up. We waited across the street and watched as multiple other parties were seated before us. After a while our frustration grew, so we walked back over to ask if it was finally our turn -- right as he was seating another couple. Eventually we were seated, but the service only got worse from there. Our server barely acknowledged us. We had to flag him down multiple times just to get basic things like drinks. When we finished eating, we again had to wave him over just to get the check. Even after we boxed up leftovers, no one even offered a bag to take the food with us. Despite the poor experience, we still left a tip because we believe in treating people fairly. However, this level of service is far below the bare minimum you'd expect when dining out. I almost never leave reviews anywhere, but this experience was so disappointing that I felt compelled to share it. If I were the owner, I would want to know that the staff representing the restaurant are delivering service like this. 1/5 stars. Very upset with the experience today. I hope management takes this feedback seriously and improves the level of service here. read more

This wasn't even my worst customer service experience because there basically wasn't any service at all. We came a Saturday afternoon and the place was nearly empty, yet it took 10 minutes to get a menu at the bar. After our beers, we waited 20 minutes with no attention before asking to be moved to a booth. We were surrounded by dirty booths. Another 15 minutes later, the bartender said he'd be back with menus... and never returned. After another 10 minutes, we got up and paid ourselves. This was during the Delray Tennis Open and peak beach season. I'm a local, and this wasn't my first bad experience, but it will be my last. They seem to survive on doing the bare minimum, and tourists end up paying the price. The only reason for the extra star is the cool signed jersey from Mike Eruzione on display. read more

It was happy hour so they 'let us have happy hour' outside which they said they don't normally do...The parking here is atrocious so I had to go to a meter and park. The Boston's on the beach is so awesome and friendly casual ambiance with both inside and outside seating or just sit at the bar and look around the room with all of the sports memorabilia from the Boston Red Sox Boston Celtics and the Boston Bruins from Ted Williams to Bill Russell and Bobby Orr pictures of all of them Tom Brady as just very cool. As the service the waitress was very friendly and polite pleasant was a pleasure meeting her. She is from The Ukraine and so blessed to be here in America considering what's going on back in her country. Haven't been here in years And we were taking a walk up Atlantic Avenue and decided to come in for lunch Located on Ocean Boulevard it's going to be one of your closest places to eat near the beach. There's not really an ocean view, they call it beachfront, but if you go upstairs, I think you can get a water view. Bistro style tacos - come three to an order. I was asked if I wanted grilled or blackened chicken. I ordered blackened chicken, but it actually came out grilled which was fine. They were very good comes with a smoky chipotle aïoli and pico served on soft flour tortillas. Grilled chicken cabana - grilled chicken sandwich topped with smoked applewood, bacon, pepper, jack cheese, and lettuce and tomato. Our server asked if we wanted french fries or mango slaw. We actually ordered mango slaw, but it came with french fries they were quick to fix the error. I have to to say this was a great sandwich. Food was excellent service was just a little slow and off. My friends & I sat outside on the patio, enjoying a breezy evening. At the outset I'll say that our server, Maddie, was excellent. Prompt, Efficient and Attentive. The food, however, left much to be desired. We started with appetizers consisting of Nachos and 2 orders of peel & eat Shrimp. The Nachos were tasty. The Shrimp was just ok. I would have preferred the shrimp being de-veined before being cooked. It's just not appealing to peel Shrimp and having to dig out the vein. For dinner, I had the Fish & Chips. The fish was just ok, as were the fries. The Cole Slaw was inedible, tasting like a dish of vinegar, earning a 2 Star rating. My friends were equally unimpressed with their dinner. The Surf & Turf was just acceptable, with the steak being a little tough. He gave his dinner 3 Stars. My other friend had Grilled Salmon with veggies and slaw. She said the Salmon was rather bland, the slaw too vinegary, but the veggies were tasty. Also a 3 Star vote. For dessert, we had Key Lime Pie and some other Chocolate pastry, both tasty, but no Awards here. As the photos show, all was attractively presented, but I had hoped for a more satisfying experience for my visiting friends. Boston's on the Beach fell from grace. My wife and I used to love coming here, but it's definitely not the same. We sat at the bar and our bartender didn't know much about the menu (especially the house wines), we order chips and salsa; the salsa was more of a bruschetta, the fish dip was good. The bartender did not ask us if we wanted more drinks and we were double charge and one of the amounts was incorrect, so I'm keeping an eye on that credit card charge. What made it worse that a manager was there the whole time and didn't check up on us, and the place was not busy at all. Great ambience and a great view but that's about it. read more

Boston's is super convenient when you're having a beach day in Delray. It's super casual and gives a nice beach twist on a sports bar. I had the key west platter, which included fish, conch fritters, shrimp, and fries. The tartar sauce was nice and tangy and paired really well with the fish. The fish was flakey and fried perfectly. The conch fritters were kind of creamy on the inside, but had a good flavor. The pina colada was a perfect balance of coconut and pineapple and had a thinner consistency. Prices were okay, but it's really convenient and the service is quick! read more

A few nights ago we had dinner there and it was very good. The next day I realized my iPhone was missing. I did an online search (Google ?) and it was located near the restaurant. I went there and despite the restaurant being VERY busy (Easter Sunday!) the staff, especially the manager whose name I don't remember- a black woman- and her staff were extremely helpful. After a young black guy staff member and I searched the trash barrels (not fun) the phone was eventually discovered in the WOMEN'S room! I'm a guy. How it got there we'll never know, but I want it known that the staff, including the manager, spent a great deal of time helping me out. Losing a cellphone is major and I got lucky with the staff members that went WAY out of their way to help a stranger. read more

We joined family members one afternoon to try out Bostons. We had all been there many years ago and enjoyed some of the nostalgia from way back when. It was a little hike across the bridge where we parked to walk avenue, but there was also parking at the beach and valet parking for the restaurant should we have chosen to do that. We were greeted and seated promptly and our server took our drink order immediately. The menu had a lot of nice choices. We chose to sit outdoors as our table faced the ocean. It was a beautiful clear view between people and cars driving by and the weather was perfect for outdoor seating. I saw the clam roll listed on the menu and that got my attention right away. They were tender whole fried soft shell clams with a nice breading . The dish came with a side of Cole slaw with mango pieces. Others had the grouper sandwich and burgers. I have dined here many times over the past twenty years, having lived in South Florida for over twenty-five years. Today I returned for lunch after spending a couple of hours on the beach. I decided to try the Gorgonzola Steak Salad. Boy, am I glad I did because it was delicious. The steak portion was one of the bigger portions of steak I have had on a steak salad and was perfectly cooked. The salad contained mixed greens, Kalmatta olives, roasted tomatoes, portobello mushrooms, crumbled blue cheese, onion haystack, and a white balsamic-shallot dressing. Boston's is an iconic Delray Beach restaurant. Recently, it has become more of a bar than restaurant. The menu has been shortened from about 40 years ago when I first ate here. The beachside bar is called Sandbar. There is complimentary valet parking which comes in handy on busy weekends. For $10 you can leave your car here all day, eat and enjoy the beach. You have a choice to eat inside or out. During Covid-19, I recommend that you eat outside. It is safer. So far as the meals go, I had a poke bowl which was on the menu as an appetizer. It was OK if you like poke. My mother-in-law enjoyed the the "Power Bowl." It actually looked better than my choice. My husband had taco shrimp. It looked delicious. He doesn't like tomatoes however. It was drenched in tomatoes. If you are visiting Delray Beach, definitely enjoy a meal here! read more

What a disgusting establishment with the most ignorant workers and bosses. Whats the point of allowing service animals if the staff will treat you like complete shit? My husband has EPILEPSY and we told them (they asked), they thought we were lying and continued to say to each other that "we had the right answer," directly in front of us. They continued to give us nasty looks and speak poorly about us the entire time, when we were nothing, but nice and understanding. The managers/ boss (was an older, larger man and woman), stood there and STARED at us about a foot away , so I told them we're waiting on the check and leaving. The man said "good!!!" Not sure what's so "good" to not want customers who were kind and willing to spend good money. If they hate people and their job that much, they should do what they do best and eat some more Big Macs, instead of using their mouth to be openly and verbally rude to customers. Not to mention this restaurant is playing a podcast talking about pooping in a bathtub lol you can't make this up. The burger some how no cheese and I asked well done and got absolutely charred and charged for cheese. Sweet potato fries comes out after the burger I tried to eat say 40 minutes after ordering. Boston's was kinda dead no less..complained to the waitress Re order and excuses about their chef. Gimme a break. AMAZING how the management didn't go out of their way and comp the meal. Would of been common sense to help out the customer. My mom couldn't even have the drink with the fries cause of futility in the kitchen. Where is the management. Very upsetting that I was charged. And to tip it all off the waitress upon returning the change shorts me $5. I guess cause she knew she was in for a $0 tip. This USED to be a wonderful casual elegant beach dining spot but yesterday after many years, I visited with my 25 year old daughter. I wanted a lobster roll MP. Was so excited! Also, we visited with my labradoodle. On your site, it says dog friendly. When we arrived to laughing, non-friendly employees, we were sat on the sidewalk seats. It was an incredibly windy day. Our menus literally flew off the table. I then asked to be seated in the covered area but NOT indoors and was told NO because of my cute labradoodle. We remained on the sidewalk table holding on to our drinks etc so they would not tip over from the wind. By the way, it was pretty empty. The roll was okay...cheap type of bread. Our server was very kind and attentive. Kudos to her! We plan to never return. The place has turned into a low end type of bar. My suggestion is: get a new chef or a new menu. The musician was great! The coleslaw was awful! Maybe you can turn it into a burger, fries type of place. The view here is beautiful . Again, the food was horrible. Oh, my second glass of Prosecco fell because of the very high wind but I just wanted to leave so it was not reported. read more

My boyfriend and I came here for a mid afternoon lunch on a Saturday. We had tried to go to the beach, but the weather turned ugly quick. We were hungry, and decided to sit out on Boston's covered patio before heading home. The place was pretty busy, but we were seated right away at the table of our choosing that was right on the sidewalk, so that we could both people watch and enjoy the breezy ocean view. It was National Margarita Day, so of course my boyfriend indulged in one. He quite enjoyed it, but switched to beer after the one. I stuck with my water, and was more interested in the food. I just HAD to try out their New England Clam Chowder, and see if it held up to their Boston name. It was delicious! My boyfriend also loved his lobster bisque. I went with the philly cheesesteak for my meal, and he went with the burger. Both portions were perfect, and the fries were outstanding. We would definitely come back here again, as the menu really has something for everyone. Our waitress was outstanding, attentive, and quick. She constantly checked up on us throughout our meal. I was just here on Friday early evening of a holiday weekend for seafood and March madness. What a disappointment. Im only giving two stars because the bartender was really good but by himself on a Friday night, and food was decent/ok. If you do brave going, get the salted Carmel gelato, that was the best part of my night. The ambiance was terrible, filthy room, bar, and bathrooms. It was deplorable. The online menu didn't match the menu you got when you walked in. Exposed wires were everywhere, the floor was sticky and you could tell hardly cleaned/mopped. We arrived here 20 minutes prior to closing thinking they closed later than they did. The hostess didn't hesitate to seat us (or even mention the closing time) and our waitress sweetly told us they were closing up but that we were welcome to stay, despite us offering to leave. We ordered quickly, food came quickly and was great! In and out within 35 min and we weren't even rushed even though we came late. The spicy crispy chicken sandwich was very good! Was recommended to come here by the hotel I'm staying at (Residence Inn by Marriott). Close walk from the hotel. If you check in to this restaurant on yelp, you get a free drink! YAY! They offer LOTS of outdoor seating, which is what we decided on! They have lots of signature drinks and typical blended drinks. I had a few piña coladas, my BF had the Dirty Banana (like a Dirty Money) and the Pineapple Express. All great tasting! They offer a rum runner option to have an extra shot in the drinks too! Food was fantastic. First day here and all I wanted was some good seafood. They had my favorite-- crab cakes and clam chowder, so I had that. Crab cakes came with a tasty mango salsa and some kind of sauce that was delicious. My BF had the crispy fish sandwich and it was everything he was after. They had some good dessert options, but those fruity drinks were enough of a dessert for us! Shoutout to our awesome waiter, Anthony, who was super nice and took great care of us! He learned quickly that the answer to the rum runners is ALWAYS a yes and made our drinks like that the rest of the night and didn't even have to ask! -- also, thanks to Mark for explaining what we can do for the Yelp free drink and welcoming us.
