    Spicy Wonton Vermicelli

Came in on a Sunday and I was not disappointed! I ordered the spicy wonton vermicelli soup (mild) and man, the wontons were delicious and freshly made! My friend ordered the wonton vermicelli soup and they agreed the wontons were spectacular. The service was great--the server was very sweet! We will definitely be coming back!

Post-Hoop Fuel: Spicy Wonton Vermicelli & Rolled Ice Cream After some serious basketball, we went straight for the heat--and the spicy wonton vermicelli did not disappoint. The broth was bold and flavorful with just the right kick. The wontons were juicy and packed with flavor, and the vermicelli soaked up all that spicy goodness perfectly. Then came dessert: rolled ice cream in two flavors--one creamy mango/vanilla, the other fruity strawberry. Smooth, cold, and perfectly sweet. The texture and presentation were 10/10. Great meal, great recovery. Would 100% come back again after another game.

I went here to get out of the office for lunch. I went shortly after their opening hours. The interior was sparsely lit so I had to make sure it was indeed open. Open entering, I was promptly greeted at the chilly entrance and found myself looking for seating at the warmest corner. I sat closest to the window to get a view of the people passing by and hind from the intermittent gusts. The weather called for a soup so I ordered a wonton soup with added shrimp. I was worried that the soup wouldn't be enough as some other places only give you 4-6 dumplings. It was not the case here. The serving was generous, piping hot, and definitely homemade style. The chicken was crunchy and hot. I was super satisfied with my lunch pick and would come back for dinner and dessert.

Ordered at counter and sat down on a seat of our choice. We picked up the drinks at the counter when it was ready. There's only one staff at the counter but they did bring our food out from the kitchen to our table. The food was great, fast and hearty. The zhajiangmian tasted like stirfry udon but good nonetheless. My Thai tea was great though my friend didn't like her red bean milk. The jelly was "weird". Anyway. Overall a great place to go for a quick but filling bite.

Ice cream was pretty good for a decent price. Came on a Tuesday afternoon before the school rush. Ordered the strawberry and Oreo ice cream with Oreo crumbs. Recommend bringing cash! They have surcharge for CC use. Parking can be tough. The restaurant interior is pretty small. Not great for groups. Staff was nice and efficient.

Came in for rolled ice cream on a hot day. They were quick. Loved that they use real fruit, makes a big difference. Will be back. I love whip cream with mine, they don't have any. Will still be back.

The BFF and I were taking our older kids to a concert at the Fox theatre. Which meant we needed to fill the time we waited for them and do so kid-friendly since we had her 1 littles in tow. So on to Yelp I went. Found this cute spot that would offer dinner and a dessert they'd enjoy and let's not lie we would enjoy as well. Easy to find but parking is a bit of a nightmare. It was 7:30 on a Thursday and although I'm sure street parking in plentiful during the day not so much once everyone is home and tucked in. We found a parking garage about 2 blocks away. Walked into this place and albeit its cozy there are seats and tables for dine-in. Well lit. Clean and music was at a comfortable volume. We were greeted by the cheerful person behind the Covid friendly plexiglass. Asked if we wanted ice cream and I kindly let them know after dinner. I ordered spam fried rice, honey basil chicken, garlic noods and salt and pepper pork. Food came out in a timely manner. We 4 shared it all family style. Spam fried rice was a hit as was the honey basil chicken. The chicken was nicely breaded and fried crisp. Then drizzle in a honey sauce served with rice and garnished with fried basil leaves. The Salt & Pepper I wanted to love. Unfortunately, every piece had a bone in it. We had to warn the littles. I also ordered a couple to-go's for when the kids got out of their concert. A basil chicken with egg and rice and for my son the vegetarian a salt and pepper tofu and rice. Glad I did that, because when they got out of the concert had worked up an appetite. On to the ice cream. This place offers a pretty substantial menu of flavors for their rolled ice cream. I had their ube ice cream topped with boba. Niece had green tea ice cream topped with boba. Nephew had cinnamon toast crunch ice cream and topped with mini marshmallows. The bff order a Nutella banana ice cream and topped it with fresh banana and drizzle of condensed milk. They were all YUM!!!! Customer service was on point. Love that they over full meals and not just snacks. Their ice cream was delicious. They even had a durian flavored ice cream if that's your thing. Price was decent. They don't have bathrooms for customers but there's a Jack in the Box just a few doors down. On a weekday they close at 9..dont know what their hours are on the weekends. I'd visit again

Venue is next door to Sidestreet Pho. It has a counter to order and pickup food from, with about 6 tables inside. I tried the beef bone marrow soup from others reviews but unfortunately it tasted watered down to me and not really that satisfying of a meal.

Food: 8/10 Service: 7/10 Portion size: medium Value: 8/10 We ordered the dan dan spicy soup noodle, garlic noodles with chicken and miso- glazed chilean seabass. And for dessert we got the red bean and ube ice cream rolls! First of all, I love how you can get both a delicious meal and dessert all in one place! It is more of a seat yourself, pay at the counter sort of place. My favorite was the dan dan spicy soup noodle. It had lots of flavor and was pretty filling with lots of minced meat and noodles. The garlic noodles were also delicious. Chicken was tender but I do wish there was more garlic! The seabass was also delicious. Had very good flavor but a tad overcooked. The dessert was awesome. This is more their specialty. They make it in front of you and it starts with just liquid and they chop everything up and roll it into ice cream! I tried the ube and then hubby got the red bean. You can get unlimited toppings too! Also there are vegan and gluten free desserts as well!

I've tried both the Oxtail/beef and pork hotpot, both were really good, I like the pork a little better because I'm a huge tonkotsu ramen fan, and the broth reminded me of that a lot. The beef luc lac, which is sort of like shaking beef over vermicelli and lettuce is also excellent. The duck salad was a hit. Citrus, some fish sauce. A great way to open up your appetite. The wings also had a bit of fish sauce funkiness on their glaze, and were juicy and crispy. The shaking beef with the with the rice noodles and lettuce was also a crowd-pleaser. The beef was tender and flavorful. We tried two hot pot flavors: sweet and sour and the pork bone broth. I preferred the sweet and sour one with the fish, prawns, and lots of interesting veggies like okra and the bac-ha which was fanstastic at soaking up the broth. I found the pork one a bit gamey, and the pork being already in the hot-pot was not super tender. Service was friendly and generally attentive. Definitely worth checking out for a date or a group dinner.

What made it even worse is that I chose this restaurant to celebrate my son's graduation. We waited around all day for them to open at 5 PM because I was excited to share a place that used to be one of my favorites. Instead, we left severely disappointed. Sadly, this visit was enough for me. I will never spend another dollar here, and that's something I never thought I would say about a restaurant I once loved so much. 1/5 Stars. What was once worth the drive is now a place I'll never return to. They also need to work on bringing all of your food to the table at once because in a very cold restaurant bringing out one dish at a time and it taking 20 minutes to bring out all of our food. We started with two plates of calamari for the table. They were fine--crispy enough, not bad at all--but nothing that made the table fall silent in amazement. Solid appetizer, just not the headliner. The real star of the night? The steak-wrapped mango. We ordered two plates and honestly could've ordered a third. Something about that sweet mango paired with savory steak just works. It's that sweet-meets-umami combo that makes you pause mid-bite and think, "Okay... that's actually really good." For my entrées I went a little wild and ordered both the steak clay pot and the salmon clay pot. I ate the steak there and took the salmon home for later. The steak clay pot was excellent--rich flavors, comforting, and exactly the kind of dish you want when you're sitting down with a big group and taking your time. The salmon clay pot, though, was just okay when I had it later. Maybe it's one of those dishes that really shines fresh out of the kitchen. Also, the portion felt a little small for the $20-ish price range. Where Dragon Rouge really pulls ahead is the setting. The views of the bay are great--you can see the bridge leading into Alameda, and it's apparently one that lifts for boats coming through. I didn't catch it opening while we were there, but even just watching the water and the lights around the bay added a cool vibe to the night. Another big plus: they were super accommodating for groups. We had a work dinner from surgery and they even let us bring in two cakes, which was really nice of them and made the whole night feel relaxed and celebratory. If I'm judging strictly on food, it's probably around a 3 out of 5. But add in the views, the group-friendly vibe, and the overall experience, and it easily climbs to a 4 out of 5. Great spot for big parties, work dinners, or just a relaxed night with a view of the bay. I'd definitely go back.
