Rollatini's is a long time favorite that we enjoy every time. Not only is the food great, its a good value. Its a small place, so its always a good idea to make a reservation. We used them last night for a party we did. Its the second time they have catered an event. Instead of buying the complete meals, we order large dishes of whatever we want. This restaurant was recommended by my coworker a few months ago, and I noticed that they had opened a second location so I was delighted to try it. We ordered fried calamari appetizer, hubby had the veal & eggplant parmigiana combo, and I had the shrimp francese. I thought we got onion rings because the calamari pieces were huge. Definitely wasn't overcooked, but still needs to be flash fried enough so the breading doesn't fall off. Sauce btw was very sweet. The portions are huge so it's a great value for the price. My dish came and when I went to twirl my angel hair around my fork, the pasta broke. Aargh hate overcooked pasta!! Rony was our waiter, he asked how everything was...I said my pasta's overcooked, and my hubby's dish too. He offered to fix it, he was very attentive and apologetic. The dish came back within 5 minutes with al dente pasta...perfect!! My dish was good, I do like my francese stronger but it was a quick fix to add some fresh lemon juice from the lemon slices we had for our water. Hubby's dish however was just too sweet, even after I suggested adding some salt to counter the sweetness. It is a bad sign when he doesn't want to take the leftovers. Cannolis were good, very fresh and they fill them when ordered so shells are not soggy, but I'm not crazy about all the chocolate sauce drizzled on them. We used to go to the one that was on 441. This one is incredible. Very friendly staff. It was our first time trying the pizza and we were extremely satisfied with the cheese and sauce. I also have had the pasta with vodka sauce in the past and it was equally impressive. The rolls are also memorable and will keep us coming back. My favorite casual Italian restaurant and I've been to many. I would recommend this to anyone that prefers small businesses over chains. read more

I come here on some occasions and every time the food is amazing. The restaurant is small which I like because it means I get served well and my food is made to order. It does get pretty busy on the weekends for dinner so you do have to make a reservation which is no problem. They have awesome garlic rolls. The plates always come with huge portions and I usually have food left over for the next day. Plates range $15-$20 but totally worth the price. The owner or his wife is always there when I go and they are really nice people. The did open up a second location which I have not tried, but to me the original is better! read more

I would not order from here again. The chicken parm entree was horrible. The sauce was incredibly sweet and tasted like marina sauce that you dip mozzarella sticks in...except incredibly sweet as well. It not the gravy or red sauce that i am used to that simmers for hours with a robust flavor. The chicken was thin and dry. Not to mention there were 3 sliced olives in the entree...i never had chicken parm with olives before. I ordered a side of meatballs and when i looked at it, i wondered what it was. It looked like party meatballs. Right then i knew this wasnt going to be good. I put the fork in and it was clearly overcooked and didnt appear to be "real" meatballs. It reminded me of the PreCooked meatballs that you can get in freezer section of super market...except those even taste better than this did. It was also in the horrible sweet sauce. I wasnt even sure if the red sauce was even cooked...it was room tempature. Another entree ordered was penne with garlic oil and brocolli. One look and again, i knew it wasnt going to be good. The brocolli clearly was not fresh brocolli. It was frozen brocolli and tasteless. I thought how can someone mess up olive oil and garlic....but this restaurant found a way. It looked like minced garlic from a jar and had no taste. I was expecting fresh garlic slices that had been cooked. read more

Food and service are generally excellent. The reason for only 3*'s is the incredibly cramped layout. Tables are so close together seating of neighboring tables will physically interupt your dining. Sharing conversation with adjacent tables, desired or undesired, is inevitable. Needless to say the sound level is excessive rendering conversation near impossible. The solution - Avoid peak dining hours. The food is worth it..our favorites include egg plant parmigiana & all the shrimp preps. read more

This is definitely a hidden gem! Hubby had veal parm & I had the veal picatta. The portions are VERY generous; certainly enough for our lunch the next day. This restaurant was definitely an unexpected surprise. And don't get me started on the garlic rolls......OML....absolutely sinful! Great place, and has been for years. First time I have been here in a while, and I am reminded I should come here more often. Authentic Italian food. Started with Calimari and it was perfect. Had Chicken Marsala and Garlic Roasted Potatos and delicious as always. My wife had Eggplant Parmesan with Spinach and Garlic, which was fantastic. Having dined there on numerous occasions, and taken out of town friends as well, I can state that this is a gem of a little place. When we were in Venice (Italy) we had dinners at little restaurants like this overlooking the canals. They were "locals" places suggested by the 4-5 star hotel Concierge where we stayed. Rollatini is not fancy but it's spotlessly clean and the food is very good. The portions are HUGE so unless you're a fat pig (who shouldn't be seen eating outside your house anyway} you will have a lunch and even possibly another dinner from the plate for the next day. I find they go awfully heavy on the sauces but most people always want extra sauce. For me, I order it with less sauce because I want to taste the food not just the sauce (otherwise I'd have a bowl of sauce-soup). Truthfully, with the amount of food they give you, I don't know how they turn a profit. read more

This place is a hidden gem. Everything was pretty much perfect. Best Italian restaurant I have ever been too, thats not upscale. Waitress was kind and attentive and sat us quickly. I am used to other small Italian restaurants being overpriced, especially for the mediocre food they make. This place is the opposite. Priced almost too cheap and well made, as well as actually caring for the presentation which is hardly done at any restaurant. Portions are just right, not too much not too little. Calamari was cooked perfectly which is no small feat. Garlic rolls are the best I had, small but amazing. Lasagna was great, yes the sauce is a tad bit sweet but refreshing to taste a sauce that actually doesn't taste like every other Italian restaurant's sauce. Even the dessert (Lava cake) was perfect and actually looked better than the picture advertising it. DON'T DO IT! Don't be fooled by these reviews. They are raving about the huge portion size to price ratio. We went as we were referred by a friend. They have two sides to their menu. One side is solid food and the other is ground up for people who need their food softened. Really. You can't tell from the menu but ask... We love eggplant parm but, it turns out, we ordered from the wrong side of the menu. Who needs eggplant parm to be ground up? They also ran out of a lot of items, including the steamed broccoli side which I was eyeing. Who runs out of broccoli at 7:30pm? read more

Wonderful Food - actually 3 1/2 stars My brother, his wife and my partner visited Rollatini for an early evening dinner, just after the Early Bird Special ended. It was a lovely experience. The room is fairly quiet, quiet small, tables that can easily be split into two tops or combined for larger groups. The appearance is quite average, while the smells are to breath for - fresh meats simmering in Italian sauces that have a hint of spring tomato. There is a varied fixed price menu ($14.99), including shrimp, fish, veal, wonderful eggplant, chicken and Italian sausage and Italian cheese. Each dinner includes soup or salad, wonderful garlic rolls and an assortment of vegetables to choose from plus a beverage. My brother and his wife split a broiled fish dish. The splitting charge, $7.99, includes a second soup or salad and a second desert. If you make the Early Bird cut-off time, dinner includes a generous desert. Their fish was perfectly prepared, nicely mild flavored, and attractively garnished. It came a few seconds early so I got to appreciate the aroma - aroma alone earned them their First Star. My partner had Shrimp Cacciatore, the unmistakable aroma of tomato, basil, and oregano, compelled me to reach over and sample a shrimp. Fine, fresh flavor earned them a Second Star. The portion size was sufficient for a generous dinner and lunch the next day - even after I sampled the second shrimp. The Calamari Marina was a delicately and surprisingly smooth preparation of the usually rubbery squid. I always order a diet-alternative dish with expectations of regretting not getting the real thing. My idea of Calamari is usually breaded and fried in 250 calories of artery clogging grease - this fine preparation was tasty with a strong hint of garlic, easy to chew, and good to the last Third Star bite. I'm on a diet. With lots of restraint, thoughtful guidance, and luck, I'm about 30 pounds lighter than I was at the beginning of this year. My favorite dish at Rollatini's is the Veal and Eggplant Combination Paramigiana. It is a rich, cheesy, blend of thin sliced veal and breaded/fried eggplant. I love it, reminds me of my Mother's cooking at her very best. Even though I skipped this dish in favor of my diet, I have to award the 1/2 Star just for the appearance and smell of the dish being served to the next table. If your diet can afford the treat, there is no better combination dish to gain weight on. The salad, included in the fixed price meal, could have earned them a fourth star, but unfortunately, it was not super fresh and had a few wilted leaves. Went to Rollatini Restaurant for my Mother's 90th birthday party. I spoke with Victor, the chef, to arrange a special dinner, as this was a special day. Well let me tell you he went overboard to accomodate my needs, and all this was done by long distance, as I live in New York. He decorated the place with flowers, balloons, and banners which was beautiful. The food was excellent, as my Mother had said it would be as a frequent patron there. But the most important was the wait staff. They could not be more pleasant if you asked them to be. The whole party, myself especially, was extremely blown away by the service and attitude of the staff. I could not be happier at the experience, food, and service that was provided.
